  • HI, Your video presentation is fine, but I feel that your examples and explanation are a little confusing instead of being simple and straight forward. I just mentioned this so that in future videos you can give examples which will be more simpler so that the audience can get it fast. I hope you would accept this as a positive criticism.

  • Nice and a really good presentation but 4NF is not BCNF. the two are completely different concepts.

BCNF only occurs when there are functional dependencies and 4NF can be achieved when there exists Multivalued dependencies.

  • If there is no constraint that prohibits one person to be HOD of more than one department the example doesn't work. I guess "alokvt" commented that HOD and Professor code may not be able to determine the %time alone but in this particular example that is not the case. I guess there is an implicit condition that department and HOD has 1 to 1 relationship.

  • M sorry but BCNF explaind here is Doubtful We have Prof code,Depart,HOD,%Time And Composite Keys: a) Prof code+Depart b) Prof Code+HOD But i think Department Should be common key here instead of Prof. code. Because how can you determine %time with the help of Prof code and HOD???? you cant,You need Department, to determine %time in each Department so new composite keys are (Acc. to Me) prof code + depart Hod + depat Both can give you % time spend in Each Depart :) Alok Gupta kkp Punjab
