I'm brazilian and the gun control here, initiated since 2005 is NOT working at all. Our government is laughing at the face of democracy, because the majority of the population don't want gun control and they do it anyway.
And the people who fights against it are being ignorated by the government and the media. It's gonna be a hard and long work before we can get our right to defend ourselves again.
the right way to go about gun control is not to restrict them but to make sure people are trained with them. my idea for a safer gun legislation is that before transaction you have to prove you know what your doing. ex proof of taking a class or clinic/military service.(my opinion)
Switzerland has the lowest crime rate of ANY country.And this is because they issue EACH and EVERY house a gun. and if you serve in the military, you get to keep your rifle. There are also no restrictions on the types of guns, so a 30 caliber machine gun is perfectly legal. If guns kill people, then spoons make michael moore fat.
Are you saying handguns or every gun in general because there is no reason for citizens to have to register long guns. Long guns are mainly used by hunters, criminals use handguns and think about do you really think a criminal is going to register his gun
l 'arme détenue légalement par un citoyen honnête n'est pas dangereuse une arme illégale mise dans les mains d'un fou oui la c"est dangereux pour la communauté
Gun control=forbidding teenagers to have sex.EDUCATION IS THE KEY AND RESPONSIBILITY!I tell you something.Here,in Hungary some guys hate gypsies.So they got guns,looked for gypsies and set the house on fire.When they ran out with their children in their arms and got shot.2 by 1 round.Yeah attackers confused the neighbours with them and just shot in the window in the middle of the night.HUN has the strictest gun laws in Eastern Europe.So just hope here you won't get accidentally shot.Fuck you, g
I'm also pretty angry about how easy it is for these people on SSI to fool the system and get their "benefits" (what a joke). Most people I know on SSI don't need to be on it, they are just too lazy to go out and get a job, much less keep one. People don't want to conform to society, they want society to conform to them. They deserve to sit on their butts all day, smoking weed or whatever else they choose as their party supplies. It burns my butt.
@SNOWBOUNDINNH-That makes me PISSED OFF, is how that makes me feel! I think every legal adult should own at least one gun. I believe they should learn how to handle them, but I think everyone should have at least one. I know several people on SSI and they are absolutely talking on really expensive phones, living for free (some, not all), and yes-wearing expensive clothing/shoes. One of these people didn't like the first phone she got so she turned around and bought yet another.
"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." ~ James Madison, father of the U.S. Constitution
A constitutional militia, a distinction recognized by 10 U.S.C. 311(a).
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in Government." ~ Thomas Jefferson
And the criminals will still have guns, then what? How about the banning of cars becasue people who choose to drive drunk end up killing people with their cars.
Hey, more gun control. You don't need to protect yourself. The speech you'll give the news has already been written (if you get to speak), "I didn't think anything like this could have happened to me? I live in a good neighborhood. Nothing like that happens around here."
Personally, Glock 23 thirteen in the mag and one in the hole. It may not be 9mm of STFU. But, she'll do just as well.
@wcresponder im no expert, but i think thats because this country is still so young. when the rest of the first world countries where this age, they had ppl raping their churches and burning their women all the time. they want america to grow up fast but they had the luxury of having nearly a millenium to develop. weve only had around 250 years
@wcresponder No, actually. The USA does NOT ha ve the highest violence rates in the first world countries. In both Britain and Australia there is five times the rate of rape and assault as in the USA. Don't believe me? look up the statistics on the pdf. on the UN website.
@wcresponder lol no. The UK, New Zealand, and Australia are the top three countries for violent crime, third world countries notwithstanding.
The two areas in the US with the highest amounts of shooting deaths are Washington, DC and Chicago, IL. Both of which had strict handgun bans up until the supreme court struck the them down in 2008. When that happened, the crime rate plummeted. As a whole, violent crime in the US is actually the lowest it has been for years, despite being in a recession.
dude evrey politician should see this do they really think baning all guns is going to solve crime in this country there has to be some other reason for gun control because no one can be that dumb
Thats proof that gun control is crap but the liberals that vote against guns shouldnt be allowed to own guns so that they along with their familys can get fucked beaten robbed and killed so that they can realize that they were wrong but itll be the hard way
Can someone tell me where to find a crack cocaine store please? O thats right drugs are ilegal. Yet anyone can find and purchase drugs on the street ANYTIME, ANYWHERE. If you outlaw guns only outlaws will have them. Instead of not allowing responsible law abiding citizens to own firearms, PUT MORE COPS ON THE STREET AND LET THEM DO THERE JOB. Get rid of the criminals, get rid of the crime.
I am a Vermonter who carries a gun nearly every place I go. Do i feel safer? I certainly do. No one is going to be shooting up any malls schools playgrounds or homes if I am anywhere near.
A responsible gun owner who carries his gun, should be the only one who EVER knows he has it, until it is absolutely needed.
Granted, I consider myself responsible and a community minded past boy scout type etc. VT has no Gun Control and our crime rates are remarkably low. Because here, Criminals fear.
@LANDofCONFUSION Thank you for the statement. I can say with certainty that the level of violence has never been increased by me responsibly carrying a firearm no one knows I have. Owning a gun is an enormous responsibility and not one I take lightly. Where I live police help might be 10--35 minutes out at any given time especially in winter months. Responsible citizens have a duty to one another and their community; not to be vigilantes but to be vigilant and willing to step up in crisis.
I've carried firearms on me for years, and believe me, carrying one has allowed me to save my ass more than once. Plus, as @definedsuccess said, I live in an area where the police response time might be anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour... but we're not special.
One of the most basic rights of nature is self-defense. Even the lowest life forms on Earth have the right to defend themselves. But according to you, humans can't.
@LANDofCONFUSION (cont) One more thing: The 2A is NOT about self-defense, hunting or target practice. It's THERE to ensure that so many private citizens would be armed, that a tyrannical government could not possibly wrest control of this Republic without a fight.
Self-defense, hunting and target practice are nice side-effects of the 2A, but not it's main reason for existing.
You might want to ease up a little and read a book on the Constitution and/or The Federalist Papers.
I doubt either of you served in Iraq. Much less law enforcement. You have no concept other then what the media tells you. I know law enforcement that move here from other countries due to the fact they aren't able to carry guns. You did mention homicide, but you didn't mention brutal beatings, people made in vegetables from other forms of violence, break ins etc... get a clue. get a gun.
Let's be frank. We will never STOP gun crime, or drunk driving fatalities, or murder, or rape, or robbery, or any of the other violent crimes that some sick individuals will perpetrate, unless we turn America into a Taliban-style police state! The more freedom we enjoy, the more risk we run that some among us will abuse that freedom to commit crimes. The solution isn't more gun laws, or harsher punishments, but the moral education of our young, something the atheistic education system outlaws!
Making guns illegal is just like making drugs illegal, only criminals will have access to guns if they are illegal. Gun control is dead so stop preaching it. I own guns with plenty of ammunition, if anyone comes into my house they will have to meet Mr. 12-gauge, or Mr 40 cal. Fuck the idiot who made this video. Liberal cock sucker.
@TIKIMAN198 this video wasn't made by a liberal... it was made by somebody who agrees with you. Ever heard of sarcasm. They are saying that the people in favor of gun control are criminals. So if you are not a criminal you shouldn't be in favor of gun control. The problem with that is that not all gun laws are meant to make them illegal.
Good gun laws are meant to make sure that it is less likely that guns are used to commit crimes. Nobody influential is trying to make guns illegal.
@goalsetter88. The purpose of gun control laws is to limit the illegal sources, not the legal ones. A full gun ban is not effective, and it's unconstitutional. But contrary to what this ad and the NRA wants you to believe, nobody wants to take your guns. Gun control advocates try to craft laws that protect people, not strip them of their rights. Unfortunately, there isn't a single influential politician today who has the balls to introduce any gun legislation because it's political suicide.
@a2apata i agree that is the purpose. but it winds up only limiting the civilians. so how exactly is limiting law abiding citezins the right to own a gun going to limit the illegal sources? i mean what laws does the US make that the criminals will abide by sir?so your saying they wont abide by a full ban, but if you dont ban them completetly they will follow the rules? the only thing that the law is restrictring, is the law abiding citezin who follows the law. its useless if the criminal dosent.
@a2apata and they are after our guns , they are just not dumb enough to try to take them all at once. its by doing it in steps. if you throw it all in, they know it wont pass. but if you throw one item, they might think okay this isnt to bad and vote for it. then do the next. and at some point you gotta step in and say hey this is too far. and were at that point.
@goalseter88 we're not even close to that point. and we're headed in the opposite direction. supreme court decisions in recent years striking down gun bans in dc and chicago. laws being passed to allow guns in churches and national parks. proposals to allow possible terrorists to buy guns. Listen, I'm telling you, I know you can't just stop gun crimes by fiat. You have to be smart and creative about it. The goal is not guns, it's gun crimes.
gun control is about taking the gun out of the criminal's hand. not the law-abiding citizen. get it through your heads. it's not about trying to prevent gun accidents. it's about trying to prevent gun violence. gun control is about protecting you, not taking away your protection.
@a2apata. tell me how gun laws prevent criminals from geting guns when they are geting them from illegal sources? all your doing is preventing law abiding citizens from geting them. they are the ones that follow the laws that restricts guns. criminals dont follow those law
prove it by stating how chicago use to have a full handgun ban, and even now that its new version still very restrictive. why they have one of the highest if not highest crime rate in the US? why are your laws not working
@goalseter88 how do you feel about the fact that the NRA thinks that people on the terrorist watch list should be allowed to purchase firearms including assault weapons?
@a2apata lol how about you answer my question first. tell me why your so called gun ban only makes crime rise in chicago and also washington dc. both of have had no hand gun rules up till recently and are on the top of the list for crimes. i mean you say the laws only take the guns away from criminals. but how do these criminals have guns. there a law that says they cant have them. you mean they actually broke the law? NO WAY. its okay if you been fooled. not everyone is smart
@goalseter88 listen, don't call it my gun ban. That's the lie that anti gun control people are pushing. The overwhelming number of gun control advocates are not pushing a ban. They are suggesting laws like requiring background checks or providing law enforcement with tools that make it easier to catch criminals commiting violent crimes with guns. Doing that will make SOME wannabe criminals think twice if they think it's more likely they will get caught.
@a2apata can you list any of those laws that your stating that arent restricting guns that the law abiding citezin can have? most of the things you stated are already in effect. like the back ground check etc. what now they are trying to add is that we cant have this or that. like in the clinton era. we couldnt have more then a 10 round mag, or the assault weapon ban, or chicago old gun ban or their new gun rules to get a gun, or washingtons gun ban that just now got taken down.
@goalseter88 and it's not enough to say that one group of people can have them and another group of people can't. You have to be creative and focus on the right goals. not taking guns away form people but keeping people from comitting crimes with guns. as for the chicago and dc gun bans, they were both struck down in recent years. they were replaced with other regulations and ordinances that may or may not reduce violent gun crime. Why? there are other variables other than just owning guns.
@a2apata and to your reference on assualt rifles. you should do your research on them. i think from 2005 back there only been 13 reported crimes done with an assault rifles. so its abit more now i sure with that being outdated. but point is. assault rifles arent the threat. they are too big for criminals. criminals use rifles that are cheap to get, and are easy to conceal. assault rifles are BIG and NOT CHEAP. i could buy 2 to 3 pistols for the price of one assault rifle
@goalseter88 My reference to assault rifles was focused not on the weapon but on the fact that the NRA supports putting them in the hands of people on the TERRORIST WATCH LIST.
wow. are you guys really that easy to fool? gun control is not about making guns illegal and taking them away from you. gun control is about making sure that they don't get in to the hands of those who will misuse them. As for comparing it to making alcohol illegal, it's the same idea. Alcohol is a dangerous substance in the hands of someone irresponsible. That's why there are alcohol control laws. If you sell alcohol to a minor you can lose your license. There's nobody arguing to take your guns
The difference between a conservative and a liberal is that when a conservative doesn't like something, they don't have it ... when a liberal doesn't like something, they don't want anyone to have it.
Whether liberals like it or not, American citizens are fed up with the ever increasing crime rate, and every day more citizens are realizing that "When seconds count, cops are minutes away." We instinctively know that it is physically impossible for cops to protect every single person, every single time that a crime might be committed against them.

while we're at it..let's all blame pencils, pens, typewriters and other available items used for spelling, for those misspelled words taht wee luv soo much! eh? Aftur all, its is not the peopple 2 blaime, its is tha iitams in there handz! write???

The point of this ad is NOT to support gun control, it is to support people rights to protect themselves and their belongings, therefore it supports the rights of people to own guns. Bayoublade has chosen to oppose gun control in a way to get people to pay attention. Good job on the video!
I'd ask you all to look at who passes gun control laws? It is the politicians who create these immoral laws. I'd ask you all to understand why they want citizens unable to defend themselves? It is because THEY are afraid that guns will be used on them in the course of their "law" making. The real criminal class are the politicians who make the laws. You allow this to happen by electing them.
One thing that is in the back of the Islamists is our 2nd ammendment. Citizens in England and the rest of Europe don't have guns. Do you see how bold the Islamists are in those countries trying to use intimidation and terror to force Sharia Law down their throats? They know when they try that in this country they'll have to think about citizens with guns. Lots of guns. Funny how Bloomberg is so pushing FOR this mosque in NY, and he's also so anti gun. Things that make you go hmmmm.
What better way to control the pop. Gov. uses gangs to liberate you from your weapons and through you into the reducation centers. FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! Then (OBAMA) they use personal army to wipe out gangs. FOR YOUR PROTECTION! Then every one will be happy (except for the slave workers....US) in there bitchin new pads. COMIN TO A LIVIN HELL NEAR YOU!
If guns were illegal in America, criminals would go nuts. People would have to buy a high quality Japanese sword and lurk around their in the dark when they hear a break in. Then they'll make swords illegal. While the reason for gun control may not be a more oppressive government, the result of it will be. It's just a food in the door for more to come once they know the people can be pushed around.
Anti-gun laws will have nothing to do with criminal activity or murder rates. Its about the government achieving the next level of power and control. I'm not a paranoid conspiracy nut....but I can see where all of this is going. -If firearms are eventually outlawed...then I will be an outlaw, as should any gun owner who cares.
You all aren't very bright. President Obama has never advocated for the outlawing of firearms for law abiding citizens. All he has ever supported is background checks, mandatory waiting periods. And he opposes allowing non-law enforcement personnel from owning assault weapons. You are all pretty pathetic if you really believe that Obama has some secret plan to take away your guns. He has bigger fish to fry.
@dascientiss What stuff exactly is President Obama dealing with that he shouldn't be? The economy, jobs, Wall Street reform, health care reform... Those things are all in dire straits. Sorry if he isn't more like your beloved George W Bush and just ignores all those things. Now go turn on Faux News and drink your kool aid.
@VforVendetta07 He's not takin care of any of that. That Health Care thing is bullshit...if it was so marvelous, nobody would have protested it and there wouldnt have been AM radio station ppl like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity telling ppl the truth about it.
@hogrider55 And what proof do you have that President Obama is going to outlaw bullets? You are out of your mind. Next you'll be telling me he's going to outlaw fishing.
@VforVendetta07 technically, no one can get an assault rifle unless they go through a long process of background checks and paying lots of money. The AR15s and "AKs" you see at gun shops aren't assault rifles. An assault rifle is a full automatic weapon- AKs (sold in the US) and ARs are not. And believe me, those guns do not shoot "high powered" rounds. The 5.56 (from an AR) is really a .22 with extra powder behind it.
@VforVendetta07 I've heard of the "loophole". It's really not a loophole: If I were to buy a firearm and then decide that I don't like it, I can sell it to someone else w/o a check. HOWEVER, if I know that the person is/may be a felon, I could also go to prison. Also, Class 3 items (machine guns, silencers) can't be legally sold that way.
@VforVendetta07 Have you ever looked at his voting record? He has voted time and again to outlaw all semi autos and handguns. Basically anything but that come out after 1900. He wants chicago style gun laws across the country.
Robert Mugabe forced 'Gun Control' on the law abiding farmers of Rhodesia. With many hundreds of thousands of them (and their supporters) massacred, he finally got the Hope and Change he dreamed of..ZIMBABWE. The world media cheered as he brought 'Hope and Change' and EQUALITY to once prosperous Rhodesia. Now it is Total 'FAIL' ..ZIMBABWE. The LIberal Left's 'Poster' Nation.
Uh, Obama signed laws that allow guns in Federal Parks and on Amtrak trains. Michael Bloomberg (R) has come out in the press saying Obama isn't tough ENOUGH on control.
@daleng1994 IT'S NOT THE GUN'S FAULT!!!???!?!! LOLOLOLL
Oh please, by all means, let's protect the rights of the poor wittle GUNS!!! HILARIOUS!!
People can die from guns, cars, and yeah, even snakes. That's why you have to have a license to own a gun, drive a car, and have special permission to own certain exotic animals. Not because of the car Or the gun OR the snake...but because of the irresponsible idiots who own (and SELL) them!
@spartangirl wow, you really are stupid aren't you? No one needs a license to own a gun.... and in most states, as long as you carry it openly, you don't need a license to carry it either.
@spartangirl Its idiots like you that keep wasting the 911 operators time calling in "Man with gun" calls. You also must know they don't come and bother me after you call them... and eventually, if you do it more than once, they may charge you with a crime for calling in on something you now know is not a crime and is perfectly legal. I never said their was no gun control... there is and it must be ended now... what I said is that I don't need a license to own or carry! Stop being stupid!
Actually I think that the worst -government- abuses happen in states with the tightest "gun control" laws. An honest government doesn't have a legitimate reason to disarm its citizens.
Damn Liberal pussies think they know whats right, everything that the scum just said is true you ban gun the citizen is going to be disarmed not the scum they will have their guns regardless if legal or illegal.
More people die yearly from drunk drivers than gun homicides. Will they try to make cars illegal? What about booze? No, they won't. So all you liberal puke politicians cut the nonsence, get tough on criminals that use guns, and leave us law abiding gun owners alone. Oh wait, I forgot, most of you politicians are lawyers.
@ThePadintor For sho.. We are still the most liberal country about booze at .08
( even Amsterdam where u can smoke pot is .02) and we are liberal somewhat about guns-except the middle east where they fire AK's into the air at weddings.. , We have to at least keep what rights we do have. Everyone please forward this vid to all on your list, I can't believe it's only at 23K viewers.
@CarlMinez Stupid is that u “don’t quite know where to start.” I c u’re from Sweden, that figures. Notin' against ur country,I respect all people and nations. We all have our good and bad. I’ve been to many countries and no matter what people say in the media, the average guy on the street admires our 2nd amendment and wishes he can protect himself the way we can. If u lived here u’d understand my reasoning. I’m not the highest rated for nothing. Wait, u probly think all Americans r stupid
I dont think americans are stupid. But i think that many gun-loving, conservative rednecks are stupid. I, and the rest of the world. No offence but i assume that doesnt apply to you.
Now I think that all research suggests the same namely that weapons to very little to increase the overall safety in a neighbourhood. Quite the opposite, statics show that the gun industry and homicides in an area goes hand in hand. Overall I think this kind of mentality is primitive.
@CarlMinez Glad we can have mutual respect. There is stupidity among gun-loving conservative rednecks but also gun-hating liberal pukes. Stats R funny. U can find stats that favor both sides. I go by what I C & know. I've been a policeman for 25 yrs, 20 yrs on the streets. Cops love 2 C responsible citizens with guns 'cause it makes criminals think. Also, when Islamists start their crap here in USA, (they already have), they'll know here there R more people with guns than in Europe. Peace
Yeah you treated me with respect, respect I at the time didnt deserve and for that im sorry. My post was uneccerely aggressive but i have strong opinions on the matter. I am in many ways a liberal. On the other hand i, as you mentioned, live in sweden and we dont have the same problems with crimes in our nation. I simply assume that more weapons leads to more deaths and more shootings. The last thing we want in some kind of anarchism in which everyone protects himself with a gun.
@CarlMinez Agreed. That's why we stress "responsible" law abiding citizens. There R millions upon millions of citizens with guns yet well over 98% of gun crimes are done by illegal gun owners (there goes those stats). If U make all guns illegal, law abiding citizens will not break the law so they will no longer have guns. Criminals though, will still have their guns. That's why I blame politicians, lawyers & judges. They need 2 get tough on criminals with guns. ( I'll continue on next post
Firstly, you shouldn't compare one part of the US to another part. State-exclusive laws to little do affect the overall gun industry which is and always has been strong in America. And the USA is a brutal, crime ridden place but the "every family for itself" mentality is just dumb.
Instead compare the US with its comparably loose gun legislation laws with countries in for example Europe. We dont have nearly as much crime here in Sweden. And we dont have any gun industry either.
@CarlMinez I don't believe anyone has a "every family for itself" mentality. We are part of a nation, and that's understood. But families make a nation, not the other way around. Nazi Germany and other socialists believe that nations make the family. That's why in every crisis, brave American men run to enlist for military service. We just believe every person has the right to protect himself ALONG with the state. Problem is, police will not always be there, so at least we are ready.
@CarlMinez A stat from England shows that when guns were banned the murder rate from edged weapons went up through the roof. Even though guns were harder to get, criminals still were able to get some, but if thry couldn't get one fast enough, they had knives. Basically, it's a matter of behavior, not the tool. Hey,y ou have your opinions and I have mine. At least we can talk civil. Too bad people in government & the media can't take a lesson.
You might want to check your "research" again, if that's what you want to call it. The states with the least restrictive gun laws have the lowest crime rates. Also, the highest violent crime rates in the US are in major cities (NYC, LA, Chicago, New Orleans, Wash DC) that have the most restrictive gun laws, it's almost impossible to get a gun permit in DC, NYC, or Chicago. Criminals don't bother with gun permits and aren't worried about armed citizens in these cities......
Firstly, you shouldn't compare one part of the US to another part. State-exclusive laws to little do affect the overall gun industry which is and always has been strong in America. And the USA is a brutal, crime ridden place but the "every family for itself" mentality is just dumb.

Norma-produces 23 million rounds/yr in 90 calibers, manufacture the largest assortment of ammo in the world.
Interdynamic - this company put the TEC-9 in the hands of thousands of gang members in the US, then set up shop building them here. These guns have killed thousands.
Bofors - they've built weapons used to kill people all over the world, including selling weapons to Venezuela and communist FARC Columbia. You have children's blood on your hands, Sweden.
You will have to find sources for that information. Anyway, your argument is completely unfounded as the US is the biggest military power in the world and with all likelihood the second biggest supplier of armies and has been since the fucking cold war. (the biggest is Russia with their AK-47s.
Whereas Sweden hasnt been in a war for 200 years so from a logical standpoint, do you think yourself that your comparison makes any sense?
Secondly, your pseudo-argument "they got more crimes in the big cities because they have more restrictive gun laws" is a rather ironic statement given these stats.
h t t p : / / w w w . n e w s b a t c h . c o m / g c - r e g i o n o w n d e a t h . h t m l
As you see states with fewer weapons generally have less crime. Its as simple as that. All this bullshit about self-protection and the second amendment it just unfounded arguments from stubborn conservatives.
@CarlMinez We don't choose to be victims, but being a helpless victim is a conscious decision you seem to be OK with. How 'bout you jump on a worthy cause such as fixing the social problems that lead criminals to kill people, you seem to know so much about life in the US. I've been held at knifepoint twice, lucky to be alive, so don't call self-protection bullshit. Maybe it's time to come out into the real world.
The social problems are caused by the capitalism supported by the same non-progressive conservatives that support your countries weapon industry. You have huge problems with segregation and poverty because youve allowed poor people and minorities to isolate themselves in poor neighborhoods. This is a result of capitalism and the economical inequality ot creates. The cure is socialistic reforms such as higher taxes and free healthcare.
Thirdly, thinking that only the "decent, good americans" will keep weapons legally is extremely stupid. Its by far to easy for criminals in the US to get their hands on weapons simply BECAUSE you have few gun legislations. They simply buy from those with contacts in the weapon industry. Weapons from gun stores are sold and exported throughout your country and they will sooner or later end up in the hands of a criminal.
@CarlMinez Maybe you should move to the US and live in Harlem or DC for a year and see where that gets you. The most violent cities in the US don't allow it's residents to protect themselves. The US isn't a brutal crime ridden country, you watch too much TV. Dirty Harry was just a movie.... most violence centers around large cities. Sweden's violent crime rate increased 200% over last 3 decades, but leveled off in US over last 15 years. Too bad you can't defend yourself.
Are you just pulling stats out of your ass? Are you fucking kidding with me or are you just so incredibly stupid? The US is second in national rates of deaths by firearm, with 11.3 deaths per 100,000 in total. Most of Western Europe is below 1 per 100,000, including the UK, with a homicide-by-firearm rate of only 0.1.
And you compare it Sweden which has a almost non-existent gun related death rate?
BESIDES: According to the World report on violence and health USA is one of the highest industrialized nations, IN THE WORLD, when it comes to death by homicide, with 6.9 deaths per 100,000 of the population. Compare that with countries in Europe such as Poland (2.7 per 100,000), Belgium (1.6), Italy (1.1) and the UK (0.8).
Are you starting to see a pattern? Gun-loving America compared to super-restricted Europa? Could it be that more guns generally mean more more deaths?
@CarlMinez Sweden claims neutrality but has been anything but. They provided steel, transpo, commo to Nazi's in WWII, then played the allies by providing "some" intelligence. They train, equip, and fund Swedish civilians and foreign fighters in multiple conflicts, but won't commit to anything. A national foreign policy of supporting both sides in a conflict is a policy of cowardice. Typical liberal mentality "I want it all and you must give it to me".
Now regarding the history of Sweden. Sweden did not take part in the first or second world war. But it has been profiting greatly from it. In fact during the 50s and the 70s Sweden was along the three richest countries in the world - which is way we have been able to become a welfare state. This is nothing that i am proud of but one should keep in mind that we were practically occupied by germany during WWII. And we had no military defenses.
However, keep in mind that Sweden helped with the rubuiling of Europe and has since the 40s been providing cover, healthcare and welfare for immigrants from all over the world. In fact, only Södertelje (a small state in Sweden) has taken care of more iraqis then the entire US (and Canada). And this we have been able to provide all our citizens with healthcare and welfare.
When it comes to Iraq and Afghanistan Sweden has reluctantly deployed peace keepers.
@CarlMinez Pull stats out of my ass? are you kidding? The US is 44th in the world in homicide rates with 5/100,000. Do some research. The US reports all murders, regardless of circumstance (self-defense, accidental) in murder statistics, one of the only countries to do so. England's murder rate skyrocketed when they outlawed guns, now they're going after knives ("Knives take lives"). What's next, shoelaces and paper clips? Guns don't create criminals.
My "research" is founded on the World Report of Violence and health. Is that a source you question?
Its obvious that you dont take time to read my comments as you fail to answer my arguments. I said that the US ranks the highest in death by homicide in the world along industrialized nations. Not all nations.
But if you want statics I can offer you just that. When it comes to death by intentional injury of the 77 countries for which statistics were taken for death by intentional injury, the US was 29th, with 17.4 deaths per 100,000 of the population. This is considerably short of Colombia (65.1 deaths per 100,000), Russia (53.7), Cuba (23.5), but poor in comparison to the UK (7.6), Israel (7.3) and Greece (4.3). This is ridiculously high considering all third world countries.
Death by homicide death is even worse in the US. It was 27th, with 6.9 deaths per 100,000 of the population (not 5), high figures in the same area of exalted countries like Thailand, Guyana, Cuba and Costa Rica, although far short of Colombia's 61.6 deaths per 100,000. By contrast, Western European countries featured much lower down the list, such as Poland (2.7 per 100,000), Belgium (1.6), Italy (1.1) and the UK (0.8)
These numbers are from the World Health Organization.
Furthermore! The US is second in national rates of deaths by firearm, with 11.3 deaths per 100,000 in total. Of these, 6.4 per 100,000 were using their largely defensive weapon of gun to check themselves out, with 4.4 using a gun to kill somebody else. Only Albania was higher, with a homicide rate of 17.6 per 100,000. Most of Western Europe is below 1 per 100,000, including the UK, with a homicide-by-firearm rate of only 0.1. S
@CarlMinez Now we get to the crux...you're a tried and true socialist. Capitalism didn't create poverty, it creates opportunity and apparently that scares you. Segregation?? Are you stupid? Civil Rights Act was passed with Repub vote, almost 80% of Congressional Dems voted against it. Social probs caused by libs constant reminders to minorities they're not good enough and they don't have to work "vote for us, we'll keep sending you paychecks" Poverty in US means you only have 1 TV and 1 car.....
By your standard I guess I am a liberal. After all liberalism is an ethical philosophy almost as much as it is a political standpoint.
But wait just a minute. Are you saying the the economical inequality and your extreme 17 percent poverty has nothing to do with capitalism? I am seriously curious as to whether you actually suggest that or not.
Now as to American poverty. The definition is the lack of basic human needs. One TV and one car? Bullshit. There are literally people starving on the streets in the US. Some even state that you have approx. 45 million americans without health-insurance. And almost every fifth american lives in absolute poverty.
Tell me, how is this possible in one of the richest countries in the world? Why is it that your middle class is disappearing? I wanna know what you think.
You wanna know what I think? I think that the reason , 35.9 million people live below the poverty line in America, including 12.9 million children, is because these poor people live in Ghettos, isolated from the rich, neighborhoods. I think that the rich, upper-class fear socialistic reforms, such as tax raise and socialized healthcare, not because they are afraid of communist or something equally stupid, but because they fear loosing their economical and political power.
I think the reason why there are third world countries with a smaller poverty percentage then the US is because conservatives and libertarians still believe that the US is a country where everyone can make it with just a little bit of hard work. But if you are born in a poor family, if you are born in a poor neighborhood, if you dont have the money for education, if you are unlucky enough to be an immigrant, you will live your life poor. Its evident.
America is falling apart, imploding. Your economy is crippled, the difference between rich and poor is disappearing and the rest of the world sees you as a undemocratic, uncivilized and primitive country. And this is sad because America used to be a symbol of progressive politics, democracy and freedom.
We all know China and India is going to "take over the world". Wouldnt it be better if you adjusted your system after the European welfare model instead?
@CarlMinez In the US we enjoy certain freedoms and liberties granted by the Constitution that gov't can't take away,among them are right to keep and bear arms.Self-defense,national defense,and as part of checks n balances to maintain a gov't "of the people".Exploiting social issues as an excuse to take away these rights isn't tolerated.Capitalism doesn't create crime, it creates opportunity. That scares you I know, but don't worry cause Sweden would never ask you to fight for your freedom.
- I think this comment alone proves how absolutely uneducated and ignorant you are. You speak of the freedom of living in wealth why others starve. But the most important freedom, the freedom of democracy that you should be fighting for is disappearing under your noses and it has started ever sense the war on terror was launched. No references to the need to fight terror can be an argument for restricting human rights.
Perhaps you have yet to release to you that you live in a country where people can be sent to distant prisons without a trial under the suspicion of being a terrorist. A country that starts illegal wars. A country that divides and conquers and a country that tortures. Yes, the CIA has been documented actually torturing prisoners.
The moment you should start worrying about freedom is the moment you wake up in a police state.
I can see that many of your comments have already been removed. This far ive managed to provide sources and reasonable arguments for my cause. Whereas you have failed. Youve also failed to answer my questions.
I would suggest you to avoid these kinds of debates in the future. Because it would be sad, really sad, if this is what you do best.
if you feel the need to get the last comment go right ahead. But make sure to actually read my posts this time.
@CarlMinez I removed posts because I clicked at the wrong name to respond. I guess that makes you a champion.You want to talk about living in the ghetto? I grew up in the ghetto you friggin' idiot. Wanna know how I got out? I got a job. Actually I got two, and I paid my way through college. Imagine that. I didn't have to, cause liberals promised to fund me for life, but unlike you I earn my way. Walk through US ghetto and you'll see BMW,Mercedes,Cadillac,SUV's....true poverty.
Oh I see. I speak of numbers from WHO, UN Human Development organization and so forth. But you base your analysis on what cars you see parked in your nearby americans ghettos?
@CarlMinez I'm not posting all the links of sites I found, you know how to use a computer.Nice of you to admit progressive policies are a failure.Nice of you to use murder in Sweden as example that you don't need a gun to kill.Nice of you to show your ignorance of life in US.The poor aren't isolated from wealth by being in cities, where do you think the jobs are?Class warfare is the objective of the progressive and you've fallen for it. Anybody can become rich in US, opportunity is knocking...
I dont remember admitting anything of the like. I posted information about homicide in the US compared to other countries, statistics that doesnt really speak well for your stand-point. So I can see if you are a bit furious but that doesnt excuse you putting words in my mouth.

Here are some other numbers to ponder:
Number of physicians in the US = 700,000
Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year = 120,000
Accidental deaths per physician = 0.171
Number of gun owners in the US = 80,000,000
Number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) = 1,500
Accidental deaths per gun owner = 0.0000188
Therefore, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Take us for example. Gun Control does not work!!

the right way to go about gun control is not to restrict them but to make sure people are trained with them. my idea for a safer gun legislation is that before transaction you have to prove you know what your doing. ex proof of taking a class or clinic/military service.(my opinion)
SRGTHALO 2 months ago
Switzerland has the lowest crime rate of ANY country.And this is because they issue EACH and EVERY house a gun. and if you serve in the military, you get to keep your rifle. There are also no restrictions on the types of guns, so a 30 caliber machine gun is perfectly legal. If guns kill people, then spoons make michael moore fat.

Hey, more gun control. You don't need to protect yourself. The speech you'll give the news has already been written (if you get to speak), "I didn't think anything like this could have happened to me? I live in a good neighborhood. Nothing like that happens around here."

@wcresponder No, actually. The USA does NOT ha ve the highest violence rates in the first world countries. In both Britain and Australia there is five times the rate of rape and assault as in the USA. Don't believe me? look up the statistics on the pdf. on the UN website.

wcresponder 8 months ago
@wcresponder lol no. The UK, New Zealand, and Australia are the top three countries for violent crime, third world countries notwithstanding.
The two areas in the US with the highest amounts of shooting deaths are Washington, DC and Chicago, IL. Both of which had strict handgun bans up until the supreme court struck the them down in 2008. When that happened, the crime rate plummeted. As a whole, violent crime in the US is actually the lowest it has been for years, despite being in a recession.

LANDofCONFUSION 1 year ago
@LANDofCONFUSION Thank you for the statement. I can say with certainty that the level of violence has never been increased by me responsibly carrying a firearm no one knows I have. Owning a gun is an enormous responsibility and not one I take lightly. Where I live police help might be 10--35 minutes out at any given time especially in winter months. Responsible citizens have a duty to one another and their community; not to be vigilantes but to be vigilant and willing to step up in crisis.
definedsuccess 1 year ago
@LANDofCONFUSION You can't possibly be that stupid...
But according to you, humans can't.
sPzB41 1 year ago
@LANDofCONFUSION (cont) One more thing: The 2A is NOT about self-defense, hunting or target practice. It's THERE to ensure that so many private citizens would be armed, that a tyrannical government could not possibly wrest control of this Republic without a fight.
Self-defense, hunting and target practice are nice side-effects of the 2A, but not it's main reason for existing.
You might want to ease up a little and read a book on the Constitution and/or The Federalist Papers.

TIKIMAN198 1 year ago
Nobody influential is trying to make guns illegal.
a2apata 1 year ago
@TIKIMAN198 i think it was meant as a joke FOR gun rights.. hahahhaha
lumannation1 1 year ago
@goalsetter88. The purpose of gun control laws is to limit the illegal sources, not the legal ones. A full gun ban is not effective, and it's unconstitutional. But contrary to what this ad and the NRA wants you to believe, nobody wants to take your guns. Gun control advocates try to craft laws that protect people, not strip them of their rights. Unfortunately, there isn't a single influential politician today who has the balls to introduce any gun legislation because it's political suicide.
a2apata 1 year ago
@a2apata i agree that is the purpose. but it winds up only limiting the civilians. so how exactly is limiting law abiding citezins the right to own a gun going to limit the illegal sources? i mean what laws does the US make that the criminals will abide by sir?so your saying they wont abide by a full ban, but if you dont ban them completetly they will follow the rules? the only thing that the law is restrictring, is the law abiding citezin who follows the law. its useless if the criminal dosent.
goalseter88 1 year ago
@a2apata and they are after our guns , they are just not dumb enough to try to take them all at once. its by doing it in steps. if you throw it all in, they know it wont pass. but if you throw one item, they might think okay this isnt to bad and vote for it. then do the next. and at some point you gotta step in and say hey this is too far. and were at that point.
goalseter88 1 year ago
@goalseter88 we're not even close to that point. and we're headed in the opposite direction. supreme court decisions in recent years striking down gun bans in dc and chicago. laws being passed to allow guns in churches and national parks. proposals to allow possible terrorists to buy guns. Listen, I'm telling you, I know you can't just stop gun crimes by fiat. You have to be smart and creative about it. The goal is not guns, it's gun crimes.
a2apata 1 year ago
gun control is about taking the gun out of the criminal's hand. not the law-abiding citizen. get it through your heads. it's not about trying to prevent gun accidents. it's about trying to prevent gun violence. gun control is about protecting you, not taking away your protection.
a2apata 1 year ago
@a2apata. tell me how gun laws prevent criminals from geting guns when they are geting them from illegal sources? all your doing is preventing law abiding citizens from geting them. they are the ones that follow the laws that restricts guns. criminals dont follow those law
prove it by stating how chicago use to have a full handgun ban, and even now that its new version still very restrictive. why they have one of the highest if not highest crime rate in the US? why are your laws not working
goalseter88 1 year ago
@goalseter88 how do you feel about the fact that the NRA thinks that people on the terrorist watch list should be allowed to purchase firearms including assault weapons?
a2apata 1 year ago
@a2apata lol how about you answer my question first. tell me why your so called gun ban only makes crime rise in chicago and also washington dc. both of have had no hand gun rules up till recently and are on the top of the list for crimes. i mean you say the laws only take the guns away from criminals. but how do these criminals have guns. there a law that says they cant have them. you mean they actually broke the law? NO WAY. its okay if you been fooled. not everyone is smart
goalseter88 1 year ago
@goalseter88 listen, don't call it my gun ban. That's the lie that anti gun control people are pushing. The overwhelming number of gun control advocates are not pushing a ban. They are suggesting laws like requiring background checks or providing law enforcement with tools that make it easier to catch criminals commiting violent crimes with guns. Doing that will make SOME wannabe criminals think twice if they think it's more likely they will get caught.
a2apata 1 year ago
@a2apata can you list any of those laws that your stating that arent restricting guns that the law abiding citezin can have? most of the things you stated are already in effect. like the back ground check etc. what now they are trying to add is that we cant have this or that. like in the clinton era. we couldnt have more then a 10 round mag, or the assault weapon ban, or chicago old gun ban or their new gun rules to get a gun, or washingtons gun ban that just now got taken down.
goalseter88 1 year ago
@goalseter88 and it's not enough to say that one group of people can have them and another group of people can't. You have to be creative and focus on the right goals. not taking guns away form people but keeping people from comitting crimes with guns. as for the chicago and dc gun bans, they were both struck down in recent years. they were replaced with other regulations and ordinances that may or may not reduce violent gun crime. Why? there are other variables other than just owning guns.
a2apata 1 year ago
@a2apata and to your reference on assualt rifles. you should do your research on them. i think from 2005 back there only been 13 reported crimes done with an assault rifles. so its abit more now i sure with that being outdated. but point is. assault rifles arent the threat. they are too big for criminals. criminals use rifles that are cheap to get, and are easy to conceal. assault rifles are BIG and NOT CHEAP. i could buy 2 to 3 pistols for the price of one assault rifle
goalseter88 1 year ago
@goalseter88 My reference to assault rifles was focused not on the weapon but on the fact that the NRA supports putting them in the hands of people on the TERRORIST WATCH LIST.
a2apata 1 year ago
wow. are you guys really that easy to fool? gun control is not about making guns illegal and taking them away from you. gun control is about making sure that they don't get in to the hands of those who will misuse them. As for comparing it to making alcohol illegal, it's the same idea. Alcohol is a dangerous substance in the hands of someone irresponsible. That's why there are alcohol control laws.

VforVendetta07 1 year ago

@chingkou Ever heard of the gun show loophole?
VforVendetta07 1 year ago
@VforVendetta07 I've heard of the "loophole". It's really not a loophole: If I were to buy a firearm and then decide that I don't like it, I can sell it to someone else w/o a check. HOWEVER, if I know that the person is/may be a felon, I could also go to prison. Also, Class 3 items (machine guns, silencers) can't be legally sold that way.
chingkou 1 year ago
@VforVendetta07 Have you ever looked at his voting record? He has voted time and again to outlaw all semi autos and handguns. Basically anything but that come out after 1900. He wants chicago style gun laws across the country.

I never said their was no gun control... there is and it must be ended now... what I said is that I don't need a license to own or carry! Stop being stupid!

ThePadintor 1 year ago
@ThePadintor
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez Glad we can have mutual respect. There is stupidity among gun-loving conservative rednecks but also gun-hating liberal pukes. Stats R funny. U can find stats that favor both sides. I go by what I C & know. I've been a policeman for 25 yrs, 20 yrs on the streets. Cops love 2 C responsible citizens with guns 'cause it makes criminals think. Also, when Islamists start their crap here in USA, (they already have), they'll know here there R more people with guns than in Europe. Peace
ThePadintor 1 year ago
@ThePadintor
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez Agreed. That's why we stress "responsible" law abiding citizens. There R millions upon millions of citizens with guns yet well over 98% of gun crimes are done by illegal gun owners (there goes those stats). If U make all guns illegal, law abiding citizens will not break the law so they will no longer have guns. Criminals though, will still have their guns. That's why I blame politicians, lawyers & judges. They need 2 get tough on criminals with guns. ( I'll continue on next post

@ThePadintor

@CarlMinez
Oh sorry. And hi again I haven't forgotten you. I meant to reply to another message :)
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez I don't believe anyone has a "every family for itself" mentality. We are part of a nation, and that's understood. But families make a nation, not the other way around. Nazi Germany and other socialists believe that nations make the family. That's why in every crisis, brave American men run to enlist for military service. We just believe every person has the right to protect himself ALONG with the state. Problem is, police will not always be there, so at least we are ready.
ThePadintor 1 year ago
@CarlMinez A stat from England shows that when guns were banned the murder rate from edged weapons went up through the roof. Even though guns were harder to get, criminals still were able to get some, but if thry couldn't get one fast enough, they had knives. Basically, it's a matter of behavior, not the tool. Hey,y ou have your opinions and I have mine. At least we can talk civil. Too bad people in government & the media can't take a lesson.
ThePadintor 1 year ago
@CarlMinez

@CarlMinez Swedish gun industry:
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez We don't choose to be victims, but being a helpless victim is a conscious decision you seem to be OK with. How 'bout you jump on a worthy cause such as fixing the social problems that lead criminals to kill people, you seem to know so much about life in the US. I've been held at knifepoint twice, lucky to be alive, so don't call self-protection bullshit. Maybe it's time to come out into the real world.
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez Maybe you should move to the US and live in Harlem or DC for a year and see where that gets you. The most violent cities in the US don't allow it's residents to protect themselves. The US isn't a brutal crime ridden country, you watch too much TV. Dirty Harry was just a movie.... most violence centers around large cities. Sweden's violent crime rate increased 200% over last 3 decades, but leveled off in US over last 15 years. Too bad you can't defend yourself.
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago

@CarlMinez Sweden claims neutrality but has been anything but. They provided steel, transpo, commo to Nazi's in WWII, then played the allies by providing "some" intelligence. They train, equip, and fund Swedish civilians and foreign fighters in multiple conflicts, but won't commit to anything. A national foreign policy of supporting both sides in a conflict is a policy of cowardice. Typical liberal mentality "I want it all and you must give it to me".
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez Pull stats out of my ass? are you kidding? The US is 44th in the world in homicide rates with 5/100,000. Do some research. The US reports all murders, regardless of circumstance (self-defense, accidental) in murder statistics, one of the only countries to do so. England's murder rate skyrocketed when they outlawed guns, now they're going after knives ("Knives take lives"). What's next, shoelaces and paper clips? Guns don't create criminals.
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
My "research" is founded on the World Report of Violence and health. Is that a source you question?
Its obvious that you dont take time to read my comments as you fail to answer my arguments. I said that the US ranks the highest in death by homicide in the world along industrialized nations. Not all nations.
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH

SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
Svara på det här videoklippet...
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH
CarlMinez 1 year ago
@CarlMinez In the US we enjoy certain freedoms and liberties granted by the Constitution that gov't can't take away,among them are right to keep and bear arms.Self-defense,national defense,and as part of checks n balances to maintain a gov't "of the people".Exploiting social issues as an excuse to take away these rights isn't tolerated.Capitalism doesn't create crime, it creates opportunity. That scares you I know, but don't worry cause Sweden would never ask you to fight for your freedom.
SnowboundinNH 1 year ago
@SnowboundinNH

The moment you should start worrying about freedom is the moment you wake up in a police state.
