@whtkdtn1401 it was a st croix tidemaster. actually the rod did a great job, it was just too big of a skate/ray to handle it for so long

doesnt matter what matters is if his rod broke he is using to heavy fishing line and or the drag wasnt set properly for the pole if you have a 40lb action pole and are using 60lb line and no drage the pole is going to break get lighter line or set the drag properly

@IfUCWhatIC he didn't know he was going to hook into a huge skate like that.  once a skate that size hugs the bottom like it did, its tough to get it to release from the bottom.

i have a feeling adam is going to do some more testing with his new rod this weekend :)
