I plan to join the Marines when I turn 18, and I wanted to die in it, because I had no other meaning in life, other than the need to want to fight for my country, but after thinking about all those that I'd leave behind if I did achieve what I wanted to...it makes me want to survive, in the name of all the lost soldiers, who died, not because they hoped they would, but because some asshole took their life. I'll stand shoulder to shoulder with my brothers in arms until the end. God Bless America.

I swore to myself 4 years ago that I would never watch these tributes videos after I lost my brother in Iraq. Feeling sorry for him is not what he would have wanted. I am currently in Afghanistan, and sometimes I just need a good cry, but it's hard to let yourself turn on those emotions out here. I watch the homecoming video's and close my eyes thinking of the day I will be able to go home to my little boys, we are at a point in our deployment now where we can count the days. This video is amazing, and makes me fear something happening and me leaving this world and my babies.
Just wanted to say thank you, as a MARINE wife, I know the heartache of watching a loved one get on the bus to face the uncertainties of war. When I read the letter at 2:10, I totally lost it, It looked a letter my husband had given one of his MARINES on his 3rd deployment. Again, thank you for you dedication and selfless service . I'm a former Marine. 0331 Support Gunner E5 Ortiz-Gohn. At a funeral for my older brother Tyler I presented his folded flag to my nephew his son. We had both risked our lifes to save 9 other Marines. I got my left arm and leg blown off. My older brother was KIA. Why am I still here? Why didn't I die with him that day? The look on his son's face I'll never forget. He said to me "Dad is free now, he earned it." What about me, have I earned it yet?

We lost many brothers out there. This video is touching to say the least but also brings out the importance of hanging on to those you love who serve in combat. Tomorrow is never guaranteed...and thats true for everyone.

I hate this war! But I love the these brave warriors who are putting their lives on the line day in and out for a war that in my opinion was unesessary. This should be played on every channel everyday so we don't forget that we are still fighting this. Instead everyone is so concerned with a dead pop star who didn't do a damn thing for us expcept dance and sing. My thoughs are with all those who sacrifice for me and my family and ask nothing in return. God bless and hurry home.

I Cry..I AM a bull Dog at 17 ,,I wanted to go to war. The Marines Were really screwed up in 78 when i enlisted..Drugs Used in the barracks all night..THere was no control at all! I feel dam guilty this war did happen for me.

I'm a former Marine. 0331 Support Gunner E5 Ortiz-Gohn. At a funeral for my older brother Tyler I presented his folded flag to my nephew his son. We had both risked our lifes to save 9 other Marines. I got my left arm and leg blown off. My older brother was KIA. Why am I still here? Why didn't I die with him that day? The look on his son's face I'll never forget. He said to me "Dad is free now, he earned it." What about me, have I earned it yet?

thankyou for posting your comment, it means alot to me. last week in the town of freetown massachusetts, a young man named tyler trahan lost his life in iraq. he wasa navy seal. he was 22yrs old. he came from a military family, 3 generations. i ask you to keep him in your prayers along with his family. thanks again, god bless

I feel sorry for ame9903 who apparently has never stood up and fought for the innocent or the weak and must not understand that our country has always and hopefully will in the future continue that legacy.
