I'm glad you chose to use Sadako from Ringu 0 too, Yukie Nakama is an awesome actress, she played a good part. I'm waiting impatiently for Ju-On 3! It's out soon. Ringu and The Eye are awesome trilogies, and Ju-On is soon to be a trilogy too, I just hope American influence didn't ruin the series since 3 comes after the remakes.

And not all American remakes are bullshit,

I'll agree, most of the Japanese originals are better, but I liked the Grudge a lot more than I liked Ju-On. (Don't bite my ears off, it's my opinion.) While Ju-On was definitely the scarier of the two, the American remake has a great story, and ties everything up very nicely in one film. Also the ghosts looked a lot better and the film just looked stunning.

Asian horror is so much better than American horror. One reason: American directors think that gore and blood is scary. Tt isnt, its disgusting and stupid. Now asians use the creepy factor with freaky, ghastly and paranormal images which, well, are what a horror movie is all about.

it's really the difference between psychological horror (asian horror movies at their best are terribly hard to follow)versus surprise tactics, childhood/adulthood nightmares and gore (american horrors love to use a lot of blood and surprise factors)

it all depends on what you like. i like both for different reasons.
