  • I admit it, I don't really *get* Bollywood.

    China, Korea, Japan... no problem. They all picked up the French New Wave and Italian Neorealism and did amazing things. Shin-Sang Ok, Wong Kar-Wai and Kurosawa all seem normal to me. And awesome.

    But I fail at India. I don't get it. Even Salman Rushdie called Bollywood "decidedly trashy". Where does a foreigner start mining for awesomeness in Indian movies?
