  • My Momma Says Obama - I'm Every Women!

  • If yoou look at the Chaka (second one to the left), it looks like one of her tities is about to pop out.

  • For me it will always be Chaka's song, just love it and the age

  • Sing that shit sister

  • I love the different Chaka looks and those awesome late 70's early 80's clothes and hair

  • This is when music was good

  • ... Mas acho a original mais interessante, que, aliás, foi a que eu conheci primeiro.

  • whitney did the back vocals on this one

  • I love Chaka as well but Whitney kilt it I mean she kilt all the remixes better than the originals. No disrespect but Whitney had a once and a Life time kind of voice

  • 1978, not the 80s.

  • Whitney Houston didn't sing this song to make it sound better. She most likely sang it because she loved it, loved Chaka, and wanted to pay tribute in a way. So why put it down?? Just say you like Chaka'z and leave Whitney's alone.

  • whitney houston's is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry I just repeated exactly what you said LOL

  • @marly1996 You mean nick minaj looks like Chaka khan. I thought so too. The only difference is chaka's features are God given

  • @RemixtheMyxx lol...you Crazy!!!

  • Written for Chaka khan by Ashton and Simpson back in 1978.

  • Chaka Khan's version is da TRUTH...nothin' but PURE SOUL....Right On.

  • oh, oh, oh, oh YESSSSSSSSSSSS CHAKA KHAN you're definitely every woman for me anytime :)

  • Nicki Minaj looks like Chaka Khan lol....to me

  • Me encanta esta mujer, es mejor ke whitney.

  • which one is whitney houston. they all look the same

  • @thr33wisemonks None there are Chaka Khan. Whitney Houston's voice is in the song.

  • both artists sang it well... but at 15 years old that Whitney Houston was, geezz... she's got a strong voice and it was so good... we will miss Whitney, R.I.P, we know that Chaka Khan was saddened by this news as well....

  • Both versions are great, both Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston are extremely talented singers.

  • @kja427 WHITNEY HOUSTON is singing back-up on this song(age 15), if you listen you can hear that she carries/singes ALOT on this track, so it's is as MUCH her song s it is Chaka Khans!

  • @VivianNLarsen she does no CARRY it but she is there forever.

  • She looks just like Jenifer Hudson.

  • I love Whitney's version. Plus, whitney did background vocals on this track....

  • She had nice tits

  • This Is One Of The Most Precious,Often Slept On,Black Female Voice's Of Our Time,But Because She Neva Was Pop,Like Whitney. We Tend To Overlook Her.."Thru The Fire" "Aint Nobody" "I Feel For You"ect. Not To Mention The Shit She Did Wit Rufus,In The 70's.Lets Not Wait Till She Passes. To Fully Embrace This Queen..Luv You Chaka..R.I.P Whitney..No You Could've Covered This Song Like You..

  • Speaking of Whitney, Chaka Khan and Jennifer Hudson will be doing a tribute to Whitney Houston tonight at the Grammys! So looking forward to it!

  • Whitney Houston was not trying to be like Chaka in any way. If you had any respect for Chaka, you would know that she was one of Whitney's biggest supporters throughout her entire career? Why? Because Chaka is one of the people who paved the way for Whitney's success. So all this hate on Whitney is really uncalled for. If Chaka saw these comments on her own videos, I'm sure she'd be appalled. All the haters out there with their hateful comments should be ashamed of themselves!

  • ha, i just read that whitney houston sang background vocals on here when she was 15.

  • @sole48341 same - and if u look at Whitney's film clip of the track from the early 90s Chaka is in it!

  • I have to agree with kja427 on this. Whitney Houston version of "I'm Every Woman" was okay. But Chaka Khan who according to what I'm aware of did the original version for this classic. Her vocal quality is remarkably stellar. She reaches the heavenly ear of GOD himself paying tribute to "BLACK WOMANHOOD!" I love you Chaka! They just don't make songs like this anymore!

  • What a CLASSIC by Miss Yvette Marie Stevens!!

  • the 1978 Chaka Khan she was every woman to me.

  • To all the women in my life friend and fam

  • the origional version be chaka whitney houston comes sloce but not as good as the queen

  • kja427...nobody said that whitney was better...they both did a great job...this is chaka's song though...im a total whitney fan but i give props to chaka...but u cant say whitney didnt fuck this song up..she sang her heart out...so just relax

  • @koolaidj12 really let these haters know. they tend to forget that Chaka Khan was one of Whitney's biggest supporters among the legends.

  • BEST VERSION. xox

  • yea buddy

  • es la real version de chaka la mejor con una de las mas bellas voces no por hacer menos a whitney tambien es una de mis idolas..charlyguero

  • She's so naturally beautiful and talented

  • 1 of the earliest music videos, really, & the original version by the VERY original vocal stylist, Ms Chaka Khan! : )

  • im a guy and i know this song is the shit

  • Chaka Knan still got it her voice is off the hook she had the Macy's Music Festival jumping this summer in Cincinnati every woman azz was shaking when she did this song

  • I grew up with this music too and i love THE music, when i hear this sort of music i just want to dance

  • the 80s effects it s kinda funny

  • Look at them tits moth watering

  • Chaka was so fine.

  • Chak Chak Chak Chak Chaka Khan Chaka Khan Chaka Khan Chaka Khan

  • Im a Man !

    But this is a Marvelous Song ! ! !

  • am i the only one who thinks nicki minja resembles her features? she will look just like chaka as she ages.

  • @Taliyah4u

    GUUUUUURRRRLLLLL SLAAAAM!

you r spot on that one!!!!

same eyes, lips & DEVASTATING cheekbones.

not to mention ample bod. *wink-wink*

i smell biopic for nic in the future.

Ms. Chaka, have you people call Nicki's people & hook it up. LOL!

    word. :-)

  • @Taliyah4u She should be so lucky...

  • @Taliyah4u SOOOO TRUE

  • I don't give a shit what people think: Whitney Houston could NEVER touch the quality of Mrs. Khan's original from 1978. For one thing, Mrs. Khan has more class than Whitney Houston. Nice job, Mrs. Khan; Keep it up!

  • @kja427 Yeah at least she aint a crack head :-)

  • @kja427 You know Whitney was a backup singer on this song, right?

  • @kja427 wots with the mrs kahn shit?

  • @YooTubeCritc what's with your dirty mouth?

  • @kja427 A-DOGGONE-GREE!!!!

  • @kja427 Why on earth are you even attempting to compare the talents of two extremely gifted women? One of the most useless comments I've seen on Youtube.

  • @kja427 This was her first hit record after leaving Rufus in 1979. I heard that she was so upset she couldn't do The Grammys last night. You know what's really sad. Chaka went through years where she couldn't get a Record Contract where Whitney always was signed to Arista and look at what happened.

  • @kja427 Really why does it have to be one sucks and one is awesome? Can't they both be good on their own merits ?? Whitney and Chaka Khan ...both great talents both do a wonderful job at this song.

  • @mlmr11 Seriously! They each epitomize their respective decades.

  • @kja427 I would agree Miss Khan does have more class

  • @kja427 Lol...Um. BOTH were on drugs(and got high together often) soooooo I'm not getting where the class or lack thereof fits the comparison between the two.

Both of the versions are classic and we should all be so lucky to have them in existence.

  • I can remember watching dance fever and they played this video. Great song...I use it for my workouts

  • Yeah, the FX are so amazing

  • Classic!

  • THIS STILL MY JAM!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!! EVERYONE REMADE THIS SONG AND IT WAS STILL GOOD BUT NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL (CHAKA KHAN).

  • I LOVE THE HAIR!!!

  • this is my song ,!!!! cause im every woman!!! mel

  • Hot!

  • perhaps the greatest voice and instrument of all time. This song is robust w/ fire and fiery. Chaka vocals are incomparable. She has no peer. Keep singing for all times

  • feel it

  • This will be dedicated to my mother.

  • Yes, I thought the same thing when I saw N Minaj , there is a strong resemblance.

  • omg is her top see through ? lol

  • sono il 222222° visitatore :-)

  • Hey girl hey!

  • Im surprised this was on MTV..they dont play music videos there no more.

  • The 80's - the decade of Big Hair.

  • I really dont understand why people are comparing Nicki and Chaka's talents

All were saying is they look alike

  • @RogerBravoLucas .. im NOT a woman and i LOVE this song.

  • @Konceited704 It is okay that you like it like a woman would. Yet, in your case, you can be every man instead of every woman.

  • I played this 45 over and over and over...I was so in love with Chaka as a kid. The B side was great as well "A Woman n a Man's World"

  • The queer anthem! LOL

  • Corrections to the comments made here..First, this song is from Chaka's solo debut album released in November of 1978, called CHAKA .She was still contractually recording with Rufus and officially split for good in 1981 after she and Rufus released the album "Camouflage." Secondly Chaka is doing the lead and background vocals on this song. She was one of the first geniuses (Marvin Gaye too) who did ALL the vocals back in the day. Lastly Whitney sang on Chaka's second album "Naughty" at age 17!

  • Chaka Khan Wow!!!! Very Talented!!!

  • @RogerBravoLucas then you have no taste in music...old school and both new is great but how could you say you DON'T like this song?!?!?

  • @RogerBravoLucas Good.

  • They do favor each though.

  • TO ALL THE " L A D I E S"

  • DAMN CHAKA!!! 2:30-2:48 you made my ass feel like a woman.....and im a fucking man LMAO!!! Timeless classic!!!

  • I love this woman!!

  • Inside every woman is a little bit of Chaka Khan!

  • what a wonderful year 1979 was for nick and val. chaka with this song and diana with the boss album and nick and val's own found a cure. nick will be missed. i loved the way nick and val constructed songs. they were like little movies/books with great stories to tell.

  • thanks ashford for so wonderful music you gave us. r.i.p.

  • thank u nick ashford. r.i.p.

  • This song was written by Nick Ashford for his wife Valerie Simpson. They were a phenomenal songwriting duo. Their biggest hit as "Ashford & Simpson" was "Solid". R.I.P. Mr. Ashford -- you will be missed.

  • DEFINATELY I REMEMBER THIS SONG WHEN IT CAME OUT I WAS IN SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA IN LATE 1978 EARLY 1979. WOW!!!!! Extraño los años de la época DISCO finales de los 70, MIss them so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How can you ever top 5 Chaka Kahns?

  • Such a powerful voice

  • Chaka didn't believe in wearing a bra back then...but I sure as hell ain't complaining.

  • @cleteconnor That comment of yours made me laugh out loud for real! LOLL!

  • What a wondrous, kick-*ss anthem. Just great.

  • this song came out in the 80,s not 70,s this came out around 1989 or 1990

  • @TheBabygirlcrystal it came out in 1978. whitney houston covered it for bodyguard in the 90s.

  • @sole48341 Whitney IS singing in this! she performed backups for Chaka Khan, she's doing all the 'mmmms' and harmonies 'OF confusion in your minds' and on the F5's especially.

  • @TheBabygirlcrystal yep this was a top ten hit for Chaka Kahn in 1978 written by Ashford and Simpson

  • @TheBabygirlcrystal No this song came out in 1978, I remember it well, elementary school, 4th grade and it was my favorite song. I grew up on Chaka's music.

  • For those of you saying, Chaka WAS fine. Chaka IS FINE for a woman in her 50s, who has been Through the damned Fire & made it through to write about it & share it to people, some of whom, obviously don't appreciate true artists, humans who care about the world. Google: INTEGRITY.

  • This, actually, was 1 of the first music videos (ha!). Chaka, usually MOST innovative in the studio (especially with the late great Arif Mardin) got a head start here. & she's always got mega outfits, that's for sure. The song was written FOR HER by the Motown songwriters, husband/wife artists, Ashford & Simpson whom Chaka played with on Q's "Stuff Like That" (both versions!). From the solo debut, "Chaka" (Warner Bros.).

  • Chaka was fine back in the day

  • @smoothnubian

she's still fine now mate....Chaka the Milf...!

  • @smoothnubian Mrs.Khan todavía es bella @ 58 años de edad.

  • Nicki Minaj Looks Like Chaka Khan !

  • LOL I THOUGHT THEY TOOK THIS VIDEO DOWN

  • Thanks for the post.

  • Nicki Minaj DOES look a lot like Chaka Khan! and before everyone starts with the same played out "oldschool vs newschool" arguments. Im not comparing there talents. Chaka is incomparable..... but Nick Minaj could totally be her daughter or neice. The cheek bones, the eyes..they are both beautiful women. simple as that.

  • @aquariqueen Yes she does! I thought I was the only one noticed that, but now I know that i'm not! Check out Nicki Minaj's promo videos she did before she got to be popular. Hell yeah, she look like she could be Chaka's daughter!

  • @aquariqueen

    Well Said

  • @aquariqueen However, Nicki Minaj is fake.

  • @aquariqueen thankyou i said the same thing!

  • @aquariqueen Wow, they seriously do have the same/similar facial structure, that's really cool

  • @aquariqueen i really haven't notice that unitl you said it but i can totally see it!

  • Chaka Be Fine...damn!

  • And to think MTV showed songs like this. Now its all dickheads

  • @misanthrophes what happened to this music?!

  • damn you gunna tease with her dancing around for me lol thx @209esperanza

  • Has anyone else noticed how much Nicki Minaj looks like Chaka Khan? Too bad she doesn't sing like her, too! :-)

  • @FitzDaily don't dare disrespect Chaka Khan by comparing her to that talentless bimbo

  • My all time jam and my all time fav singers......One of the last LEGENDS left !

  • Happy B'Day Chaka Khan

  • Nicki Minaj (spelling) should definitley play Chaka in the Biopic, don't yall see the resemblance?

  • @canweallgetalong yeah she looks just like chaka looks like she could be nicki's mother

  • This is truely a classic!!!!

  • originals are always better te whiney houston one was OK....imo

  • love this song from 1978. not the 80's.

  • I'm officially empowered!! Love Chaka&when she sings this song!

  • I thought it was a sin to be this beautiful and talented. Was a deal made with the Dark One, Chaka? Whiney did a great job with this song. No one else could have even approached this song but Miss Houston but this is the only version for me.

  • @brxgrl523 I agree with you 100%. Whitney and her mother sang backup on Chaka's original 1978 version. That's one reason why Whitney's sounds so true. I love both, but of course we all acknowledge Chaka's is the ultimate version!

  • nicki minaj looks like her in the face lol

  • Best flow eva!
