So sad this got canceled after 1 season. The books provide so much base material and the character of Harry Dresden is one of my favorites of all time.
I never doubted him for a second. When the gist of the plot to this episode was leaked on Jim Butcher's forum (before this episode aired) I and a handful of others kept defending Bob against those who were sure he'd really betray Harry.
I would give anything for The Dresden Files to come back with new episodes. I love the incarnation of Bob used for the TV show. I just fear that in 2012 when Lionsgate loses the rights and the rights fall back to Jim butcher than we'll never see anything to do with Hrothbert of Bainbridge (the show version of Bob) again. He was my favorite part of the show.
I would have loved to learn who killed Harry's mother? Since his uncle was not the responsible party. It is too bad those cheap bastards decided to cancel The Dresden Files series.
Robert Wolfe (One of the producers and writers of The Dresden Files TV series) said that if the show was to continue that they would bring in a show version of Thomas Raith very close to the books. In the books it was Thomas Raith's father whom killed Dresden's mother. Thomas Raith is Harry's vampire half-brother. You learn all about him in The Dresden Files novel Blood Rites.
Yes. This was so good. I wish The Dresden Files had more closure though. They should not have ended it the way they did. There were unresolved story lines. They should have given it some grand finale and allowed poor Bob to move on like Sir Simon de Canterville of The Canterville Ghost. That would have been satisfying.
This one is my absolute favorite episode of Dresden Files. It's such a shame that there is no Season 2. This episode reveals a great deal about Harry and Bob's pasts. It also helps the audience to realize just how much Bob actually cares about Harry. It's a powerful and important episode. I felt it would have worked great as a Season finale. There should have been a Season 2. This was the most intense, well written and well acted episode of the show.
Oh, I agree. This is definitely better than Legend of the Seeker. And there is no thinly disguised S and M story line. If you've seen Legend of the Seeker you know what I'm talking about. And this was very true and honest and well researched in regard to occult belief. I would give anything for this show to come back.
kinda new to the books this episode kinda reminds me of new moon a little.

Well that brings up the question, Who would play Thomas?
FallenSK8TER051 2 years ago
wasnt it the king of the white court vamps?

Yes, Thomas Raith (Dresden's half brother's) father.

Well, it was better than a lot of the adaptations they do, anyways... (Wizard of Earthsea SUCKED...)
It really gets me that a show like this gets cancelled when it's so much superior to, say, that series on ABC based on the Sword of Truth series.
