  • What a pleasure to hear --- I first saw Cecil perform solo just after Jimmy Lyons died. I was a teenager. After that, this is the album I bought and listened to over and over. Then I had the pleasure of meeting Raphe Malik, and offered an ensemble of his at the time a rehearsal space prior to a festival engagment. I showed him the record I had, and he told me it was his first recording. What a gas to have Mr. Edwards posting here as well. May the force be with us all.

  • Thanks for your comments Marc. I always love your posts on Facebook also. You play monumentally well here, with great clarity, intention and fire, providing propulsive and sensitive support for this spectacular group. Hope I get to hear you play sometime, way out here in Phoenix.

  • When we did this show, I felt it was a good performance. Never in my wildest dreams did any of us think that there would be so much interest in this recording 30 plus years later. This record put us on the map in the Free Jazz world, Ware, Malik and yours truly. This was our first recording with Cecil Taylor. What a ride it was playing in this band on that European tour. The band also toured the USA briefly before going to Europe. Everyone is in fine form. Marc Edwards

  • Oh yeah...these cats are crazy...just the way I like it LOL...LOVE IT

  • @tonyfreejazz20 Thanks fort the kind words. It was hard work but I loved every minute of the time I spent with this band. This band was one of a kind. I don't think Cecil ever had another band quite like this one.
