not including those who suffer from mental illness, folks in this country need to realize just how important EDUCATION IS, Education is the only ticket out of poverty, if that means you have to sit under a street light to study, do so, but get that education, most people qualify for grants that will pay there way through college,,,and high school completion is usually free,
This made me sob like a newborn child. I swear one day I will help each and everyone of them, at least I will try. I will even sleep on dirt if I have to, and may God be the witness to my oath.
If we want to stop world hunger we need to stop capitalism. See, with capitalism poverty is inevitable, and since food costs money propel are bound to die all over while others live the life of luxury. Open your eyes, we can never reach out to the millions of hungry children unless capitalism is superseded by a better, more reliable system that places human life over paper.
ok honestly, if the grown ups dont have a job and are just sitting around waiting for it to land on their lap they r just lazy, i feel bad for these kids but not teenagers or adults cuz they could be out finding a job
Not all the homeless and poor are sitting around. many have jobs, even full time jobs, that son't pay a living wage. Don't paint them all with the same brush - that could have been any of us in the video, but for good fortune.
wow, it's kinds F'd up when people abuse there children. i mean if you don't want a child don't have unprotected sex. & there is always the choice of adoption. i was neglegticed as a baby left home alone in a crib when i was 3 months old my birth parents didn't have the right skills to be parents all six of us kids were adopted the state took us away i was taken at 6months and my bro was 1 yr at that time rest were taken at birth.

Yes I belive if families want to stay together they need our support. Why should women have to give up children ?. Do you know who controls the money ? Solve the problems, go to the top. Please lets look at the whole picture. They are us and we are them. Who controls poverty? The governments and the extremely extremely rich Maybe they should sleep on the streets but they don't have to .Why are they better? or luckier?
This is a 3 in one video.Lets look at thesecond one.Homeless childern. What about the numbers of famlies who want to adopt? Why should adoptive famlies go on the other side of the world to adopt? There are chilren here who should up up for adoption.People who cannot take care of their children should let someone else do it.Yes.If I could not feed my child I would let them go to someone who can.Dont be selfish. The kid did not do it.
because they want to! They probably never thought about it and sometime people says that it is giving up. Enless you did the best you can and can't do it anymore. Especially if you have older children. That is why people get help. If you are on drugs you should give them up but your children wouldn't understand why and they don't want to live with some stranger. Now if they have a baby then maybe. You don't have to reply back.
When psychotropic drugs came out quite some time ago many of the schizophrenia sufferers in institutions were pushed out because these medicines supposedly would help them. In reality it made them homeless. They got let out and couldn't take their medicine on their own or function on the outside. This is a big part of the problem with the U.S. We want quick fixes for everything. We don't use our heads. We try to fix shit overseas when we haven't got our heads straight here.
I totally agree with you. We studied that partuicular issue in a class I thought a semster or two ago. I worked with the mentally ill, in fact I just quit, and I truely in my heart feel that we need good institutions in this country because those people were just a burden to their families if they had one. At first, I just wanted them to be like us, but I learned that they cannot all become normal with drugs or therapy and perhaps there are better places for them then in the community.
That's a touchy subject you are getting on. I was a psychology major before transfering to music and you can't just put people in institutions. There are ALWAYS exceptions.
To put them in institutions is just sad. It's pretty much saying that their family or loved ones, if they have any, don't want to bother or take the time to take care of them. They don't want them around so they get sent to institutions for minor disorders. Heck, search Tom Harrell on here. Unbelievable jazz trumpet player. He has a very severe form of paranoid schizophrenia. The only time he doesn't here voices is when he plays.
Imagine how he'd suffer not having that in an institution. He has a wife who is there for him. People just need to learn to care more and not want everything so easy. People need to learn to love again.
That is all well and good, but I did the "trench work" so to speak. I saw just what happened when people were abandoned by their families and sort of went into mentally ill foster care. They moved a lot. They were cared for by underqualified people who abused them. They lived in homes that did not have the infastructure that a hospital does. It just did not work for all of them. For some, it worked miracles, others it just caused pain for everyone involved. They hurt themselves and others.
I saw so much in the sort time that I worked in social service, that it gave me a sort of overly jaded view on the world for awhile. I know that institutions are not always the answer, but they sometimes are the only answer. Not every parent can or for that matter should keep their children if they are dangerous to themselves or their families. Some people just cannot handle that. I have seen people who get beaten up by their adult children daily and still care for them because they are afraid
to let them go. They sleep with their doors baracaded and with not institutions, and not enough money for good care they live in fear of their children. I have two cases of this in my own family. I see people die from the stress of living with mentally ill family members. I have met the savants as you mentioned, but as they say there is only one Oprah. Not everyone is going to be brilliant at anything. There are always exceptions and specials cases with anything. I just know what the reality is.

Stop removing children from their fathers would be a good start - divorce doesn't mean i should be stripped of my son

No one actually dies from stress just to mention that, but the reality is that people have to use common sense.
