hi , i have a reflecting mirror telescope and i have a 2x barlow as my most magnofide and and 6mm eyepiece as my most magnifide. im trying to find something that will help me with farther objects in space. (i can see jupiter as a bout 3/4 the size of a dime at my most magnifide)
Hai Sturgeon, I want to construct my first telescope. How would i use achromat of 55 mm diameter, -4000 mm FL (coated). What type of eyepiece will be more better for a astronomical telescope. Give your precious guidance and suggestions. I planed to be within $50
@imanoob4 everyone wants it! But you can get less costly Eyepieces of the same quality and high field of view like the Celestron Ultima LX or the Skywatcher Super Wide Angle Panaview with 70 degrees FOV and 28mm Eye Relief pretty high and half the price of the Tele Vue. The only tele vue is really worth buying even with that price is the Ethos 110 FOV which is truely amazing.
Hi everyone......I want to buy a telescope but I don't know which one I should go for it's either going to be an Orion atlas 10 or an Orion skyquest xt12....which one should I go for......I want one that will allow me to some deep-sky viewing(galaxies, nebulas etc) I know both of the are able to see the mentioned above but which one is the best one....what's your reccomendation.....which one would you guys choose
im a beginner and want to buy a telescope. i' ve been watching some telescopes and i liked the ''Orion ShortTube 80-A Refractor Telescope''. what i want is to look the moon and some other planets like jupiter, mars, venus, and saturn.
Would that telescope mach for me, or is there anotherone u could recomend me???
Er. Excuse me. 2nd 'scope. Maximum 45 x magnification with f/10 and 100mm aperture? Sorry? The only reason that "new" short focal length scopes have colour corrected objective lenses is because theres something wrong. IE: they're so fast they wont focus all colours of the spectrum to one point. Resulting in nasty halos around bright objects. If you can't get 25 x magnification per inch of aperture, don't bother. Fast 'scopes are crap. The "old boys" knew their stuff.
@Spraycando Woah! I think you misunderstood! He is saying that an eyepiece will give different magnifications depending on the focal length of the telescope. As the first telescope is 540mm focal length, the equation is 540mm/22mm= 24.5x. The second telescope is 1,000mm/22mm=45.5x. In general, under average sky conditions, the average telescope can only achieve about 25x-30x per inch of aperture. So for the second telescope that equals about a max of 120x, beyond that, images will look smeared.
These are well done. Thanks for putting them on youtube. Cuts out a lot of confusion about telescopes. I still don't know what to get....but I'm a little less confused. Haha!
