  • i guess youd have to be there but autocross always looks so damn confusing to me. id be afriad id forget where i was supposed to go

  • i would not want to play next to that light pole... :(

  • I love white RX-8

  • O.O Whoa, white RX8 looks simply amazing... Love it! ^^

  • nice driving!

  • he must be driving an automatic

  • Love it

  • nice

  • so much body roll..

  • Wow I would of got lost.. Id need more cones telling me where to go.. Horrible memory here..

  • Haha, its so easy how you can wind people up by making up stuff! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

you are all tubes who commented at me :L

  • Yeah the autocross in Houston is like 25 dollars to get in. Anybody can bring any car and you get to test the limits of your cars handling legally. of course i would much rather be on a track. but i dont have 400 dollars to get on one plus new tires plus all the other maintenance stuff you need

  • Wow... Well, autocross events are considerably cheaper than high performance driving days. Several hundred dollars, versus about $50-70 or so? Autocross events are a cheaper way to get to know your car and have fun putting it through it's spaces, and to test you as a driver, because a LOT of it is the driver.

Anywho, thank God for parade laps to get used to the course, haha.

  • Esto es una Joya mundial

  • @SomecoolName1 Haha, you race R\C cars in a parking lot and you're calling a real timed race "gay." You sound pretty awesome.

  • @zephyrwords If i was a rich bitch who could afford a real rx-8 I would not be autocrossing with it. FAGGOT.

  • @SomecoolName1 No offense, but RX-8's aren't that expensive. And used they're available below 15K here in Canada. Maintenance is another issue, but you don't have to be rich to buy one. Just financially responsible.

  • @SomecoolName1 RX8 isn't that expensive. its a mid-low end sportscar. I got mine used for less than a new civic, only 25000 KM (thats like 15k miles).

  • @zephyrwords i really wouldnt consider this racing lol... but alright buddy

  • @JDMmz309 what would you consider racing?

  • @SomecoolName1 hey it better then street racing

  • @SomecoolName1 It's rather thrilling. Have you done it? It's pretty damn cool for those of us who don't have the money to bump fenders and ruin a set of tires every weekend.

  • Hi i am a mazda mechanic

The mazda RX8 has most of its power at low revs and if you rev it up to the mark yes it sounds good put you wont be going any faster than you are at 4,000 revs!

So 'sr20tuner' this guy (zephyrwords) has done the right thing by keeping the revs low and being smooth. yes sideways looks better but i wont make you any faster!!

  • @rallychamp95

There's no way you're a Mazda Mechanic if you think the rx8 gets its power at lower revs... I own an rx8 and once you hit about 4,500-5,000 RPMS it actually starts building up. They're not like piston engines, in average driving conditions, you're supposed to shift at about 4,000 rpms instead of 3,000 with normal cars. Which is why it's good on a track because you don't have to downshift as much when you're going into a turn.

  • @iRx8 i agree, the higher the rpms the faster but i shift at 3000 rpms with the rx8 lol saves gas.

  • @packerdmohar1 for the love of your rotary, dont...

    Just drive over this number.

  • @rallychamp95 dude you should get fired if you really were a mazda mechanic haha

  • @rallychamp95 231hp @ 8200rpm and 211nm @ 5500rpm doesnt sound like low revs to me.. hopefully your boss reads this and fires you dumbass

  • @rallychamp95

    OMG you are retarded

  • @rallychamp95 i hope to god you're not a mazda mechanic... if so, mazda needs better training for RX8. Wankel rotary engines (the 13B and 13B MSP are no expections) have very low torque and generate no power down low. their advantage is that they rev very high so that after they hit peak torque (around 6000 RPM, FYI) you don't have to shift right away.

the powerband is quite wide, but its also quite high.

driving smooth is key, for sure, but you're totally off with your 4000RPM comment.

  • @rallychamp95 all the power is over about 4500 rpm where the secondary fuel ejectors kick in. you know nothing about rotary engines.

  • @310nev secondary fuel ejector? im pretty sure you know nothing about engines in general cause the word you were looking for was injector. idiot.

  • I hate small courses like this. Not a bad run for your first time.

It's all about SEAT TIME, SEAT TIME, SEAT TIME :)

If autocross is something you want would like to continue doing, then I would suggest to you to not modify your car too much at first. Focus on your driving skills first, maybe even invest in some driving schools or something.

Most importantly, just have fun with it!

  • Those rotary engines are amazing, ~200+ from a 1.3, and revs to 9k ( I THINK it's 9k, not sure), but still. Hell of an engine.

  • I see all the Subie's in line waiting for their turn. ;)

  • how old do you have to be to do this??

  • goddd. i want one soo bad. my boyfriend has one that looks like that. :[ i want one.

  • For a first run im impressed.

  • looks great in white

  • I autocross y 04 6mt rx8, and trust me our cars love to be pushed to the limit out there, rev it up the way and slam down on the brakes, it what our cars are made for.

  • nice driving for your first time! and that is a nice 8 i like tha 7s more tho

  • Nice car. I got one identical.

  • Dude! Good job! Very nice car and great driving! :)

  • imagine if its drifting everyone will cheer for the Rx8 xD

  • Hahaha, nice.

Keep your car within the stock rules.

RX-8's always line the B-stock at Nationals EVERY year.

No one actually knows how a car with 1 ft-lb of torque could be that much faster than a 350Z. lol

  • that RX-8 looks heavy. i think the solution is more stiff suspension will do it! and turn off the traction control and go for manual gear (triptronics)

    NIce skills there !

  • @thepreme123 it's not automatic, it's a manual. DSC was off as well. Thanks.

  • @zephyrwords hold down the dsc button longer it urns traction all the way off you only had about 25% traction off

  • Wow, those tires are inducing some serious understeer.

  • Looks like traction control cause understeer and in the wrong gear because no power to rear to swing it out a bit. Although the car had a lot of sway and no exhaust which means it's probably 100% stock.

Turn of traction and stay in 2nd and wind the damn car out like it's suppose to be driven and he would of been at least 3+ seconds faster if he could control it.

  • @sr20tuner yeah, that being my first run ever I thought it was pretty decent though.

  • @zephyrwords

Like the other guy said, it does look heavy. d more air into tires, rear sway bar, stiffer springs, and higher rpm 7k+ for the whole run will get it moving nicely keeping it in the sweet spot..

  • @zephyrwords I cannot believe the comment here from sr20tuner. Maybe his comment would be appropriate if you said: "look how sick my autocrossing is, I'm unbeatable and am a perfect driver because I'm a pro and have lots of experience."

But no he has to be a douche and come out and be openly critical of someone who is making their first run with no experience and a stock car, like you should have known better. YouTube is full of douche-bags.

I suppose I'm here though...hmmmmm. Nice run btw.

  • @mpalm887 haha, it's no big deal. I haven't been out in awhile, I need to get some new videos up.

I probably could have left the car in first and just red lined it to 9.5k banging it against the limiter but instead I shifted between first and second a few times. That course had a lot of slow parts with some straights you could get up to at least 35mph on so it was tricky gearing for the low tourq'ed 8.

  • holy confusing track

  • @fuskyboy - its not that bad lol better than the ones full of light poles anyone who does autoX knows what i'm talkin about

  • @fuskyboy Your forgot "batman"...

  • I like it ^^

  • its got some roll

  • looks confusing with just cones out there

  • nice!

  • confusing course for a novice. i could see you hesitating while figuring out where to go

  • wow that looks like a really confusing course. bet there where alot of dnf's that day.

  • nice job man, i would get incredibly lost through that course, i don't know how you remembered every turn

  • Very good driving skills!

  • Slick driving dude. You're not moving very quick on the straights but thats to be expected. You're flying through the turns!!

  • dmv drving test? lol

  • is this in maryland? lol i know that course..i went there like 3 times.

  • Frederick MD!!

  • i hate small courses but thats pretty awesome handling by car and driver

  • Not Bad, but that course seems very small and a lot of going back and forth. Looked kinds of confusing especially for a novice.

  • i was going to say it seemed like u were babying the turns, slamming on the brakes to hard then accelerating so fast while in a smaller turn but other than that you didn't drive to bad

  • Yup, those are pretty correct assessments. I learned a lot since then and can't wait for this upcoming season.

  • taking it pretty slow, lots of understeer it seems, TC on? Is that a M/T? Please tell me it is.

  • It was my first autox, no, yes.

  • how did you place?

  • I was 50th out of 65 cars. Ran a 50.79 and TOD was 43.07. My next event I ran a 45.57, placed 20th out of 63, TOD was 41.60.

    Thanks for watching!

  • What is the TOD?

  • time of the day

  • I see. You improved a lot! Exactly what do you change and learn with each autox run? What do you have to work hardest to improve?
