  • Maybe he just stopped there for a break! He didn't seem to be doing much of anything.

  • look at these stupid 'superhighways' it is a blue line painted in a bus lane for christs sake. and i live on the next estate you will come to in this vid. though the met police are just doing their little immorale and cowardly jobs like the politicians tell them to so it aint their fault, sold their souls long ago.

  • this is not a sting. A sting is encouraging someone to do something wrong/break the law, and then punishing them for it.

  • @eskimo810 No it's not, that's entrapment, which is illegal. A sting is where an undercover police officer will observe the target commiting a crime then call in help to arrest and subdue.

  • @Tammc09 sting; n. (Slang) A complicated confidence game planned and executed with great care, especially an operation organized and implemented by undercover agents to apprehend criminals.

  • @eskimo810 That's what I said. A police officer cannot legally encourage a person to commit a crime.

  • @Tammc09 The definition I provided for "sting" is quite similar to the meaning of "entrapment." You differentiated fundamentally between "sting" and "entrapment"; which is incorrect. I never said that a sting was legal, only that a simple speedtrap, as portrayed in the video, is not a sting.

  • @Tammc09 If you do not completely understand the meaning of the definition, consider "A complicated confidence game" describes an action where you gain an individual's trust. In the application to crime, it would be to pose as a fellow criminal and be active in whatever buisness requires your trust.. Simply observing a crime taking place from the perspective of a "criminal" does not constitute a sting.

  • @eskimo810 Yes it does, don't get angry because you were wrong.

  • @Tammc09 I'm certainly not angry; baffled, perhaps, by your contradictions, but in the face of stubbornness I will submit a moment of teaching to yourself. Maybe watch the movie "The Sting." If you end up understanding the plot, it's not too complex; you'll understand the meaning off the term. Best of luck!

  • @eskimo810 You're so angry it's hilarious. Try to talk down to me more, I think it's starting to work.

  • @Tammc09 I think we've reached the part in a conversation where you realize you're wrong, and you're just throwing insults at me for no apparent reason. It's kind of amazing how youtube comments work, right? All I said was this was not a sting, and you've created an argument out of nothing. For that I give you credit, but no applause.

  • @eskimo810 Saying you're angry is an insult? I'd hate to see you react to an actual insult. You were the one who went off topic when you started being a condescending twat without provocation. I just decided to fuck with you because I saw that no matter how much I reasoned and used logic it would all be for nothing, you're stubborn. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that you're wrong too, not a good combination.

  • I dont get it. Why is all this money being wasted on a minority interest. The poor motorist having to pay so much for petrol, road tax and insurance and these beggars on bikes get everything. I expect most are on benefits and in council houses. Disgraceful. We need a motorway supehighway elevated so I can drive straight into central London. The money should be spent on that. Not on blue paint jobs

  • @kentcyclist According to figures to figures published oct 2008, 34% working, 44% students, 10% retired and 24% not working, so infact most are not on benefits but are poorer students between the ages of 16 and 24. just search cycling demographics uk if you don' t believe me. also there are only 2 routes operational ATM so i doubt that "blue paint" is costing you too much.

  • @blzind

Relax fellow cyclist> I was just teasing. I spent 12 years going round europe and mid east on a bike

  • @kentcyclist Motorists have to pay for fuel and emmision (CO2) tax because they chose to use a vehicle with a combustion engine. There's no such thing as a "road tax" which only car drivers pay.

  • @masterknaster

what bullocks u speak. me and the missus have 5 cars between us, All of which are oad tax and Ive also had to pay 2nd load road tax for me son who has to drive to job centre to sign on and he just smahed lasr moror up> The shops are 5 whole minutes walk away. How can i get there in the coronation street break with my chips> you layabouts on bikes> getta life>

  • @kentcyclist its not road tax, its vehicle excise duty. dont be dumb, learn to read before typing crap. VED's are not spent on roads, they're spent somewhere else. Also the government classifies the bike as a vehicle and cyclists are obliged to stay on the road not the pavement.

  • @ddxjon It's basically road tax, can't use the road with out tax. Hence why a lot of people just call it road tax.

  • @RandyDarkshade2 no it isnt, VED is a tax on ownership of a vehicle, not the use of a vehicle. learn the difference

  • @ddxjon You clearly only read the first few words of what I said. Try reading the whole post I made before commenting back.

  • @RandyDarkshade2 no you dont get it do you? If it was road tax, you'd only pay one 'tax' regardless of how many vehicles you drive but clearly thats not the case is it? You pay VED per car/bike you own.

I dont understand how difficult is to understand that you pay VED per vehicle you drive, not the right to drive it on the road. Even if you buy a car and not drive it you still pay VED. so maybe read about it first before making senseless comments

  • @ddxjon Jesus christ some people are dense. LEt me put it simpler. It is commonly known as road tax, as in that is what most people call it, I'm not saying it is road tax I am saying that is what it is commonly called amongst ordinary people.

  • @RandyDarkshade2 maybe you should read your own comment "It's basically road tax, can't use the road with out tax."

  • @RandyDarkshade2 Vehicle Excise Tax is general taxation - so the tax you pay on your car(s) is far more likely to go to the NHS or defence than building and maintaining roads. VET is based on emissions, it has nothing to do with the amount of wear and tear it does to the road. Electric cars, for example, don't have to pay VET.

  • Unfortunately i'm not seeing many on my section of the super highway, they know the hot spots and patrol them.

  • Good, let's see cyclist and all other RLJers fined often, and long may it continue. To be fair though, I see far more motorists jumping red lights, and hopefully they get just as much attention since they are far more dangerous than cyclist RLJers.

  • @CyclingMikey From what i'm told via TFl and the Police, they are targeting all offenders, but i'm afraid most of the RLJ's i see are cyclists, the worst i see are by motorists.
