You have more to worry about being in harm's way than Kevin. Human's are the most unpredictable species on the planet. And the most destructive. Most parents aren't as good to their kids as Kevin is to the lions. Those are the kids that grow up to become predators themselves.

@odalV Look up George Adamson on here if you want to see this type of interaction with wild lions. He took lions from zoos (normally one year or younger) and taught them how to hunt and survive in the wild then released them. He did this with many lions for many years. He would go out and see them now and then and have no trouble even approaching them while they were eating. He is also the old man you see in the "Christian the Lion" videos with his shirt off. Worse part? He was killed by humans.

I heard Richardson has DVDs out, but I only ever bought his book. Part of the Pride is amazing. I cried at the part when he said that his lioness' Meg and Ami were taken from him, and he went to get them back. People were amazed when he called their names and they came out running from a group of animals to greet him.

just wanted to add that while I think this is amazing, the harmony comments are a bit exaggerated.
it is NOT natural for humans to interact with lions, there is a reason why our ancestors feared them. this is not saying what kevin is doing is wrong or not to be encouraged, but it is certainly not the order of nature for humans as a whole to become a part of the lion pride.

Of course humans kill more humans than lions do. Lions only live in Africa and India, while we live all over the world. We aren't the preferred prey of lions. We have opposable thumbs and the means to invent and use weapons.
