Hey I am Indian (Punjabi) and this is one of the few Pakistani films I have watched. And I thought it was good, well acted - but I agree with some of the comments a rather flat ending.
i al most listen this song every day, and it reminds me of my school days- one of the feavourite songs of its time and still i love this song. i wish i could go back in the time and live that time again and again.
@abrarfaisal219 No Dear, that's not right! as a matter of fact this is one of the best work of Pakistani Cinema and was even presented in several International film festivals to represent Pakistan. Was released in 1980 and crossed Golden Jubilee (more then 50 weeks) and also received praises from the film critics all over the Pakistan too.
@abrarfaisal219 That's might b yr personal opinion, otherwise film's ending makes a very perfect sense coz a young boy falls into love with an older lady who take him as his younger bro & when he tell her about that, she not only slaps him but also tell him that coz of this now she don't anymore hv respect for him. Then faisal realize his mistake, 1st try 2 commit suicide & later on learns his lesson that his age is just 2 prepare himself 4 the future not 2 being romantic with an older lady.

Where is Faisal bhai? I met twice in Pakistan..... he is a great man but was in a frame of mind where I could only see desperation... smoke & drink type of environment
just amazing song, you just remind me my teen age.this song for me a heaven.this was my favorite song all the time.I wish i could go back to that time.(pakistan)
Although it is little bit late now but when I read your comments on this song "Sama wo Khawab Sa Sama", I felt that it is written by me not you. It seems that this song was favorite of so many young people at that time. Great Music of Great Musician Robin Ghosh and Great poetry of Saror Bara Bankvi. Yes your are absolutely right, even when ever I heart this song (Almost every day), and I also wish that I could go back to that Golden time, to my great country Pakistan and to my great city Karachi
@AMINSADRUDDINBHAYANI ...it doesnt look same though, thats what iv heard ....i know this karsaz rd, was changed i saw 15 yrs ago though....ur commments dragged me back to those days...
Thanks for your comments. Actually this song was filmed on Molvi Tamizuddin Khan Road popularly know as M.T. Khan Road (Old Queen's Road), at the World Globe right in front of Islamia College and on Kashmir Road, but not on Karsaz Road.
Though this is a 31 year old song, but I still love it.
excellent song by akhlak ahmed, who was an asset to our film industry, wish he was given full appreciation which he deserved. he had a smooth voice with good contol over his voice.r.i.p.
THIS MOVIE CHANGED THE TREND OF PAK FILM INDUSTRY. A VERY DELICATE SUBJECT WAS HANDLED VERY CLEVERLY.REMEMBER THAT WAS ZIA's MARTIAL LAW TIME, WHEN EVEN HUGGING WAS ALLOWED.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HEROINE OF FILM,I MEAN THE GIRL WITH BIG EYES, WHO WAS IN NAZ PAN MASSALA AD. I HEARD SHE ACTED IN SOME HARDCORE MOVIE?
I am delighted to learn that your father wrote the lyrics for some of the songs of "Nahin Abhi Nahin". I saw this film in 1980 in Lahore and was blown away by it. Seriously, it is one of my all-time favorite films and helped me deal with my upcoming teens!
I would appreciate if you could kindly advise if a good set of recordings of the songs are available anywhere? I am also interested in purchasing a restored version of the film on DVD.
its pity that we are crazy about bollywood's work, and ignore our gems. This song is beyond comparison. Faisal is absolutely amazing. Robin Ghosh and Akhlaq Ahmed a winning combinition.
You are right .. Faisal was very good looking and very talented .. he came on board when Pakistani movie industry was dying under General Zia .. that's why he never got a chance to make big .. he still looks young as long as you see him from atleast 20 feet away :-))
Faisal's real name is Arman. He was five years senior to me. we both went to St.Anthoney's high school in lahore. I still do remember I was so much facinated by him as a movie actor when I will see him in the break time or after shcool was finished. brings back so many memories.
Composition of this song is taken from an english song "I loved you yesterday and yesterday is gone".. However, Robin Ghosh Sahab converted it beautifully into Pakistani style.. He is a very talented composer.. too bad for us Pakistanis as a nation, that we don't give a damn to our heroes..whether scientists, philosephers, players, actors, composers or in any other field.. we only like "bahar ka maal"..
Lets enjoy this beautiful song.. I was 8 or 9 when I saw this movie in Arshi cinema in F.B Area, KHI and 2 months later again in PAF cinema in Peshawar (with my aunt :>>)... beautiful music by Robin Ghosh Sahab and ofcourse Akhlaq Ahmed Marhoom "is" the best... It seems this song was recently composed and sung.. this music is better than the todays music..
hahaha .. Shabnam "burhape" mein, acting like a college girl.. welcome to pakistani movies :-)) I remember in one movie, Mohd Ali marhoom (he must be 40 at that time and god bless his soul)came running with books in one hand, "ammi huzoor, mein pass ho giya" .. it cracked me up big time :-)).. that sure was the biggest comedy I've ever seen ...
such a lovely song.. Faisal looks great.. one of my relatives lived in Maymar Complex (where Faisal is riding the bicycle).. he saw this movie atleast 20 times just because his apt was shown for 1 second :-))and he made everyone else see this movie too... and he was very upset that he didn't know when the shooting took place ..
The movie 'Nahin Abhi Nahin' dates back to early 80's. However NTM displayed the movie in November 1992. That was when I watched it. Can you find other songs, 'uss ne dekha' if I remember it correctly.

We have no choice
But to rejoice,
And sing to one another:
That golden day will light our way,
The road goes on forever,
We walk along as long we may,
And we will sing together.

Only Mr Nazur-ul-Islam sahib could treat such a subject with such a delicate balance .
Yes the girl is Arzoo Ahmed ,
beside Naz Pan masala she appeared in a number of commercials,..
And Yes , a small portion was shot at Maymar Complex , .
Infact , one shot was in the same corridor on which My uncle had a flat.
....thanks for bringing back, some of the golden memories , which I cherish.
thanks again
