@thatniggbeme7 Just make sure you output at the resolution and frame rate you captured at (1920x1080 @ 23.976fps in this case). When I'm exporting from Premiere Pro, I use None/Uncompressed as the compression, which makes a huge (~60gb) file, I then import that into VirtualDub and through that compress to H264, which is a good codec for distribution through the web.
@FlavoredHeart Hey. It was shot at 16:9 (1920x1080) then cropped during editing to a less tall 2.39:1, which is more like a ratio used in cinema. I think that equates to chopping the top and bottom 18% off of a 1920x1080 frame. In retrospect it's a bit extreme!
@BortOBob No that's the only reason. I realize there's no real point when it's for web distribution and that you're just losing pixels, but I think it makes it look a bit more dramatic. It's something I'm still on the fence about whether to do/not do in future.
@graemeh2 I agree that it does add to it, somewhat, but perhaps when used in moderation. If the letter boxes are too big, then they end up being distracting.

Sorry for the lame question, but what's this video aspect ratio? It looks really nice :)

Any reason for the letter boxing, other than to add to the film look?
