I saw AIC at Lalapalooza.....1993........an­d it was amazing. I was 19, and AIC was my favorite band. Right before they went on, it was POURING RAIN with a tornado warning. The rain stopped, they came on stage, and opened with Rain When I Die. Epic. Layne was wearing a suit with a three stooges tie.

But at least with all the newer stuff, DuVall complements Jerry's voice well whereas Jerry would more complement Layne. Duvall is awesome, but it's so hard for people who grew up with AIC seeing and hearing Layne. But Layne was only half of that trademark AIC voice, so all they did was just replace the other half of Cantrell's voice that was missing. Now there's a whole generation of AIC fans out there who will only know Duvall as the singer and will learn about Layne from their parents or much older siblings! Damn it, when did grunge become "classic rock"?
