I saw some of this floating against the wind while I was stationed in Afghanistan. What I saw was a circular button of what looked like spiral-wound silk in sort of a toroidal shape and I remember thinking that it was too hot for frost or snow (July) and that it seemed to be drifting into the wind. I reached out and caught it and it sublimated almost instantly, leaving, for a moment, an oily sensation on my finger tip that lasted only seconds. No wetness, no residue. Weird.
