Hows does that rod work for you? I wad thinking of getting one but I talked to some Abu Garcia reps And they even said that the rod easily broke and did not recommend the rod they said it was alot smarter to spend the extra ten bucks and get vendetta.
@LoVeDoCtEr25 thanks in florida i use a bunch of plastics mainly and topwater baits, but i occasionaly use crankbaits, spinner baits, and jigs. I rarely fish swimbaits but they do catch fish.
Just bought the Vendetta 7' mh casting rod with the 2010 revo sx, should come in the mail in 2 days. Can't beat the price too, just $206.00 for both with shipping included. I'm not brand loyal and have many different brand of gear including shimano but this combination looks ace!
people are going to criticize because those are both very good products and you a younger guy, but I almost bought same exact setup but I got the 2010Revo SX thought it looked better to match and works flawlessly. If you didn't know this already that reel is super strong. I'll send you the story.
Dont listen to these dumbasses saying not to use braid. Unless the water is crystal clear and you have to flip 20 lb flouro or something, go with the braid. If your punching 90% of the bites are a reaction to the initial fall and its hard to make out a tiny strand of green line in the darkness beneath the slop and pads. Plus theres so much vegetation down there it doesnt matter. Frog fishing 100% braid all the time no question. Plus it cuts through the weeds like a saw
True bass fishin in Florida in thick cover, you need tough line, but you know what 65lb way to much braid is horrible. When I flip I use 15- 20 pound Trilene big game. I flip good quality fish all day with it without breaking. Its all about the way you take care of it, and the knots you tie.
Youve got 65 lb braid, 24 lbs of drag pressure, a big pissed off florida strain bass on the end of the line thats wrapped all up in the lilly pads, and a medium heavy rod. Which do you think is going to give out first? Good luck
good choice i love the the new line of revos abu garcia has come out with they are without a doubt top of the line fishing reels ive owned shimanos before and i gotta say the revos are way better
also with the shimanos u pay alot more simply because its a big name brand reel thats way overpriced
@MrDeadeye3395 because in florida the lily pads and other struture can rip you line easy for frog fishing. also all the pros use 65lb braid for frog fishing and even 80lb braid for punching in matts
ya thats right with fish hard here in florida for them bass.....i use 50 pound braid and meadium heavy gloomis with my shimano reel( cant realy think of it now) but it works out! these bass are in the deepiest of brush to!
I mean the vertas

Keep the lines tight!
