This is indeed extemely funny! It gets more hilarious as it goes along, culminating with the funniest parts with the grocer's manic expression at 1:14-1:15 and the customer saying, "On second thought..." when it was really more like on twentieth thought!
Also love the line about Mary's mother having false teeth and the grocer feigning laughter with the customer!
It probably was but I didn't record it. I recorded all of these segments I've been posting 21 years ago and for some dumb reason, at the time, I wasn't interested in the muppet segments. I missed hundreds of funny ones too. I deeply regret that now. I had no idea then that Sesame Street would quit airing ANY and All of the classics that I grew up with.
I guess all parties have to end. At least we have Youtube. I thought I'd go through the rest of my life without ever seeing "Jazz #10" again. Ah, to die with no regrets...
Do you have PBS Kids Sprout? If yes, then you can try taping Muppet Sketches from Play With Me Sesame, because they air stuff from the 70's and 80's, the same applies for the episodes of Sesame Street they air on that station.
@ShadesBelow03 So I've heard. I wouldn't have known, because I don't have any form of cable or satellite tv. Come to think of your remark, there's one problem with how Sesame Street is right now (when shown on the regular PBS Kids station). This current season, (and last season for that matter), there haven't been ANY new "Elmo's World" segments. I think that this would be a perfect opportunity to get rid of the segment altogether, don't you think?
@classicssmfan Since the new season started (my son watches it every morning), they still show the same boring segments. Yes, that would be nice, but it ain't gonna happen. Quite a change from the days when they made 130 episodes a season, now it's down to (I think) 25, and they show the same eight or nine episodes of them over and over. Bleccchh!
The customer is usually clueless...er, I mean always right. I laughed out loud at the part after the customer remembers that his mother in law has false teeth, and the shopkeeper looks like he wants to wring his neck!
awesome!!

mstatz, you are SO the king.
Is that the ending of "Jack Be Nimble" at the beginning? As in "Jack broke every bone in his body, frog"?

@classicssmfan
They used to, but now show only later/recent stuff, and seem to only show the same 7 episodes over and over!
