Question about the GoPro, once the thing that the camera mounts to is stuck to a board, can it be taken off and put on other boards? Or if you want to use the camera on other boards do you have to buy a new mounting bracket or get FCS fin plugs in the nose of your board?

@hudsonlovestosurf each board will need its own FCS plug glassed into it, then you can interchange the camera between boards..

@DeMarsMusic you can, but I wouldn't trust it, the ocean has no mercy on material items lol... Def get the 'FCS' plugs mounted on your board, and use a high visibility float attached to the housing to make it positively buoyant.

I just got my HD hero. this thing is amazing in every way shape and form. also, it has a 4:3 super wide and tall setting, perfect for surfing. I don't surf though, I use it more for motorcycle riding.

nah it's easy to reverse the orientation, you needn't remove anything just remove the mount bolt, reverse the cam and re attach the bolt.

Awesome video mate. Curious as to what program you use to edit the go pro's footage? I got my HD the other day and tried using pinnacle studio 14, but can't seem to output to 60fps. Also when i try cut a small portion of the footage (catching a wave for example) and slow it to 50%, it slows the whole clip, not just the portion i selected, and then ends up being an entirely different part of the video.

Do you use a program to split the one large file up into sections before editing?

Nice video pukeitup. I have a GoPro and this might help you and others:

You can set it to PAL/NTSC in the settings menu

Use the leash that comes with the surfing mounts (or adhere a little closed cell foam to the back of the housing)

Rain-X on the lens is key for splashing conditions

Not sure about your video issue I havent noticed it

My photo files are 4:3 2592x1944 5mp photos (according to my Mac)
