@QuallityQuills is the wire cahe good if i wanted to take my hedgie to a park or a friends house ( i may get a hedgehog if my father said its ok ) and my friend will get one soon he knows all what i know because i taught him we both want a pinto they look great
Hey there! I only got my hedgie for 20 dollars because he came from a friend. But anyways he is my prince and I try my best to spoil him so I have a question, would it be cheaper to just build him a new cage out of the cube and corp last
@buggie884 Hedgies must be kept at temperatures around 70-80 degrees. It depends on the particular hedgie, though. Some are fine at 70 degrees, while others need to be around 75 degrees, for example. You'll be able to tell through your hedgie's activity level and their breathing if they are too warm or too cold.
I would plan on spending around $100 for the hedgie's cage supplies. A hedgehog is usually around $150-$300 depending on where you get him/her from.
@xXxrissarawrxXx I heard different types of Purina cat food is good. Some of the headgehog foods have to many things in it a headgehog doesn't need and i heard it can dry their skin
Umm i was just wondering if girl hedgies are nicer than guys because im soooo excited im getting a hedgie but i cant decide between Boy or Girl and so far im tilting towards a girl and this is not for breeding. pleese comment back
Hi, Amanda! I love your videos. (: I was wondering, what did you use to make the holes in the sterilite container? I've already got my sterilite bin set up before I bring my baby home on Friday, but I need to do something about air flow and circulation. People recommended that I make holes about 7-8 inches above the bottom. However, I'm stumped as to how to make them and how big the holes need to be. Any advice you can give me would be great. (:
@meekalovesveggies I used an electric drill...I'm not sure what else you could use, but you could google and find some web pages on how to make a sterilite bin cage. Good luck with your new hedgie!
I am getting a hedgie in two days and would love to upgrade his cage that comes with him to one of these.. I would love to see a video you make on how to do it.. You rock! >.<
@QualityQuills Because heat lamps... unless they specifically say, will always require a LOT of energy.. much like boiling a kettle uses a LOT of energy.
@LucyInk121 They don't have heat lamps...they have a single space heater for the room that clicks off and on when the temp is right. It would never run for very long. Now that it is warm, the heater is just off.
@QualityQuills Hey Amanda, me again! my hedgehog is now about 4 months old now! and he's the one i was talking to you about his quilling! i don't know if you remember, but you told me to bath him and drizzle olive oil on his back. Anyway that helped for a month so i did it again and it helped a bit but not as much as last time!! like I said he's 4 months old and about 16 weeks old i think? and he's still quilling REALLY bad!! is this normal what should I do????? thanks Amanda ---Brenna.
Also what do you keep the temperature at in the room? And what do you keep the temperature at with the heater on? Sorry for all the question im getting my very first hedgehog soon so thank you so much for all the help with the videos!
Would you recommend having a heater? Is it necessary? I live in florida so it is never freezing cold haha and if i do get one how often should i have it on?
I am going to start breeding hedgies after summer. I am trying to get ideahs of cages. I want to be as professional and easy as I can... Do you have any cage vids up of tons of different types of cages? If not can you make one soon? Thanks! Maddie
I got news that Mokey was already trying to eat, she's not even 3 weeks old so I figured I'd better get things ready for her. I got everything for the C & C cage except the Coroplast. I found some at Lowes but it's a little too small. I'll be calling sign company's tomorrow. I went to Walmart, PetSmart, Soldans, Pruess's and the dollar store today and pretty much got everything...oh and JoAnn's to get fleece. Putting those cubes together was a workout. Now to get the Coroplast and I'll be done.
Hi from Lansing. Your video's are just what I needed. I will be getting my little girl in 3 or 4 weeks. She's just 2 1/2 weeks old now and born right here in Lansing. She is albino, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to name her. I will be building her cage in the next week. I love the C & C cage. You had said in one of your videos that you had a link to instructions on building a wheel, but I couldn't find the link. Could you give it again. Can't wait to see what you share next.
amanda put all your vidwos on your qality quills a fromless than three sisters. and i want to buy another heghog from you could you ship it pleas p.s. i live in germany.
I followed your instructions and added a cushioned 'floor-type' squares but may go to linoleum. Put in the hedgehog at 9 am and by the time I returned a 6 pm, the smell was pretty bad. Do you use anything to combat the smell?
@yellowpieslinger My hedgies are trained to use their litter pans, so I clean the litter pans daily and the wheels every other day to get the smelly waste out of the cages. The fleece stays pretty clean for a week or two.
My hedgehog always finds a way to get under the fleece liner I have in his cage, which knockeds over everything in his cage. Any suggestions on how I can keep the fleece down.
@AshyAlertt Something you can do is buy a strip of velcro at a craft store & put a piece on the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the liner so it sticks together in the corners and the hedgie cannot go under the fleece.
Yay! I got a hedgehog for Christmas :) but he won't let me trim his nails I tried everything in your video but he just won't let me :( any suggestions?
@selgomezfan323 If you've tried what I suggested in my nail trimming video, that's really all I have for you...that's what I do to trim my hedgies' nails. You could google it and get some advice from websites.
@QualityQuills can they have that small of a cage? also me and my sister want to put our hedgies tof=gether can they be in the same cage? they were born together sooooo????
@sing4savior The thermometers can be found at most pet stores...I got mine at a local exotic pet store, but chains like Petsmart and Petco have them. If you go to the video about Annie's cage, there is a link to a website where you can search for the materials for a C&C cage.
u just got to make a whole bunch of videos on lessthanthreesisters saying ur changing cause if someone is sub to u they will c u made more vids when they r on the home page
i wish i could start breeding a rodent... but sadly my bro's cat go extramly crazy ( not useing the litter box) when a litter is born and after for about a year... we have to give her up for 3 months..
@DreamehCreameh I personally like the C&C cages the best, but in my video coming up (like I said) I will explain the pros and cons and my opinions on different types of cages.
@goloet A sterilite cage is going to be cheaper than a C&C cage. The sterilite bins I have cost $12 each, whereas one set of cube for Annie's cage cost $16 and I needed 2 sets of cubes & the coroplast.
So you use cat food, what kind? Also how big is your tank?

Couple questions...
How strict is the temperature rule?
How strict is the cage size rule?
How much for one Hedgie plus starter supplies (will be using a Rubbermaid container for cage)?
Thanks so much. All of your videos have helped a lot!
