  • He sounded pretty calm

  • He actually says he's going to eject right when the system alerts him that the tail is not functional.

A minute later he asks the operator if there's anything below him, so that the plane doesn't endanger anything, seeing as ejecting isn't urgent.

Then he talks about ejecting a couple more times. He only decided to try and land when he managed to stabilize the plane.

  • Ace

  • 4:16 пилот говорит "вот нихуя себе, вмастился все таки а"

  • crikey he got the aircraft under his control - excellent - very impressed komrad!! Sperb video!!

  • ja uzebi abosralsia......

  • Incredible flying skill. Very impressive.

  • not true!!!! it is not an MIG HUD!!!!

    it for an F-16 HUD

    it a big LIE ;)

  • @darksef7 idiot ? or stupid ?

  • @Roofius2 are you the pilot who land? stop your shit cuz it is NOT an MIG HUD. watch some videos to know what is an MIG HUD ;) the stupid in the story is you.

  • @darksef7 you're an idiot

it is not MIG-29 or some other military one

it is MIG-AT(training plane) and it can have Russian-made HUD or HUD made by Thales Avionics specially for it

  • Well done

  • Это видео с испытаний МиГ-АТ. Авионика французкая, если мне не изменяет память. Потому ИЛС натовский. Пилот молодец, посадил с разрушенным хвостовым оперением - это просто офигеть как круто.

  • This is the video from Test run of MiG-AT. Avionics is not Russian made, as MiG-AT were made mainly for export and first series were equiped with french made avionics (not sure about french, heard about it somewhere, but this is not russian avionics either).

  • sheer incredible...any NATO pilot would have simply ejected to save his ass. Russians are different they are COMPETENT!

  • @TheFishbed no they aren't competent they would have had to pay for the plane if the ejected so it was in his best interest to save it.

  • @panik808 even if that were the case, he would have to be competent to land such a broken aircraft.

  • @TheFishbed

Uhm... NATO pilots don't get sent to siberia for losing a plane. ;) j/k

  • @TheFishbed no they would try to land first EJECTION is a last resort in both nato and russia.

  • @Jimbob8971 It's not about NATO or Russia, it's about test flight. Test pilots only bail if they don't have a reasonable chance to land the aircraft, there's no politics involved.

  • @FantasticBob7000 is that comment for me or the person that i original responded to because i was the one who said that ejection is a last resort for any pilot.

  • @Jimbob8971 You're right, I didn't notice the original comment. TheFishbed must have been a Russian living in Canada or something. I should have checked first, sorry.

  • Va säger dom LOL

  • @hummlan1 Forstår INGENTING jeg

  • @hummlan1

Hahaha... Brudens röst i början säger att det är stark G-kraft för piloten eller att höjden är låg. (kanske både och)

  • That can't be HUD of a russian aircraft, the units for speed and altitude are in imperial units, not metric.

  • @EdinKulelija hm.. maybe it's russian aircraft from one of the eastern countries accepted into NATO and have been upgraded to NATO standards for navigation instruments etc

  • does he call out DEPARTED in English when the vid starts??

  • @usselliot76

no, he doesn't say DEPARTED he says пятнадцать (pyatnadtsatʹ) which is Russian for the number "15"

  • looked like the airplane came for a non powered landing....

    Isnt?

  • Translation' PILOT: I am coming down hard....I think I've lost part of my wing....I must Eject!!! CONTROL TOWER: That is a negative on Ejecting...repeat...do NOT Eject, just try to bring her in safely. PILOT: I've got no choice...engaging Eject, now....Hey.....Wait a minute, There IS NO button! EJECT is just painted on! CONTROL: Er, yes....comrade, so sorry U find out like this. Um...Russian Prime Minister...He thinks Ejection Seats cause pilots to give up on landing expensive plane too easy.

  • @frankensteinmoneymac is that true?

  • @jimmyjames133 Eh....sure, why not...Its probably real, even though I made it up.

  • @frankensteinmoneymac LOL you never know

  • @jimmyjames133 Quite true.....truth is often stranger than fiction

  • Whats with the "K" logo at the bottom left hand side of the screen? I feel like this Im watching "The Russian Millitary....Now Sponsored By Kmart"!!!

  • @frankensteinmoneymac its logo of tv chan "culture". a bit like your Discovery.

the channel broadcasts many topics: history, classical music, fine arts, science. all without advertising. Financed by the Government

  • @ff5x2 oh, ok...thanks for that.....I guess its their version of PBS then?

  • it seems stalling...

  • Спасибо за видео! А буржуи завидуют нашим пилотам )

  • I didn't know they had descent rate brackets/pipper on russian HUD's

  • watch that. Thats the colored version with english subs: watch?v=nqVG28z5Lcs

  • Я и не удивился , Русские лётчики - лучшие в мире.

  • great work!

  • this is an exercise!..stop comment that how smart and big nice balls has this pilot!..u do not know to read in description?: russian movie studio "Wings of Russia"..nobody can fly (landing = shit) without controls especial a modern jet fighter..fly-by-wired...!IMPOSSIBLE!..ask any flight engineer..

  • @GRATZIANI2002 yes we can fly a modern jet without Fly-By-Wire, just don't make sharp maneuver. MIG-29 originally don't have fly-by-wire anyway.

  • @phadil agree with mig 29..but this is not a mig 29..also read vid's description: SIMULATOR FLIGHT!..morons

  • @GRATZIANI2002 That wasnt simulator flight. That was a real one. With MiG-AT jet trainer plane. The pilot was Roman Taskaev.

  • @GRATZIANI2002 come on, he is talking about possible ejection. Ground officer is giving him orders how to recover jet. How can it be simulation cant you just LISTEN to what they are saying

  • @kosiak10851 the plane was damaged and somebody was landscaping the pilot's face..lol...see 0:25 in example..OK..in russia even white it's red like stalin's wish!...so is not simulation, is true!..like human dream to communism..lmao..thanks God is not Gorbachev flying..

  • @phadil Bullshit. Depends completely on the flightenvelope, type of injury and type of plane.

  • im pretty sure that i wouldve ditched it as close the base as i could but he has some huge balls to save the plane

  • WOW THAT PILOT HAS MASSIVE BALLS. TOTAL RESPECT COMRADE

  • chuffed he got away with that

  • its seems to be an exercises

  • pilot have mega iron nerves///

  • I was doing the BUT crawl when he was trying to land, trying to help him land...ha ha

  • when he landed, Land navigator told him "

"Damn you made it man!!!! holly hell!!

    -You've got tail surfaces broken!!

    -what?

    -you've got tail surfaces broken!!"

  • нет слов

  • Your mom is fake bs1ayer. They don't have ejection seats in russian planes, it motivates the pilots to save the planes and not to bail out due to insignificant things like engine failure for example.

  • @Shinkajo It is a known fact that Estonians are slow, but I never knew it was to extent you could the miss the moment when Russians started installing ejection seats into the planes.

  • @IamMakarov Estonians may be slow but Russians are apparently slower since you obviously missed my attempt at humor there

  • @Shinkajo Touché

  • @Shinkajo -.- every aircraft have ejection seats....dont talk stupid things....officer need to check every part of plane before take off...you NEED to have ejection seat working...

  • @nedeljko031 Obviously you idiots have never heard of SARCASM, god damn morons....

  • @Shinkajo

"They don't have ejection seats in russian planes, it motivates the pilots to save the planes and not to bail out due to insignificant things like engine failure for example."

LOL, I don't know how many pilots would agree with your idea that an engine failure is an "insignificant thing". Engines are usually considered pretty important. And I'm pretty sure that most Russian planes DO have ejection seats...a pilot is an expensive asset, and many times you CAN'T save the plane.

  • @justforever96 EVERY PLANE HAS EJECTION SEAT..NOT SOME ALL!!!!!

  • @nedeljko031 Not quite true...maybe all fighters have ejection seats, but as far as I know, neither American or Russian commercial jets have ejection seats (or their military derivatives, i.e E-3 Sentry, P-3 Orion), or transport planes such as the C-130 or Antonov An-225 (or whatever it's called...the big-ass planes). None of those have ejection seats that I've ever heard of...there's like 40-something crew on an E-3. And then there's the Cessna's, etc. So, no, NOT "ALL" planes have them. =)

  • @justforever96 hahahh i am talking about ALL FIGHTER PLANES :)... AWACS based and tranpsort or commercial planes dont have ejection seats it normal...but ALL FIGHTER PLANES HAVE EJECTION SEATS :).

  • @nedeljko031 Yeah, I figured that was what you meant. It's hard to "bail out" at 600kts! I did always think it was a bit of a "raw deal" for the poor transport pilots, not to get ejection seats. Although, if the plane is carrying passengers, it might be kind of shitty to have your pilot eject when an engine flames out, instead of trying to save it! I can see it now..."Oh, look honey...the engine is on fire! Do you think that's BAD?" "Hmm...it can't be GOOD: there goes the pilot!" XP

  • @justforever96 LOL that would be real "reality show" expirience :). That would be also hard to make coz its easy to move canope of fighter...but you would need to blow up half of plane to launch pilot and copilot with seats lol xD

  • @nedeljko031 LOL, not really...they've put ejection seats in big planes before. The B-52 has them; there are little hatches that blow off the roof to let the seats out. Except the 2 crew "downstairs"; THEY eject down through the floor. (Hopefully not TOO close to the ground! Ouch...) In the older B-52's with a tail gunner, the whole tail of the plane came off so he could bail out...so don't push the wrong button! =O The hard part is fitting seats for all the passengers...those seats are heavy!

  • @justforever96 Well B52 is something different its bomber you dont have other ppl in beside pilot, copilot, navigator and weapon man. And you simple destroy roof and launch....but imagine Airbus 380 or Boing 747.... O.o Blow up roof that is 20 square m :D

  • @justforever96 Obviously you idiots have never heard of SARCASM, god damn morons....

  • @Shinkajo Its good that you did.... -.- Now my life is perfect

  • @Shinkajo Oh, I've heard of sarcasm. Only it sometimes comes out wrong unless practiced by a skilled artist. And then it just sounds serious. I've heard people say worse. But it's good to know that you're not as dumb as you sound! ;)

LOL, that is pretty funny though..."insignificant things like engine failure"! XD

  • @Shinkajo Thats sort of fucked up in a way not allowing a pilot to eject.

  • молодец!

  • is this fake ?

  • So is this a MiG-AT as in the little Russian trainer? I thought it was some advanced fighter or something at the beginning. Why's a test pilot flying it? Unless of course, the obvious. =P It must be a prototype or something, otherwise I'd just eject. I guess that would wound a test pilots pride, to eject from a trainer! LOL I really wish I knew what they were saying, and it'd be more interesting.

  • @justforever96 Sorry...just asking...why is blame to eject from Trainer? That trainer has max speed over 1,2Mah and fantastic manuvers. Its not even LITTLE!!! ITS almost 10 ton heavy.... Yeah it is prototype....only thing you said right... -.-

  • @nedeljko031 I wasn't really being serious...I guess the joke gets "lost in translation". I was just thinking about how test pilots have a reputation for being the cool guy who flies the coolest, newest super-fighters...to eject from a trainer seems like Michael Schumacher crashing his Toyota on the way to practice! LOL, I do know that it's really a dangerous job and all planes must be tested. But I would call the MiG-AT "small"...compared to an Su-27 it's tiny! But it's a very cool plane. =)

  • That's how MIG flies without a tail. COOL?

  • What is Russian for "Shut that fucking noise up for fuck sake!"

  • And you would like 3D, sound Dolby Digital Surround, wouldn't you?

  • @IK1963

what noise? the communication between the pilot and ground control? in australia the pilots talk to themselves or something?

  • I think he means the damn beeping noise that goes on non-stop. I can't figure out if it's a radio direction finder, or what. I notice it started beeping like crazy when he passed a certain heading @ 1:20. Maybe it's so he can keep oriented if the plane starts to spin or something. I wonder if the stabilizer failed before the clip begins, or if happens at :45.

  • Герой!

  • This is 2 planes HUD displays obviously - comms are real and film is real - it is just artistic licence for the director to 'blend' them together in the editing suite for a film . . . nice to see anyway . .

  • @wideangle852

Ты видел многофункциональный индикатор Миг-29? Или ты видел только HUD в играх?

  • hud looks so american

  • @nakazatoGTR all jet fighters have the same (round abouts) layout between countries

  • i meant the water mark isnt there, which tells the pilot the roll attitude instead of the pitch ladder.

  • If i was the pilot with all that fucking beeping going on id just friken eject. jesus.

  • GPWS in russian language. - funny

  • Russian translation: OH SHIT!!!!

  • Scary to see 80 knots at 8000ft.

  • These HUD readouts are most probably in metric system, so 80 km/h, or about 45 kts IAS, at 8000m / 26000ft.

Extreme AoA stall at low thrust?

  • Comment removed

  • у тя грит хвостовое оперение разрушено...!!!

    отпад....:)

  • i would've vomited all over the cockpit

  • And shat my pants. LOL

  • beqarezo,

    fuck you, leave Russia alone

  • Wow, youtube wars again.... Idiots.

  • U podyezda ostav mashinu, pozvoni na 1:30!! Ili mne ta slishitsa?

  • Я рацией ловил телефонные разговоры. Поэтому ничего удивительного нету. )

  • нет не слышится

  • Is the female voice the ground controller or an aircraft system?

  • Icarusdecending82, aircraft system.

  • Aircraft system. And why female? because males will pay more attention to a female voice than to a males.

  • I would have to disagree on that one

  • Thats why it's called "bitching betty", but you may be right, in this day and age 2 out of 10 men will pay more attention to other men's voices, the rest of us go for female voices haha!

  • The female voice is an aircraft system. It sad somthing like " failure of SDU..... stop mission ..... reservе is 150 kg... (?)"

  • The plane sat down with the destroyed tail plumage and the damaged forward chassis.

  • Nice job!

  • Somethings wrong with his tail feathers, he was yawing like crazy on landing. Nice job if he was damaged!!!!!!

  • here's the version with english subtitles:

    watch?v=nqVG28z5Lcs

  • Thanks !

  • what type of MIG? I guess Russian Pilots are more prone to try & "Ride it in" that Bail out huh?

  • MiG-AT, just like the title :)

  • Is that a MiG?? Thad HUD layout looks a lot like the Mirage 2000's...

  • Some MiG`s are using french-maded HUD

  • Yeah its definitely a russian aircraft. Though you are right, it does have alot of similarities with the Mirage 2000 HUD, well spotted.

  • Yes, it is a MiG-AT. It's intended for export, so the equipment (incl. HUD) is whatever the customer wants.

  • Oh! neat! I didn't know that!

  • I was wondering when Russians had switched to the pitch ladders & flight path marker -layout

  • It is the good plane, nevertheless, have chosen Yak-130 for armies.

  • last words from control tower (after landing) " your tail "feathers" are destroyed"...... he wanted to bail out few times but decided to try to land anyway. Tower control suggested ground landing (not strip) with out chassis....

  • 3.23 "Ya poprobuju na beton" (i'll try to land on the strip)

  • tail break

  • Western pilots would have bailed out on that one

  • Prove it.

  • If you are with the USAAF, USN or RAF you will know your orders in such a case. If not, stay put and don't comment this way.

  • Ah, ok. So since you know so much, then what are USAF (not USAAF) standard procedures in such a situation?

  • Amazing! To land the plane with failed FCS... man, he is a Pilot.

Shame they didn't show the actual damage of stabilizer.

  • whats a FCS, please.

  • "flight control system"... the closest translation of russian wording from the clip.

  • the closest translation is FBW (fly-by-wire) system

  • prototyp test accident mig at 1st prototyp

  • i love mig

  • damn great pilot respect

  • @21StCenturyWarfare right upon landing he says something close to "I'll be screwed! I've done it !!" . And you can really hear his emotions right there.

  • Man, I would love to know what they were saying but the fact this guy has balls of steel comes across loud and clear.

  • Amazing

  • It can not be Mirage because the test pilot is Russian. Do you know Russians test pilots, testing Mirages?

  • is it a mig? cos the HUD looks like the mirage 2000

  • this is 2 sits mig at treining model for pilots treining but most fun the vois in redio (some body for sombody?not for pilot! will stey you care near of a stag;))))))

  • pilote used olmost only angins power he stey a herro of rus fed(as my mamory )

  • holy crap. no stabilisers? awesome landing. his adrenaline must have been pumping.

  • It`s MiG-AT

  • was this a Mig 31 or a Mig 29....

In the end there appears to be a mig 29 or Su 27 sitting on the tarmac so i think its the Mig 29...

    does anyone know for sure

  • That was mig 29 with destroyed empennage group.

That was destroyed from moment when computer (Nina) said "otkaz eS De O"

  • The MiG-AT (Micoyan-Gurevich - Advanced Training) - small training airplane.

  • Awesome Pilot !! See how they risk life and limb..THE TEST PILOT ! very brave and usually the highest skilled, and this is a great example of it.. Excellent !

The ground comm was totally hilarious but only cause he made it, I bet he had some words about them ...lol

  • Didn`t bounce off, so its all good!!!

  • molodec!! xoroshii lyotchik, good pilot, bravo

  • anyway... a Good pilot

    *thumbs_up*

  • 1997 year

    pilot- Roman Taskaev

  • He did good job. He used drag correctly. But he closed field too high, and he might got hard land on stalled plane.

  • (P)Holly fucking shit.. I spread it on after all...

(D5)The entire tail unit is wrecked..

    (P)say again

    (D1)The tail unit is destroyed

    (D2)what's your status?

(P)i think im gonna jump.. but burn the rest of the fuel first.. maybe will work something out.. if not then jump.

    (D2)affirmative

  • (P)should i move the plane? Is there anyone (talking about civilians) under me?

    (D2)negative, it's all clear

    (P)well.. i can't move the plane anyway..

(D3)search and rescue team ready for take off

(D2)roger that, wait for further instructions

(P)ask ????? maybe he'll give me some advice...

    (D1)negative

(P)trying to gain some attitude cause if i hit those clouds ????????

  • (D1)??????????

(P)the fuel is.. bitch.. it's almost gone, have to eject really soon..

    (P)voltage is good.. for nothing..

    (D1)roger

    (the plane stabilizes)

  • (P)okey that's the last try.. in a straight line.. if not im jumping. Entering the clouds, trying to stay in a straight line..

    (D1)roger that

    (P)i got visual

(D1)roger that, if landing on a soft surface use front landing gear only

(P)affirmative, landing gear down, will try to make it to the concrete

(D1)okey.. all clear.. have permission to land

    (D4)2 on course

(P)the engines are stalled.. ok.. took the aim..

(C)SDU reserve depleted, abort your mission

(random comunications: "say what?" "leave the car near the main entrance!" "..okey")

  • wth..

  • Now I know why this HUD is so familiar to me. Avionics on new migs are made in part by Thales a french firm which makes avionics for the Mirage and rafale. =>This mig has a French HUD compare with: Mirage HUD footage solo

  • nope. ILS (HUD) are fully Russian made, look old Migs or Suhoi footages. Su-25 for example.
