I went to see it last Tuesday, during this scene, as soon as Ramin picked up the chair it shattered all over the stage. . . both him and Hadley was trying so hard not to laugh!

Can anyone tell me why there are thump, gasping, and panting at 2:14? I haven't watched the actual musical, only anniversary DVDs, so I saw people only standing in front of their mikes.

@jgoodrich46 that's Javert and Valjean fighting. Javert with his truncheon and JVJ with a chair which he breaks around 1:37 .. So most likely it's Hadley running or falling to the ground, as Javert basically gets his ass kicked at the end of the song.

@onedaymorex Thank you so much! Nothing happened in 25th anniversary and it made me thought Jean Valjean broke his promise of "three days" with Javert and ran away. It would have been so awesome to see this scene.

OMG! After listening to Hadley as Raoul in Phantom of the Opera, it's amazing to hear him get so low at the very beginning!

It's also interesting to me how Ramin and Hadley have both played the enemies of each other in two different shows and yet they're really good friends in real life.

I do not like Hadley Fraser's Javert. I'm beginning to think that Ramin can play any role though? I loved him as the Phantom and now I think he makes a great Javert too. Hope to be able to see it at some point!

Their voices blend so beautifully, and from 1:44 to the end is amazing, especially their dual "I will be there", considering they are both saying those words under very different contexts.

To be honest, whenever I hear Ramin's voice I can only think of him in is most important role to date - Gustav Daae in the movie. Boy, he was born for that role.

I agree. As much as I love Ramin, Alfie will always be the preferred Valjean in my opinion. There's something about Alfie that shows how powerful he is in every performance. But we can all agree that Hadley Fraser is absolutely amazing!! :)
