  • I like the big 1970's US cars.

  • They're all beautiful, but the 2 door is absolutely gorgeous!

  • NOW THAT is a LINCOLN not the 1 we drive today...

  • OMG!! now THERE's a REAL American car!! what a shame ODUMBA is trying to make us into the United States of EUROPE and having small cars be the norm! Give me back those 70s ginormous wonderful land yachts any day over the CRAP that's supposed to be a car made today!

  • @kerryincolumbus First of all, "ODUMBA" has nothing to do with cars shrinking. CAFE standards were signed into law by Gerald Ford, and most domestic companies began downsizing shortly afterward to avoid tax penalties.

Second of all, Europe makes larger cars than us. The Mercedes S-class, BMW 7-series, and other flagship sedans are uncompromised RWD V8s. They serve as an example of what Cadillac and Lincoln should have striven for.

  • The Lincoln Leviathan.

  • Thanx for uploading this......Luxury cars use to be a work of art.....now they look like everything else.

  • Ford really doesn't like change... in 1979, these were the biggest, gas guzzlingest cars you could get, but they still sold pretty well. GM had downsized all their cars by that point and in 1980 Ford finally had to follow suit with the Lincolns. Then they held out with the Panther platform until 2011, and by that point the basic platform was over 30 years old.

  • American cars had integrity back then. They were the stuff dreams were made of by every young man aspiring to when his income could stand it. Foreign cars in those days were driven only by those who were judged as eccentrics, even the ones who owned Mercedes' and Volvos. How times have changed, and not much for the better.I now own an import too,an Equus, because we no longer make any large luxury cars, and this comes closest to me.Velvet smooth and whisper quiet until you loose those 429 horses!!

  • @Mrtriumphchopper They were the stuff dreams were made of by every young man aspiring to when his income could stand it. You got that right on....When I was 19 I only wanted a Lincoln and bought a Mark III....a year later a towncar. If I were able to afford the upkeep I would buy cars like this and use them as a daily driver. I don't care how fuel innefficient they are they were beautiful cars.

  • @ELECTRICCLOCK Thanks for your reply. You and I have the same taste in cars,EXCELLENT.My first was a lightly used '67 Continental sedan, powder blue,a marvelous example of American know-how,respected the world over.I want one again as a weekend driver, damn the cost of fuel! I got 18 mpg, cruise set, from a massive 462 V8,not much worse than a modern StupidUglyVehicle. When you consider low taxes,NO depreciation, easy upkeep because of the high initial quality,it's really a bargain!

  • @ELECTRICCLOCK Just wanted to let you know, take a look at Eldoguys vid riding in a superb '67 Connie as well as many other vintage Lincolns and Cadillacs. Travelling through Texas I see the occasional 40 year old, or even older American car on the Interstate, but NEVER a euromobile or,God forbid, jap scrap

  • Oh yeah, red velvet interior, Giant flip lights and opera windows.

  • Man...I used to have this car. Sold it to some kid in cleveland for $300. Miss that car...

  • Fabulous!!! I live in the United States and this country is losing, or has lost already, its class on a daily basis! No respect for traditions or institutions and willing to accept OUTLANDISHLY expensive junk to keep up with their neighbors. I am over the plastic hoods and powerless crap that they call cars today. I just bought an 05 Town Car and that is more modern than I think it should be...but still it is a survivior in a classless, trashy, wasteful country that respects NOTHING ANYMORE!

  • Considered one of the most fuel inefficient cars of all time...God I want one.

  • priuses theyre not "eco" enough

  • i hate the new tiny front wheel drive technologymobiles they call cars now. i want full size 5.7 liter V8 rear wheel drive luxury car not some dumbass electric car that answers my phone for me so i can not focus on driving, crash, deploy at least a million air bags, and pay HUGE insurance costs because of the dumbass living in DC. I used to at least be proud that we still had the cars made on the panther platform (crown vic, town car, etc.) but NO according to the liberal beurocrats who drive p

  • I often have daydreams about aliens on distant planets driving cars like this.

  • I like this; confident but not arrogant.

We should all strive to be this way.

  • @zickie2000 Yes Cadillac went downhill quite a bit by the 70s, even the ones from the 60s aren't as nice as thei 1950s ones. I have a 1975 Chrysler Newport, across town there was a guy with a 1976 Cadillac, 60 special I think, the grill in the Newport is die cast chrome plated potmetal, the grill of that Cadillac was cheap plastic. That Newport was at least $2000 less then that Cadillac but was better made, the Caddy was basically an overpriced Chebby with a big engine and leather seats.

  • Pimp-mobiles.

  • @Handiman544 Aint that the truth, Diamond in back - sunroof top - diggin the scene with a gangster lean OOh hooo!

  • I thought that these designed Lincolns looked ugly. I prefer the Lincoln Town Car of the early 1980's were much more beautiful than these older Lincoln Town Car.

  • An absolutely ridiculous car. But I love it.

  • The last era of really great American cars. I'm a Cadillac man ('76 Fleetwood) but I love the stately look of this sedan!

  • Linc. Plush, old school & still big in 77 while alot of others were outright gay.

  • Love lincolns. Had a lot of them. Even as a young man I liked them. Drive a 03 town car and its my favorite yet. Sadly they end this year I think

  • when gas was under a dollar a gallon,,,sigh

  • lLuxury at its best.

  • if only Lincoln made their interiors as luxurious like this now.

  • America was a badass country in 1977 - regardless that that inept peanut eating

asshole in the White House considered us too materialistic! Bring back the big bold boulevard cruiser with a soft suspension any day.

  • ok this is badass

  • Lincoln Continental didn't compromise back in 1977, but Lincoln today did.

  • That interior looks really comfortable!

  • Fantastic car, I had two of them in 1985 when I was in high school. Lot's of cruising with 8 or so kids in the car.

  • Now that's what i call a real Lincoln. Makes the MKS look like the piece of junk it is!

  • @Buffalobigboy69 true true

  • @Buffalobigboy69 Agree with you, the MSK is a piece of junk.

  • you could land a helicopter on that bonnet

  • Thank you so much for adding this video! I own a 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car. Fully loaded, all original including the quadraphonic 8track player, factory CB radio and rare wide fixed glass top option. I had been wanting this car since they were new. Problem was that I was only 4 years old when this car came out and had to wait a long time before I could buy one. Finally the Youtube commercial surfaced! Thanks reich967,

  • @Quad8track do you have skid control and limited slip?

  • great-douglas fairbanks jr in a lincoln comm.!

  • @hollbri2 He is a cousin of mine!
