If Jim Rogers knew anything about M2, he would not have said that "Gold may reach $2000 in the next decade".

Increasing M2 is the same as devaluing the Dollar, si if M2 ncreases by 15% in the next 3 months, then the Gold price equivalence is already around $2000.

When the Fed really start printing to bail out the World - coming soon - the Gold price will be orders of magnitude higher very quickly due to debasement of the Dollar.

Jim Rogers is buying Gold and wants it as cheap as possible.

The reason that we did this segment is to show to our audience that there are various ways of measuring or defining money. That's why we have various monetary aggregates like m1, m2, m3, etc. We also have "base money" which is a much more accurate way of measuring what the federal reserve is doing to to affect the value of the dollar. m2 is affected much more by bank lending and activity

Yes I would concede on M2. to a point. For money supply alone M1/M0 might be more appropriate, but neverthless, M2 is the the main indicator of broad monetary inflation which is one driver of Gold price. I have researched every aspect of Gold for 35 years.

The ongoing global financial contagion will result in much more money printing with Gold price responding accordingly.
