lolz, if they can't break the door down they'll bust a window or drill out the lock. The only place you should get an expensive Lock is on an apartment with no other possible way in, otherwise what's the use? just get a cheap lock if you have multiple ways into your house. I just love how cops are allowed to destroy your property so they can bust you for ripping a tag off of a mattress. What if the cops are wrong? who pays for that?
what about when your house or apartment is burning, and get this, the door hilariously wont break for the fire fighters and your trapped in a burning coffin, but hey at least your secure right ?
That door and wall are giving so much no duh it doesn't break open. Make it a SOLID wall and it would come down no problem. The rebound is reducing the peak force of the ram and spreading it out over a longer time interval. For example if i hit a door in a 1 sec. collision with 600 Newtons if the same collision was 2 seconds the force would be half at 300 Newtons.
This door stayed in place because the company hired my sister-in-law to place a chair against the other side of the door and sit on it while they tried to break it down. She just plopped down and ate a few sandwiches throughout the testing phase. I'm so glad she found a way to get paid for being a fat fucker!!
So if you are in danger.. perhaps your room is on fire or someone picked the lock and locked it back.. it's going to take the police quite some time to get to you?
Good lock, bad video. Now they show this, all the terrorists will know & buy this lock. and police will not be able to get them hiding in the house. because they can't break inside. the secret is reveeal
Yes, if it's a wood door, just hit the door just hit around the locks in half circle way until it breaks and then finish off with a large sledge hammer and maybe a little Johnny with an axe. Nah, a chain saw. I bet the police have all of that if they need to.
This is a naff demo! the fake wall is helping absorb the impact. if the wall was firm the full force would be taken on the lock itself and not distributed through the flexible door and wall and anyway you could just bump the lock or attack the hinge side... OR! break a window. If someone wants to get in they will!
No, not that deadbolt lock because they installed the lock cylinder up side down. Because of gravity the bump key wont work. Also, especially if it has a good pin combo and security pins.
It's not the lock... It's the door and frame that are resisting all those blows. Put that same lock on a cheap wood entry door and frame and a 9 yr old girl will be able to kick it in.
This is impressive, but that wall seemed flimsy, I know it's just a demo, but i would like to see it on a much sturdier wall. I get the feeling that it was soaking up a lot of energy just bending the wall.
I think a better test video would be to put a normal deadbolt in the door down the hall and see how that holds.
If it's early in the day or night. Call a friend or relative and ask if you can borrow the power drill, a carbide drill bit and power cord and drill into the bolts that hold it on the door. Or, if you just happen to have those tools in your garage or shed.
this video says nothing about the lock. if you look at how much the wall is flexing. the majority of the force being applied to the door is being transferd to the walls, if the walls were strong enough like they should be, and didnt flex with each hit, i highly doubt it would withstand any amount of abuse that it took in this video
For all I know this video could be missguiding in several ways. Next time, show me both sides of the door, so I dont know theres a 300 pound steelwall behind that door.
@bobbysam232 I have heard of it happening in SWAT situations. if they think the door is set up like this (or in some SOP they have it standing by) they make 12g shotgun shells that are just damp, compressed sand. they use them to blow the hinges and locks apart without causing any lethal shrapnel to go through the door. This is why in a combat zone you almost never see ram's. 8 shells is still under 1lb
dude! seriously... if the officers cant get in then, the people that are running from the cops just needs to get that lock, and when they hear them "trying" to ram the door down they can run lol
@sprintracr11 You cannot just drive long screws into a door frame because any amount of force the wood to splinter right down the middle. Our striker plate allow the screws to go in at a 30 degree angel and thus preventing the wood to splinter.
@millenniumlock In the video he is taking a direct hit to the lock just use the ram and punch a hole in the door the type of door used in the video is easy to do it.
@iam1lostboy Yes and no. A standard deadbolt fails as well as a door jam because it adsorbs all of the impact from a kick-in destroying the lock. Our lock offers a shock absorber and an extra throw bolt for crow bar attempts.
The door may give in after longer amounts of punishment, but in this video the door was hit 16 times with a 40 pound battering ram, and still did not give in. These tests are meant to show you to amount of force they can take. What deadbolt do you know can take a beating like this?
Your welcome, No our lock works with both metal and wooden door frames. It takes a little longer but its worth it. If you have a metal door and door frame and our lock, you are not going to be getting more than 4000 pounds of pressure.

Thanks for answering so fast. Does it matter if one has a metal frame and a standard metal apartment door when installing this lock or are wood doors and frames are ideal for the screws to hold well inside the frame?
for your second question your wrong because our screws go in at a 30 degree angle and when you kick or ram the door the 3 1/2 inch screws that are inside the 2 2 by 4s in the door structure start to bind around the wood thus making the lock even stronger. The reason why the other guys cant o this is because there screw are in at a 90 degree angle and thus splintering the wood on any kind of impact it may encounter.
The lock is not very easy to pick because it is a 6 pin high security spool pin lock. Not to mention that our lock offers a over ride button that can render eve your own key to your own from door useless in seconds. Check out or video pop-a-lock vs. ultimate lock on our channel and see for your self.
Also, many people including me forget that a best lock on a week door or old wood frame won't hold up to a good ramming. I had a good deadbolt but the force of impact broke the frame and ripped the lock through.
This lock definitely looks solid and of good quality. But I'm concerned about lock picking and ease of lock bumping even in big named reputable multi cylinder locks. I wish UltimateLock would design the same deadbolt but with a key-less quality high tech keypad to eliminate picking or bumping potential.
Every home in America has some sort of lock, but our lock is the first lock of its kind to take advantage of the door, the door frame, and the door jam. If the door fails to work after someone takes an 80 pound battering ram to it, so what. The criminal is not able to get in buying you and your family time. Can your lock handle an 80 pound battering ram?
The point of the lock is to keep someone out not keep someone out and keep the door in perfect working order. Just compare replacing a door with what you could face if someone gets in. Most people think well I will just shoot the SOB. Then you'll get to see first hand just how F'd up our legal system is, even if your in the right.
I'd rather keep them out while I have my phone in one hand and gun in the other, just in case.

AND why is this test taking place on an interior door? Which has huge flex capacity when it's steel, compared to an exterior frame set concrete?
