Agreed, that was a terrible punt. Actually it was a better performance by their special teams coverage putting pressure on the returner and making them drop it. Not really anything special by a punter.
Your comment makes no sense. It is GREAT for a football team when a punter has an outstanding game. Special teams is one of the most important parts of the game. You must not watch very much football.
Not necessarily. In big time football, it is impossible for a team to kick a field goal or score a touchdown on every possession. Georgia Tech scored 30 points in this game. So their offense played quite good.
Punters and Kickers are very underrated and underappreciated in college football. Field position is crucial in college football and 3 points can change a football game.
thats how important punters are, they give you better field position for the defense to work with. Some punters indirectly win or lose games for their teams..Brooks helps Tech win games, without a doubt.
Durant just totally outdid himself today vs. UNC with a 77-yard (NET!) punt from from the back of his own endzone. The returner had to turn around a sprint to try to catch up with it and STILL couldn't get anywhere close to it.
He's a beast, and he'll be punting on Sundays without question if you ask me. Should be a lock for All-American and Ray Guy award this year, IMO. He's a total playmaker at a position where you can't really "make plays."
Kickers and punters get little or no respect from most people. But they sure as hell get some from me. :) Brooks is something else. The last punt: classic.
not to mention he was the difference in the end the year before as well. this guy fucking booted one of the longest punts i have ever seen right in front of my eyes. great special teams make a big difference.
after all, special teams is the third most important part of the game
BoomerSoonerAllDay 1 year ago
I was at that game, and his punt out of the end zone was the most important play made that day, easily.

i myself appreciate kickers especially punters. you give me a punter who can punt the ball to the 10 or below and you'll have me jumpin for joy

that end zone punt was unbelievable, the entire crowd was like, WTF how did he do that??

you are right it was a terrible punt except for that it went 65 yards you fucking retard
artwarkam 2 years ago
Right, I'm the retard when NONE of his punts went 65 yards. Do you know how punt length works? You go from the line of scrimmage. Fucking retard
kram005 2 years ago
well it is college football///
noobainator 2 years ago
Punt length is from the line of scrimmage, none of his punts went 65 yards, "you fucking retard"
kram005 2 years ago
alright i am sorry his longest went ONLY 63 and the rest were all at least 45 yard punts from the line of scrimmage

its kinda sad for the team when the punter has the best game of his career

ah, if the punter is having a great game that means the offense isnt getting first downs.

Yep... scored 30 points... and WON!
Only in games coached by Paul Johnson does the punter make no difference.

Such a shame when the Skin couldn't get Sav Rocca, but this is as good an acquisition as you can get.

This guy is much better then Rocca, hes like 10 years younger. Hes a franchise punter.
