But Tsuruya-san is Japanese, and Japanese people are always introduced as their last name followed by -san or -kun or something. Tsuruya is introduced as Tsuruya-san, and without a doubt she is Japanese. So no other Japanese person would think that her first or last name was "San". It's definitely an honorific.
