  • I served, and I was called gay and thought people thought I was gay, and Im not a fag by any means. The troops are not as open minded as you might think. It is unfair to subject normal stright troops to have to live with them in such close quarters until there is enough room to provide seperate quarters which isn't going to happen.

  • your right desease was a bad choice of words genetic defect hows that

  • 95 percent of people in the military do not want to serve with homosexuals. They do not want to know whom they are sharing confined close quarters with. homos do not have to tell anyone that they are gay. it is their own private business, and they should keep it that way,and thats the way it should stay. most people in the military wouldn't be proud to serve with someone who is openly gay. thats just the facts. again its no one's business. i have never heard anyone say anything otherwise.

  • @3dartistguy- you are very closedmined sir!

  • science is on the threshold of identifying

the gay gene once they do it can be isolated and treated as other diseases

  • It's the girls I feel sorry for. They live in fear of a big butch dyke hassling them. 99.9% male homosexuals can be easily beaten up.

    Best advice I was ever issued;

"God hates queers. Which saves you lot the job of beating them up."

  • @llangennith- You are very closedmined, if you really think that something like that is true!!! I feel sorry for all of the homosexuals that have to deal with your constant stupidity daily!!!

  • Also, has anyone heard of "Contract Marriages?" That's when you give a random chick 200 bucks a month to reap the benefits of being married in the military (Off base housing, extra pay)...They marry without actual relationship just to rip off the government. Now, are you telling me that Private Charlie and Private Larry won't just get a "Civil Union" and the military HAS TO honor it? But, no, that won't happen right? The hardest part about contract marriage is finding a chick that will do it.

  • If you hate them so much, why not put them in harm's way?

  • Sodomites are very welcome in the US military. In fact the Air Force was set up to give them a home.

  • I think you mean the Navy....

  • Dude, shut the fuck up. I'm all for the policy in place, but your type of rhetoric just points to a personal problem in your soul. Get a fucking grip and stop trying to steal the argument with your backwards ass good ol' country Fag Hatin'.

  • Dude the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy works fine. I don't think people in the military care/want to know/need to know...It's a professional enviroment. I know this is hard to believe for government workers, but it's true. Nobody gives a shit, just follow regulations and get in line and shut your gay or straight mouth.

  • In an environment where you are required to trust someone with your life, forcing people to be deceitful is a counter productive policy.

  • 1st place

  • if he was a Christian, he wouldn';t be against this "discrimination": and don't ask don't tell isn't discrimination...servicemembers don't want to know another servicemember's is gay!..the military isn't a for a social experiment. Again, being gay is nobodies business but your own...Don't ask, Don't Tell was put into place by the Clinton regime...

  • Don't ask, don't tell forces members to be deceitful. In an environment where trust and honesty are essential to survival can you really say it is a good policy?

  • Deceitful? are you kidding me? In a world of liars? Why must they tell everyone that they're gay? servicemembers don't want to know anyone is gay. They share quarters in close confinement and they want the assurance that no one of the same sex is attracted to them. Its none of anyone'e business if you're gay and especially its no one's business in the military...Either you have don't ask dont tell, which works, or you have a complete ban...DADT works if you want to serve.

  • No one is suggesting that you be required to divulge your sexual orientation when you sign up, simply that you not be fired if your sexual orientation is discovered or revealed.

Firing people for being gay forces people to hide their identity.

  • DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL means that the military cannot investigate you to see if you're gay and BUT IF YOU reveal that you are gay to the military, you can be fired. Gays want to be able to tell without being fired and thats just not going to happen.

  • If the policy were that anyone who reveals their sexual preference will be expelled from the military there would not be an issue. The problem is that you are fired for being gay, not being fired for revealing your sexuality.

  • Right, because homosexuality is not a lifestyle that is condusive towards being in the military. Again, servicemembers live in close confined spaces and they want to be able to relax in their own spaces where someone isn't attracted to them. Thats why there are male space and female spaces and why they're not co-ed...the military is not a social experiement...being gay is a choice. I have never seen any other evidence otherwise, and thast lifestyle doesn't mesh well with being in the military.

  • ah, the homosexuality is a 'choice' argument. Now we all know you are just uncomfortable with unwanted attention, now you know how girls feel 90% of the time. Get over yourself.

  • Dude, this is the MILITARY. It isn't a social experiment. Those guys are charged in defending the country with their Lives if need be. Some of my best friends are in the military. They don't like the homosexuals in their private close quarters. I wouldn't like it either. They're always on call, like Firefighters or the police. The only reason why the homos want to serve is because they want to live in close quarters with stright men. Don't deny it. It has nothing to do with serving their country!

  • I am sure there are a number of homophobic people serving in the military. The military isn't about make people comfortable, it is about having the most skilled people performing the needed tasks.

You are grasping at straws when you suggest that gay men and women only serve to get close with their straight counter parts.

The hate you have is your issue, if you don't like it don't serve.

  • You must realize that the military is not a place that is condusive to the gay lifestyle. If you want to serve, serve in secet. Again, no servicemember wants to know other's sexual preferences. Im close friends with servicemembers and I also served, and I know what they do and don't like. Doesn't the opinion of servicemembers count for anything? They don't want to know. Why must you gays tell everyone? Shouldn't servicemembers have a say about whom they serve with?

  • First, not gay. You do not need to be gay to support gay rights.

Second, nobody wants a gay pride parade they just want to not be fired if their sexuality is discovered. Homosexuals are perfectly capable of being professionals the question is are heterosexuals like you capable of being an adult around homosexuals.

Again, no one wants to scream it from the rooftops, they just don't want it held over their head.

  • your're the one who said if they can't tell people they're gay they're living a life of deceit. I said the DADT policy works because it keeps their personal lives private...the current policy means that the military won't investigate.,,and nowadays, they would have to be caught in the act of doing something...a servicemember can't just say they're gay in order to get out of the military...they would have to prove it.

  • I'm in the military myself. 17 years of service in fact and what you are saying is ridiculous. It's ok for straight servce men and women to flaunt the fact that they're straight and bring someone of the opposite sex to a military ball. They can celebrate their love just fine, yet homosexuals have to hide who they are. As a person who has fought for freedoms for this country for EVERY AMERICAN I think that's deplorable.

  • Have you ever shared close quarters in the military? Surely you have. Its not rediculous. its a deviant lifestyle that people choose to live. I don't know anyone in the military other than yourself who is in favor of this. Do you tell every aspect of your personal life with everyone in the military? Why do you think there are seperate quarters for men and women, nad now you favor allowing the fox to live in the henhouse? DADT works and has worked fo the last 17 years, like it or not.

  • It is very ridiculous and being gay is not a choice. Do you choose to be straight or are you naturally attracted to the other sex. You should try readiing those books that I named and you will have insight. No one wants to flaunt anything. Gay people should be able to serve just like everyone else. I seriously doubt that you were a good servicemen. You are to protect the rights of all Americans. Not just the heterosexuals.

  • youre a great dude for standing up for whats right. Equality.

  • Why don't you read "The sexual brain" where it says, "the structure of the anterior hypothalamus, an area of the brain that governs sexual behavior, differs in male homosexuals and heterosexuals. You should also read, "Biology and homosexuality: implication of neuroendocrinological and neuroanatomical studies" where it says, "compared with heterosexual men and women, gay men have a larger anterior commisure, which is a bundle of neurons connecting the right and left hemispheres of the brain."

  • Furthermore, did you choose to be straight? You cannot help who you are attracted to! Those books I listed are really good. Drop by the library.

  • Absolutely. He probably cannot give an example of when the ommittance of sexual orientation in a military conversation could POSSIBLY put any lives at risk.

  • They don't have to be deceitful, they simply have to follow the SAME regulations as everyone else and keep their sexuality OUT OF TRAINING AND OFF THE BATTLEFIELD. Cuz that is what the deal is RIGHT NOW. Give me a situation where someone's sexual orientation the lack of which puts lives at risk. I bet you can't.

  • No one wants people to declare their sexuality, but if it happens to be discovered you are kicked out for being gay. Asking people to separate their personal lives from work is futile, especially in a line of work that can take over your life 100% for years on end.

The fact that men and women getting fired from the military for being homosexual puts everyone else at risk. This most recently occurred when a marine was fired because of his sexual orientation, he happened to be a translator.

  • You've no idea how difficult it is to be "Discovered." In order for this to happen, someone has to report you up the ranks also providing evidence and your command then makes a decision whether to pursue the matter. You pretty much have to TRY to get caught: IE Performing Fellacio on your fireteam leader on duty with a camcorder on Screaming a Village People song with the Military Police on the phone. The guy probably tried to grab his Sergeant's wee wee. Trust someone who knows.

  • How difficult it is to get discovered is not the point, the point is that you can be fired for no other reason than your sexual orientation.

Why don't we fire anyone who reveals that they are straight, after all for that to happen you would have to perform fellatio on your squad leader on camera while on duty....

  • your a stupid bigot

  • how can a white supremist join the millitary? not sure, but when he can get in over someone who has a different sexual orientation. something in my opinion is seriously fucked.

  • you realize there was no point in posting that since no one is gonna see it right?

  • lawls

  • you saw it , did you not?
