My wife and I were there this past September and we saw two sharks and that was really cool. Another thing I was impressed with was all of the big stingrays around. They seemed pretty docile. The stop at Cococay was our favorite part of the trip. We were on the Majesty of The Seas ship.
Just got back from this "paradise". Unable to swim due to thousands of jelly fish which encircle the island. Nature trail was the only cool part of the trip. Saw a baby shark, stingray and lots of fish. Royal Caribbean places fake coral in the water to attract aquatic life. A terrible place to swim but great place to snorkel. Half Moon Cay (Carnival) is 100X better if you are looking for a beach/swim destination.
I agree. Don't plan on returning to their island. Didn't impress me much, except the shark! ...But Half Moon Cay did! Check out my video of our day there.
I love cococay! It's beautiful! I went inside the water and I saw a sting ray! I freaked out but then I just sat there looking at all the water creatures! I miss the Bahamas! I went on Soverign of the seas( I think that's how you spell it) I can't wait to go back! Roayl Caribbean rocks!
I'm going to Cococay in two weeks, and this video is making me think twice about going in the water.... I would die!!!!!!! your video is soooo cool!!!!
It's a beautiful island! You'll love it! Just be warned! lol! This was my 2nd trip there & 1st encounter EVER! Now I know why I was so scared on those jet-ski's. It was a blast tho! I knew there was something out there! We were close to the kids waterpark, out in the ocean. Imagine how many were swimming around those kids? OMG!!! That was the 2nd shark that came right up to us that day in 3' deep water so they're definitely NOT shy! We actually laid out on lounge chairs in the water prior! lol!
Nurse sharks are common those waters. I would be more concern about jellyfish migration.

I went there three years ago. Beautiful beach, but I didn't see a shark. I did see some large eagle rays and a barracuda.

It's actually a sucker shark- they are the things you see attatched to the bigger sharks, sucker sharks have no "real" teeth.
They are harmless. Really are carp that look like sharks.
You can tell by the fast swimming action.

Actually a nurse shark

@dugger80 Correction, it's a Caribbean reef shark, which grow to over 6' with really BIG teeth for biting!... not sucking! lol! Thanks for the laugh!
