i had to replace my galaxy s three times. the first time it droped calls and couldn't connect bule tooth. the seconed time the phone keep on freezing and turning off. the thrid time the phone heated up to when i can't hold because of the discomfort. I'm on my forth galaxy s and it stills freezes up. I'm gonna upgrade to iphone 4s.

Here are the results:

Processor from Galaxy (800 MHz) is as fast as iPhone's (1 GHz but underclocked because of Apple)

Memory? Same thing. You can add memory to Galaxy, so what? You can have a 32 GB iPhone >_>

RAM? iPhone beats this: Galaxy: 256 MB, iPhone 4: 512 MB

Connection to internet? Galaxy beats iPhone here.

So my conclusion is: iPhone 4 and Galaxy S are nearly the same. Just the OS isn't. So, equal. I don't care of Android or iOS.

I would go for the Galaxy, is a phone not a computer, you need to make calls and check your email you do not siri and all the blow while apple had (they are nice tho). And you will be not sorry when someone stole your phone. You will have money extra to buy another one later on.
