@LovezHD It's a little difficult to remember, but I'd guess the C-7 is heavier. Even if it was 10 times as heavy, it is a much better guitar than the RG7321 in my humble opinion.
my question: how do you find the medium frets, are they comfortable while playing? and what can you tell me about the pick-ups output, are they good enough for extreme metal?
@bleechedbones I have to say, both your questions are very subjective. I find the frets comfortable, but I do use big chords that sometimes make me miss the fret size of my Les Paul. I think the pickups sound great, but that is also a matter of personal taste. :)
@jbrook51 Yes - if you go to there website and find the "C-1 Custom," you will find it. It is available in more finishes than the C-7 and you can also buy it with a Floyd Rose.
Hello everyone! I have a slightly better camera now - if you'd like to see reviews of any of the studio's gear, let me know! We have a rare Epiphone Les Paul Limited Edition, Epiphone ES-335 Dot, Epiphone Thunderbird, a Squier 5-String Jazz Bass (which I have a lot to say about), a Yamaha Motif ES7 and a Korg Triton LE8 currently on hand that I can review.
@maugiguitar I have only played a C1 Hellraiser with the Floyd Rose. I have never played a C-7 Hellraiser or Black so I can't really say how they compare.
@GuitaristfromHell100 Makes a lot of sense. I found a spot on their website saying why they do that, and you are correct. It just really threw me off at first!
i have the blackjack atx c-7, which is really similar to this guitar only with active pups instead of the passives, and the 2 knobs that control the pup volume are also that way round on mine. maybe it's just the way schecter do it?
@tritonrecordings haha it is man and if i didn't buy that one i was going to buy the custom. i was torn between the two but having used active pickups in my last guitar i just stuck with the actives.
@VegasPoker I actually -really- want the Blackjack ATX C-7 now. Yellow binding with the flat black finish and sorta lightning bolt inlay? It's very sharp lookin'.
haha thats crazy, iv been looking for a 7 string for a year or so now and iv even considered making one with my dad wich im still definatelly going to do but for now, i want that guitar
the crazy thing is its so very similar to my cort kx custom with seymour duncan pickups with a pop up tone nob single coil switch thing, i think im in love, i want to play it now :-) and for like 800 from sweatwater! thats just rediculous!
@tritonrecordings Re-he-heally? thats awesome man! thanks a bun for the assurance that sweet-water is ok :-) you have soothed my worry's i have decided that since my cort is so similar to this to instead go for the hellraiser c-8 for the difference in the pure tremendous thunderous tone :-) 3 weeks to go, cant wait! thanks again - Rafiki
@shaterproofblosm Or you could upgrade the pick-ups on this one. Maybe more high-end Seymour Duncans or EMGs. The pickups on this are good, but my Les Paul's pickups are better, which tells me I should upgrade at some point. But they really aren't bad at all. Better than any Ibanez stock pickups.... (I upgraded to the C7 Custom from an Ibanez RG7321)
@tritonrecordings yeah man :-) i have the exact same pickup setup on my cort kx custom, i think there pretty dam amazing, really natural but there presence is just amazing, really warm, smooth but able to be really powerful, i don't think il have much trouble leveling a mountain with these bad boys if i just had a 80,000 w amp, but because i have my beloved Cort for that general dreamy tone i think would rather having something allot heavier like the hellraiser c8 or something :-)
i have a question : yours one had the "flower" in the headstock like c-1 custom, but i checked out the schecter official site, there is no "flower" in the c-7 custom's headstock. why was that?
@blackwenge Good observation. I just checked and you're right, it's not on there. Manufacturers can be weird with stock pictures. Every C-7 Custom should have the flower thing on the headstock. Every picture I have seen of the C-& Custom that ISN'T a stock image has the flower too.
I realize I am no good on camera, so I apologize for the lameness of this so-called review. I also say "uhh" a lot subconsciously. At least it lets you see the guitar on video as opposed the stock pictures online which really don't do the justice. After all, it's the first (probably the last) review I've done. Hope you may have found it somewhat useful though! ~Rob Parker (TRS Manager, Producer/Engineer)
@ktuluworld I'm glad you like the review! It is a great guitar and I'm very happy with mine - you will like yours too. Be sure to get a case for it, you don't want a guitar this pretty getting scratched up!
how would the weight feel compared to an ibanez RG?

@JEUXolim Thanks, haha. No kidding though. Not like I could've gone outside to enjoy the weather...so I made a video. ;)

for the volume knob that is how they do them. IMO I like it better that way because I use my bridge more.

@tritonrecordings I can see that. It throws me off when the neck volume is closer to me. Depends on what you're used to playing. It's all good man.

I notice the frets are "medium". Have you come across any problems when bending notes high up on the fretboard?
