like i said before its just another way they can ripp you off as there is no other company in town that has elect service so be prepaired to get f@#ked with out the grease and there nothing we as the customer can do about it
The electric companies want to use the meters to impose prices that change hourly on customers. By charging you more during high-usage "peak" times on hot days, they hope to persuade you to shift your usage to "off-peak" evenings and weekends, as many consumers now do with long-distance phone calls.
With a new smart meter they charge you double during peek times. You bill can easily double!!!!!!!! It's only smart for them.
The United States has plans to install millions of smart meters with deployments to be complete between 2012 and 2015. Smart Grid technology helps to measure the amount of energy being used and also helps save energy during peak hours. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers is working in this direction too.
Stop OC Smart Meters

If these actually come to be (which they probably will)... I'm going to laugh so hard once people start hacking them to adjust usage.

Say No to smart meters. It's big brother in your home.

@ASLforever100 seems to be a growing number of people against smart meters. When I search the internet I see you everywhere!

CO2 emissions? That carbon-tax law was NOT even adopted yet and you already have it on the display?
Then when you turn on the lamp your meter measures first 105.4W then 110W but that bulb is 100W or less !?!
So THERE YOU HAVE at least a 10% inaccurate billing (in YOUR favor…) !
And when you "turn the load off" the light stops first and THEN you click the switch !
A bulb is pure resistive BUT ALL THE MODERN home electronics ARE NOT.
Today’s “loads” are NOT pure resistive; not even linear

This will be used to control and limit your energy usage. You won't be able to heat/cool your house as much as YOU want to.

Get solar energy with battery back up for night time, then no one will limit or turn off your power.

They will charge you reconnection charges. Somebody has to pay for all these meters.
