  • I fly a small 450 size heli at the park... and if I see even one person, Mission Abort. You never know.

  • @robbie2737 No i meant that it was weird that the helicopter they showed was a 450 electric heli you cant get a nitro 450 and they dubbed a ic 90 engine sound over it to make it sound more meaty , i do belive she got hit by a 600 if it is the heli the guy is walking away with that is a 600mm blade bloody big ... or if it was the yellow one under his rm that is a 500 by the looks wich is still really big i have only ever been hit by a 450 that bloody hurt.

  • I would bet my last buck to say this was a complete accident..These things are very dangerous...I seriously doubt there was any foul play...most guys like myself love this sport and would never hurt anyone purposely..but let this be a message learned to my fellow flyers..we must always be cautious no matter how good our flying day may be...It's really just common sense...Hopefully she recovered ok

  • I believe that it is unfair to post this video without posting a link to the follow-up story in which the helicopter community came out against these guys and their irresponsible behavior, and we donated a ton of money to the family of the victim.

  • Most of us RC pilot's plane or heli and i fly both. wouldn't fly in a park. I'm lucky i live on a farm and so fly with ease, But i still have a full AMA membership, Just in case. The inevitable accident happens......

  • @sootydave1 I thought full AMA membership only covered accidents at an AMA approved field. I could be wrong.

  • i feel bad about this. i fly rc helis too. 2500rpm on a carbon fiber blades would cause severe damage to something or someone and sometimes fatal.. be cautious guys. dont fly our mowers over people or some public areas like these..

  • Sue Spektrum RC they make faulty controllers and if it were a TREX thats lol starters chopper lol

thats terrible what happend to that girl spectrum is at fault

  • @jufeds im sure your a futaba guy... hahahah..peace bro

  • @khymlawrence1 Clearly see Grey Cons in their hands

  • 0:46 , That is clealry a 450 , Electric and they have dubed a 90 sized engine sound in , Why ?

And what a prick , Number 1 . he shouldent be flying anywere near people

And 2 . he should not be flying that close to a airbase , its only takes a brown out for one to get loose keep climbing altitude then it could of taken a full sized aircraft out ,

Silly boys , take those Align t shirts off you dont deserve to wear them.

  • @SleepEat3D Yes u are correct,That is a 450 but that heli you saw was just an example from a you tube video...the news station needed something to show it's audience...so they dug out a clip from you tube...not sure exacly what actual heli clipped her

  • planes/hellis are atratcted to people/expensive objects...kinda stupid to fly in the park where there is people. i actually feel kinda soory for that girl, i have went trough massive nerve/musscle dammage my self...and it fucking sucks

  • How that Trex 450 is really a uh.... toy

  • 0:58...toy helicopter-yeah right!

  • I understand what she was trying to say. It's not a full size helicopter

  • The helicopter is expected to make a full recovery.

  • That's why RC helicopters aren't toys. Anybody who considers them a toy is a fucking idiot

  • wow attleast they couldve stayed and checked if she was ok dang people this things can kill people i think it was gaspowered

  • @TheTheRISKtaker Lipo batteries and brushless electric motors are just as powerful as a glow plug engine now.

  • @Atomicskull well sure you are right electric moters really progressed and i think electric is better and cheaper than gas

  • Stupid bitch is looking for an excuse to get pain pills!

  • Comment removed

  • Damn man, that sucks! I wonder if they ever caught them? Hope so.

  • is she dumb???.......and those aren't TOYS!!!

  • could a palm sized heli do that???

  • @hod05 nope.

  • @hod05 I don't think it was a palm sized heli....I think theu labled the video in correctly

  • \damm cracker hicks are going to ruin it for everyone

  • no toys thats for sure them heli blades spin around 3000 rpm thank god she is not dead i fly helis guys assholes like this make it bad for all rc pilots i hope they catch them

  • Yet again, Dumb shits screwing things up for the rest of us..

  • well thats a lesson learned those things can spin up to 4500 rpm and with strong blades its obviously not gonna fell good if you see someone flying that stay the fuck away there are many things that can go wrong they are very fine peices of advanced machinery not toys

  • The likely hood of a purposeful attack? Very little to null. It look's like she got whacked by at least a 550, eg, not cheap. No pilot, even the few asshole ones I know would want to crash that.

Second, it's easier to just avoid park derps like the plague. What sucks is when you go to an empty large field, and then folks start trying to get close to the damn thing. Then they ask why I'm leaving -_-.....

Also....as usual, fox sucks. "OMG ITS THE HELICOPTER APOCALYPSE! BAN THEM NAOW" kinda stuff

  • First of All If you have AMA and Do Not fly at a sanctioned field you need written permission to fly at a site to be covered by AMA, I doubt these clowns had permission. Second It is the responsibility of the pilot to avoid anyone or anything that can be harmed by your aircraft. The civilian does not know the danger of your aircraft as you do! Finally they left without any report being filed, this could subject them to criminal charges. If any of you are AMA members you need to read the rules!

  • 1:06 HOLY CRAP! He is wearing an Align T-shirt! And by the looks of her damage, possible a trex 450 or so. Mr. Szabo..?

  • eny body who call these toys must be retarded cause, idk how a toy can cause such injury.

  • How dare you call a nitro heli a toy there like replica helicopter with engines and stuff go look at a picooz or syma or summit there toys

  • I doubt they aimed it at her. Also electric or nitro both are loud. So how i dont know she didnt know it was coming for her? lol

  • @2ftmonkey Because people are oblivious to their surroundings. I have that happen all the time when flying kites. They are very loud (anyone who flies stunt kites knows what I'm talking about) and yet people just walk across where I'm flying without noticing (and yes I land until the retards have passed) I don't see how these herpderps manage to walk down the street without getting run over.

  • ridiculous fox Fear-propaganda.

R/C aircraft pilots are NOT MORONS! we have insurance, (AMA card) most of us will even keep away from people at all costs, but in the event of a mechanical failure? what the hell are we supposed to do? drop the sticks and pray? Bullshit. I'm sure those men fought that helicopter down to cause minimal damage to that poor girl, (who is a dumbass for walking in the middle of where a helicopter is OBVIOUSLY FLYING) and you said they left AFTER the EMS! but also not?

  • @planelovingbastad

I mean seriously, first they left, then they stayed... then left, make up your mind! In this country we don't call pilots "criminals" for crashing real aircraft by accident. Yes its a mistake, that's why we carry liability insurance. Those men should've contacted the AMA, but where probably mortified at what had happened. also, honestly if you see a Heli flying at you out of control, for gods sake, move. Granted they should be at a registered field but still, common sense.

  • "Toy" is an ignorance assumption....

  • radio controlled aircraft? lol

  • to think this is an accident is outragious!!!! Give me a break. I would have never have been flying if there was anyone in the area but if i was them i would have been out just like them im not going to stick around and have my life ruined by the media and sue happy citizens. It was an accident and medical insurance should have easily picked up the bill especially if she is a dependent of a deployed service member. I know i me and my family have amazing insurance benifits through the army.

  • It's not a "toy". The blades carry a lot of kinetic energy.

You should only fly at a park that is designated for R/C. You should have an AMA membership which also covers persons injured, BUT only if you are at a designated flying field.

I've been at fun flies when people have crashed into the pits and only once witnessed the person grab all his stuff and take off without leaving any information. These types of people make it bad for all of us.

  • A couple of things ... first the news reader says " toy helicopter " any one knows RC are not toys - lol . Second , I doubt that the pilot hit her on purpose ... he was probably a novice . This is the reason I fly at the park when only no one is around .

  • still waiting for a brusless gyrocopter to chop of some ... !!

  • T-rex 700 is a "mini heli' ?:))

  • I have seen RC helicopter pilots performing their 3D stuff in close proximity to cars and people. When I see this, I keep wondering what is going to happen when one of these pilots loses control or experiences a mechanical failure and damages property or causes injury or death to someone.

  • Damn figures this would be in Florida... One idiot flies a dangerous machine in close proximity to a pedestrian and is clearly NOT in control of it and then freaking WALKS AWAY from someone with severe injuries THEY CAUSED?? Idiots... I see shit like that I'll take em out myself. I hope they are found and rot for it. RESPONSIBILITY, people!!!

  • Definitely an accident. Horrible none the less. I am an avid RC Heli pilot too and NEVER fly my helis near people. It only takes one moron to ruin it for everybody else. The technology that goes into these helicopters would blow your mind! It is possible that they had an electrical/mechanical malfunction, but they should NOT have left the scene or the victim.

  • That's why RC Helis are NO Toys!! Unfortunatly people don't see it that way. This video has past for over a year and in the meanwhile lot's of small accidents happend lately. As accidents happen all the time in extreme sports (as i call it) . Every starter should get a workshop or some sort of small educational training to prevent these kind of incidents. One of my friend gives workshops around the country and most are very pleased by it. Get informed before you start this hobby :) Good Luck!

  • @crazydutchboy99 /watch?v=VdIlUYiVmnc

    look at this guys injury!

  • I don't know, by her description it seems like they were purposefully flying around her, maybe trying to impress her or some dumbshit like that, and the battery died or they flew in too close. Why else would they have left?

  • RC helis are dangerous It will be after a death that the rules of were you can fly one will change.

The dammage they do when they hit can kill as its high speed blades are like cutters.

Funny you can't swing a sword or blade around your local park but you can fly a heli. THIS IS MADNESS

  • everyone runs when they know their in deep shit, even if it wasn't their fault. As for what happened I feel fine walking around people flying.

On a last note, why would someone waste a large amount of money crashing a helicopter into someone? cause you break the helicopter and have to get parts, I beleive this was an accident.

  • That's what girls get for treating us like crap if you must with us. SPEED FRESH will chase you with my Fury Extreme 90.

  • Looks like she has been hit with more than just a toy heli. She got the shit beat out of her with the ugly stick

  • i dont feel sorry for her. because she wasnt even on the walkpath she was n the middle of the feild its her fault

  • LOL, how can the news call these toys Or Mini? There Fucking HUGE look at he damage it done thats no toy... $900

  • Not on purpose, but maybe tried to get close for some reason ( showing off maybe)..

  • it doesn't seem likely that someone would aim a $1000+ helicopter at her. But it is unfortunate.

  • If it was intended or not they have to take responsability

  • Causing bodily injury and then leaving without offering help is a felony. No different than a hit and run.

Those individuals need a little jail time IMHO.

  • Vote for Ban everything for safety of future generations!

  • I fly these kinds of helicopters as well. Their not a child's toy, nor are they the cheap things you find in a mall. They are very dangerous and are not supposed to be operated in areas with people nearby. I feel terrible for that girl and can't imagine the pain that had to have caused. I hope she can make a full recovery. Fellow pilots... PLEASE, don't operate your crafts near people. Find your local flight clubs to fly at, or other areas away from people.

  • people should not be flying near people. when i fly and people are near i land its not safe to fly around people so be safe , and people if you see them flying stay clear . I hope the guys get in trouble they never should have left, you ass holes make pilots like me and my friends look bad. i hope she does not have pain for the rest of her life . im so sorry what has happened to her

  • the one on Youtube looked smaller 450 sized (still can hurt you) them guys had some what looked like 500 600 maybe bigger? sized helis, can kill someone! stupid flying that close to anyone!

  • The statement at 0:56 seconds is VERY untrue. Any RC helicopter large enough to cause that much injury is NOT a toy.

  • The pilots were ignorant for flying in a public park where there were other people around and irresponsible for not remaining on the scene and owning up to the accident. If they had remained, they could have avoided a lot of critical eyes being cast on the RC heli community in general. I'm sure they didn't hit her on purpose, but they may have been flying close to her to show off, and the contact happened by accident. Not smart, any way you look at it.

  • The more popular this hobby becomes, the more frequent we will hear about accidents like this. There is an organization called the AMA for people who want in this hobby that has strict codes to adhere to. I really don't think these people are even members. They are idiots of whom don't want to be governed by codes and policies that help protect people like this girl. And honestly I really don't think the battery died, this was a lame excuse and then to leave...Jail comes to mind.

  • i race rc cars every week and bash on sundays with my 4yr girl and my wife. Honestly this should not have happend . I fly too and if you are not by your self always always have a spotter when u are flying around in a park and ppl are freely walking around, We even have roped off areas to stand behind if you are not flying. These Idiots broke the number one rool u Never fly over anyone or your self. always keep enough room to bail out without potentialy takin someones LIFE EYE ARM A FINGER OR2.

  • MY GOD how in the hell could someone just grab there heli and walk away from this women this could have cut her throat took an eye out or anything. Tell me someone wasnt lookin after this girl she could have blead to death

  • @rcdriver26

At the end of the video they said they left after the ambulance left.

  • @kullprit no, they left when the ambulance came.

  • @flybar1000 Blades were still spinning because it was a nitro, controls went, motor stayed on... That's my theory :)

  • @darraghryancork that or they were lying...

  • @CyclingMagician Or maybe she deserved it! She shouldn't have strayed so far from the kitchen :P

  • Is it me or does anyone else notice how ugly and unhealthy this supposed "17" year old girl looks? She looks older than her mom! DO NOT WANT!

Also this is allot of damage to multiple body parts. I don't think anything less than a 600 class heli could pull that off lol. You'd have to restrain someone for torture to do that with anything less. Owned! Oh well... Next time when you hear whirling blades chopping the air, keep your head pointed in a cautious direction! Not the other way!

  • @jihadjared probably a crack whore run infront of heli to imporve her looks !

  • @darraghryancork That was a heartless thing to say, even after the fact.

As an RC pilot myself I have nothing but contempt for the men who flew their heli in a high-traffic area.

On the other hand, the reporter is an idiot. These things aren't toys even if "experts" like the FAA say they are. These things are every bit as complex or even more so than military helicopters and a lot can go wrong with them.

  • @darraghryancork You are being mean...

  • @darraghryancork They even spin when its an electric heli... at a 500 heli they spin with about 2500 to 3000 rpm and wont stop that fast...

  • @csdragon83 I have a 55E 3G but the failsafe will deffo stop that, whereas some nitro failsafes don't work as well cause they;re physical, no power, no servo movement!

  • Did he died

  • wtf? americans! I'm sorry for her (rc helicopter can do a great damage), but thinking about someone hitting her with an rc-helicopter to kill her is just FOX!

  • thats rcsuper powers video lol

  • Apparently they were AMA members. They should be named and shamed.

  • bingo !!! now she TV STAR lol

  • I think people should try to use a virtual RC flight simulator software like Pre-flight :)

  • @CanadianPinoy I don't think it would help in this case, these guys are just IDIOTS !

  • @CanadianPinoy True but they should also fly some where else besides a park where peolpe can walk around while there flying
