  • ohhh.. nice and interesting report.. so what could be the hardest engineering?

  • I'm the only student on our class chose chem. eng. as a course in college. I don't know why my classmates chose those easy course to study. Is chem. eng. a very hard one? I am good in math and sci.

  • I plan on studying computer engineering

  • what i mean is, having to spend all your time studying when your in undergraduate school. hours and hours in the library, reading books, working math problems.

I never studied to be one, but from what i read on the internet, and skimming through the books about "phase equilibra" (spelling?) it seems as if your spending large periods of time studying

  • i had considered being a chemical engineer, but having to spend ALL the time studying seems very lonely.

  • Thats total BS. Like all chemical engineers 90% of you time is spent interacting with other people - It is only lonley if you make it.

  • Good start on the field and pretty funny. I wish the problems I had to solve were quite so easy as a guy sleeping on the job (though i've seen it, 3 am in a factory can get pretty quiet and sleepy.) Chemical Engineering -- c/o '01.

ChemE isn't as hard as they say, the biggest problem is knowing that it is something you would like to do. It is a complex field with many avenues from hard science to business.

  • I want to major in chemical engineering but dont kno anything about it :( Should I pursue in what I want to do or choose another major??? I need advice, help, motivation lol. No one is helping me :( Thanks!!!

  • well as a to be Chem Eng ask ur self this are u really interested and GOOD in chem and math..lots of it and studying ur as off..im good in both and wasnt used to that much studying in high skool its different story in college cant be a chem eng without passing college its the hardest engineering ..well expept computer engineering i think not so hot with the programming

  • hey, your words describe EXACTLY my position right now, could you please tell me how it worked out for you, and maybe pass some advice along to me?

  • This video is hilarious, and I love the V.O. It's very informative about what chemical engineers do, and the contrast of the video makes it an entertaining watch.

  • That was a reply to pita7777's post

  • I want to start my own business after I / graduate (MEng degree) Any recommendations?

  • Hey, great job on the video. I thought it was pretty funny. I'm a senior chemical engineering student at Virginia Tech, and I thought that your information about chemical engineering was fairly accurate.

  • Well done with the video.

  • i really wanna study chemical engineering.....it's hard work

  • Im first year chemical engineer, quite demanding, but well worth it and enjoyable =D

  • is the chemical engineering very hard as they say?

  • Hey guys. I'm a high school student from Asia. Looking into prospective courses that may suit my capabilities... Well, I'm kinda well accompllished with my MAths skills and i'm the analytical type.. Kinda ok with my literary achievements and really looking to go into some course that could help me develop myself.. Anyone with any advise for me? Do contact me via my profile.. Trying to avoid displaying email address due to spam... Sorry and thanks..

  • i want to be a chemical engineer but my math skills are gonna be required for this :D

  • nice...i like Chemical engineering...its a good way 2 improve the world and help ppl.....and make drugs :P (u wana get high)..

  • And explosives! (very dodgy considering my race but it's fun)

  • From CNN Money 2007, the highest starting salaries are (from highest to lowest):

Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering

Thats the list of the largest engineering fields. Petroleum engineering is small, but they have the highest starting salaries.

  • Whats the highest paying engineering???

  • I think chemical engineer.

You shouldn't do it for the money though. Sure the salary is high, but there are many more things to take into account, like advancement opportunities, stability, insurance, etc...

A doctor or a lawyer could easily end up making more money than any engineer and also, you will have to study by yourself after you're done with the university just to keep up.

  • In the UK the highest is Electrical, electronic and computing engineering. (Only 4 people who can handle doing equivalent of 3 degrees in 4 years! Around £70,000 starting if you are good)

    Then Chem E. around £35,000

  • That would only apply to people who do not want to move. Engineers have high salaries and get excellent wages in rich countries like Dubai (tax free money)and Germany. The Washington Accord also makes it easy to get jobs in a large number of countries,so you will have rare situations where your degree isnt accepted. Finally, chemical engineer grads are the most widely accepted students in medicine in canada which makes it a better bet than being stuck with a Life Sciences degree if not accepted

  • hahaha...this course is very famous among female nowadays

most guy goes for electrical, mech or civil engineering

  • yes... here in the philippines more females are taking chem eng... the guy-girl ratio is 3:10... the ratio of chem eng students from other engineering field is 2:10.. aprox

  • yes here in the philippines the guy-girl ratio of chem eng is 3:10

  • nice job

  • A bike? hahahaha! Common' a you shield bring the biggest, baddest car!! Anyway, you chose the best career as an chemical engineer!! one of the best job with great possiblities and rewards :D
