I don't know much about singers who sing mozart but so far shes the best I've heard, I think Mozart would be proud. In fact, this might be what Mozart wanted... because this is just beautiful....... everything about it every second -- no atrocious moments like the rest i've heard
she is not singing "Et incarnactus est", she is singing the second part:et homo factus est: only seh says et homo fa......ctus est, with a lot of notes in between...so you hear wrong :-)
she is not saying "incarnactus"...the whole text is "Ei incarnatus es deSpiritu Sancto et homo Factus est" She says "incarnatus" but says "sanctus", only she says that word after a serie of notes (et homo fa.....................ctus est) So she's not pronouncing bad!
She's great in this music, as in almost all Mozart I've heard from her...her Ruhe Sanft is amazing

It's all here: gorgeous, shimmering tone, beautiful phrasing, amazing breath control, and purity and depth of emotion--this seamless combination of vocal mastery with artistic expression is what the great Kathleen Battle is rightly famous for.
@operaman20 Thanks for commenting! I should have added the name of the person who wrote it... here it is: John Gilmore in "Probing Heaven". Here is another beautiful quote by Belle Brittain: "This is the luxury of music; it touches every key of memory and stirs all the hidden springs of sorrow and of joy. I love it for what it makes me forget and for what it makes me remember..." This is what music means to me anyway. Have a great day.
Can somebody answer my question? The title says "Et incarnatus est," but it sounds like she's saying "Et incarnactus est." Can someone tell me which is correct or if I'm hearing it wrong? Thanks.
Bella voce, rediscovering this beautiful voice among my classical cd's ,I happened on this video presentation. Close your eyes, this is what I hope to hear when crossing over into "heaven". This is how I expect to hear the angels.
I agree that Kathleen Battle is, here as everywhere, exquisite. She is the best I know for "Welche Wonne, welche Lust". Here in "Et incarnatus est" I love her but still prefer Sylvia McNair (pure, heavenly, otherworldly) or Sumi Jo (the one who gets me shaking as a leaf every time I hear her).
After watching and listening to all renditions available here in you tube, this rendition is the BEST. No doubt about it. Kathleen Battle is a real mozartian singer and each word/phrasing is a gem.

The correct spelling is "Incanatus" as shown in the title and she is singing "incarnaaaatus".
You are hearing it wrong.

You are right she is saying IncarnaCtus instead of et incarnatus est.
So your ear is right!

@mickey05491 I hear her phonating a hard "t" sound, not "ct".

@masettoallegro Its a shame not many in this World today have heard how Mozart should be sung... very few views in each of Kathleen's Mozart videos.
