well Jesus does give the keys to Peter, so I am not sure about what you are saying here. As far as Jesus having the keys, of course He does. But the whole point is that Peter serves Jesus through teh keys. Peter is not God of course! But Peter is chosen by God to fulfill a ministry for Him.

Rather, He merely delegates it to Peter, His servant. This is exactly the situation in Isaiah 22, where Eliachim holds the key for King Hezekiah. Yet, Hezekiah still ultimately holds the key.

For example, if I hold the title of ownership to my car, yet allow you to drive it as my chauffeur, it's still my car. I still possess it. You are just driving it for me.

GOD, who is Himself a "Father Figure", has always provided a human "Father Figure", a "Chief Shepherd", a visible leader on earth to act as a liaison between Himself and His people. In the OT, His Chief Shepherds were Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David, to name a few.

actually answer this: how does a Protestant authenticate what he is reading is of the one faith of Christ, is holy, is UNIVERSAL, is authenticated through the successors of the Apostles? where did Scripture come from, did it fall from the sky? Who received it, kept it, and taught it until the first Protestant was born in 1520?
