Please excuse my ignorance. The propeller is so small. How can it get off the ground? Is this plane a smaller version of the real one? Thanks for sharing.
WOW! Thanks for info. I was wondering the same thing. The manufacturers must have re-tooled to fabricate the whole aircraft. I admire such dedication.
It's a spitfire mk 26 - they come in kit form starting at about AUD$180,000 not including engine, propeller or instruments. You can get a fully pimped-out engine for about AUD$70,000 that fulls near enough to 400bhp I think. The airframe's rated to 4g and tested to 8-9. It's ridiculously cool by default and I'd gladly sell your mother for half a deposit on one. But the silhouette just doesn't look terribly like the original Spitfire, and that's the bit I like most. I'm still getting one, but.
I think it's mostly in the nose, which you can change with some kind of kit they sell from the place that makes it. It might also come with the nose job standars, I'm not sure.
Very nice job, you should be proud...Don
