That's very cool, but I take it it doesn't function as a normal games playing C64 any more? he he. Some of the sounds you made there reminded me of old Sci-Fi films from the 60's or something :) nice one mate. C64 rules
thnx! for the compliment. and no you are quite right.. its a gutted C64.. only the keyboard is in there.. the logicboard has been removed and disassembled.. needed the sid soundchip for another project.
it doesn't.. noise is a random waveform.. a sinus is definitely not. but if you mean, it makes unpleasant sound. just like every other instrument.. thats the whole point of music.. that it makes sound.. that it is unpleasant is just an opinion.. also this movieclip wasnt ment to make beautiful sounds.. its just to show of a thing i did with a C64, midibox and MAX/MSP..

as for the haters, well, with everything you do, there is a possibility that people dont like it, or just dont see the point.
and its a good chance they need stuff like this to be done for them.. and that's a good thing, cuz i can profit from that situation.
there will always be innovator and followers, although i'm not sure i'm much of an innovator though.

I must customize my C-64 like this too :)
Must be the most cheapest way to get in additive
synthesis. Definitely cheaper then trying to get
a Kawai K-5, K-5000 or
Rmi Harmonic Synthesizer ;)
