  • @100tonee Thanks Tony - just been watching him on tv earlier !

  • Nice post - columbo was a great show always on at my house as a kid growing up and even today when it on its on at my house

    take care my friend

  • The most underrated actor of his generation. The Columbo character will never die...He will forever be a world icon. RIP my friend.

  • @weamjb I`m sure that`s true .Every actor is remembered for their best role , and with Peter it will definatley be Columbo.

  • Hi Mohawk! Great Job! I've always been big Peter Falk Fan! The Great Race! The Columbo Movies! Some of My Most Favorite are The ones Mr. Falk did with Jack Cassidy! The Magician, where Mr. Cassidy played The Great Santini! I can still hear the drum playing in the background! The one he did at the Winery was another one of my favorites! Mr. Cassidy wasn't in that one. Funny thing about it is that my father, we're not close, but my father and Peter Falk had the same kind of hair. Black and wavy.

  • @BrooKeemBaBaYeem Yeah - I remember the Jack Cassidy episode . The one at the winery you mentioned was called ` Any old port in a storm ` and it starred the great Donald Pleasence .There were some great ` villan` co-stars - William Shatner , Ray Milland , even Johnny Cash ! I might have to get that box set of dvd`s someone mentioned - I bet they will sell like hot cakes now . Sometimes you don`t realise how much people mean to you until they have gone . That might apply to you and your dad !

  • Such a legend - never to be forgotten . I`ve been looking at a box set of dvd`s recently , I think it has every episode . I might just get it now - this sad news has made my mind up ....

  • @raynard501 There were so many great ones - my favourites include the Leonard Nimoy ( Mr Spock ) episode -as the heart surgeon . Then there was Robert Culp as the photographer - and the great Patrick McGoohan ( I think he did two episodes ) - one as a Military Academy officer and another earlier one which I can`t remember - someone help me out here ! Great movies .

  • Rest in peace!

  • @sorintm75 Very sad news . Somehow it`s like another chapter in your life closes .

  • Why do I get this feeling I always loved him. He was always there at the back of my mind. A truly legendary person on & off screen.

And yes, great tribute by the singer.

  • @BluntButTrue1 There`s another Gilbert song with the lyrics " When you read about somebody special , who has met an untimely end - although you didn`t even know them personally , it feels like you`ve lost a friend " . Very true in this case .

  • Brilliant , A tribute to my very favourite detective by one of my favourite singers Thankyou!

  • @Vinoshane Thanks Vinny . You know how much I love Gilbert - but THIS guy holds special memories for me too . Sat there with dad in our living room , our old dog `Rocky` laid out on the carpet in front of the fire - and Columbo on the telly . What I`d give to do it again , just one more time .
