CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR VIDEO..SOMETIMES I THINK..THE EARLY 1970S IS THE BEST ERA OF THE LOWRIDERS..I LIKE TOO MUCH THE CUSTOMIZING OF THAT TIME,THAN THE PRESENT...
Some of them are just way cool, some are just way overdone. But it was a very cool time in history and Auto Mo Bill fans added their personal touches, to be a part of the scene, and aren't you glad they did! Great clip Man, thanks for uploading it.
@coxjoseph that's my uncle dungi. When that picture was taken he was in the Imperial C.C.,he's old school. He is one of a hand full of guys that lifted cars back in the late 60s early 70s till now!
EVERYBODY ON HERE SEEMS TO BE PRETTY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THE SUBJECT.IM RUNNING 15S AND I KNOW THEY AINT A REAL LOWRIDER SIZE.BUT WHAT SIZE TIRES DOES ANYBODY RECOMMEND FOR THEM.AND WHERE DO I BUY THEM.THANX HOMIES
@DJPelonBoy "ordinary guy"-joe bataan popular under ground song back in the day second song is "never goodbye baby"
by a east l.a. chicano band the village callers last one is also a east l.a. chicano band, song is called "brown baby" by lil willie g and thee midniters.
Astro Supremes,Daytons, Bellflower exhuast. those were the damn days! Candy piant and not a stupid ass 24 inch rim in site. Cars were called Bombs and not donks and other stupid names. Hopefuly more people will make real deal lowriding a big thing again instead of the riding high crap thats out now.
Deep dish Rockets, mcleans, tru rays, Biscuit Tuck and wine fountains, Loco Lacquer micro and jumbo flake. Floating Hydraulics and cars that were driven daily not just to shows. Ride with Pride.
orale nice video i see the interior of my 66 comes out at 0:35 sec and my color bars at 2:27 also the interior of my old 73 caprice at 2:39 my 8 track stereos and reverbs at 5:58 you did a good job putting this clip together lots of firme rides and accessories
@MrTRUSPOKES that's cool that you posted those up because alot of people have heard of old school but not alot of people know what it is. hopefully this has illustrated a good enough picture.
be careful with supremes, they're not all made the same or equal. lots of cheap ones are very poorly made. i think the good ones are made by AWC, allied wheel components, the backsides of the wheel are reinforced with plates.
Bill HInes and people like Larry Watson and Joe Bailon are the original creators of lowered cars (called Kustoms then) who invented candy apple paint, laced paint, metalflake, paneling, hydraulics, etc ....what would eventually turn in to Lowriders in the late 60's/early 70's. Of course subtle changes were made like daytons, supremes, etc but the real obvious changes were the very smaller tires all the way around - like 5.60's.
Bill Hines is a legend who has been building cars for himself as well as many others for the pat 50 years. He is one of maybe 6 people that are responsible for creating custom changes to cars that LATER found its way to the Latino Low Rider culture and style.
that video takes me back in the day. it reminded me of my dads cars ,and he had a few ,i have a old school of my own .take a look at it if you can.on youtube 64 impala on foose dub
badass rides, it would be cool to be in that era where alot of people drove lowriders. do u know a website or a place where i can get these astro supreme wheels? i want them for my cutlass supreme that i'm fixing up into a lowrider
well if you live in L.A. the place to get them is in Norwalk,Whittier,Longbeach,or Bellflower, the rim shops are stocked with Supreme's,and Cragars,If your lucky maybe even Rockets or true spokes. There a little more expensive online but you might get a good deal on Ebay just make sure to get the lugnuts that go with them because there made special for the supremes to give the wheel better support and so you don't lose a wheel on the highway.
I would love to see cars like that on the roads again....those had such class.:)

Most people today think that Lowirders had started with Hip-Hop/Rap Culture, but if they look back further they'll see that it didn't

what about the ones from cali? like the ones they show on ebay?
chicano67801 2 years ago
most of the supremes made now should have a flat braket on the backs but you would still need to get the right luggs .
stevil1967 2 years ago
alright thanks. ima get some for my cutlass supreme. their on ebay too right the lugnuts? i think theyre made specially for the supremes arnet they?

was Mr. Bill Hines from California?
ans was he into low riders too or just profited off of low riders? thanks

I think Bill is originally from Chicago but he's know for his work out of Paramount and Longbeach California.
stevil1967 2 years ago
brownmachine6969 , Your question doesn't make sense.
How could Bill Hines profit off of something that he helped invent? And yes, he was from California
V8Deuce 1 year ago
i see you must not be into low riders your self. let me break it down to you(v8Deuce).
i asked if he's from California, cuz i new someone from texas around his age with the same name and last name.
the other question i asked .
if he's into it or just for profit.. that means is he or has he ever been in a car club for the fun of it.
or is he doing the labor of fixing up cars for others?
that's all, shouldn't be too confusing....
