  • I practice Chen tai chi and am able to do fajin, I'm not a master but I have a BS in physics and mathematics , by relaxing the joints but not disconecting the body becomes a spiral spring which energy is stored and released, by properly aligning the body they derive from the floor, however I had master George Xu demonstrate empty force on me in which I cannot come up with an answer at this time, you have to see and feel it to believe it

  • The Taiji style that Master Chen studies under Grandmaster Feng is called HunYuanHsingYi Chen Style Taijiquan. Grandmaster Feng was a student of both Chen FaKe, and Hsing Yi grandmaster Hu Yaozhen. They wer friends, and it was Hu that sent Feng as a young man to study with Chen FaKe.

These systems influenced each other, The combination exists in grandmaster Fengs practice. Master Chen's Baji performed in this VDO is not the Baji he learned. It is Baiji changed by over 30 years of Taijiquan

  • this is a sweet video

  • What's going on with this research? any paper published on this?

  • Very interesting! :-D

  • too bad that they can't have Master Wu in their experience.

  • Great! Master Chen is also a really nice guy!

Thanks for sharing this video, and for spreading the word about Taiji quan.

    :o)

  • @ChenStyleJohn

Mister Chen is one of the best of his generation in my opinion

  • why does his movements look more like Hsing I more than Tai Chi

  • @pumpSHO

Altho Mister Chen is a Taiji master. In the video he is using the Bajiquan form of issuing power...style he was studying before becoming a taiji student...

so maybe thats why it looked more like Xingyi to your eyes.

  • oh its a Baji form, that makes sence, his movements are too hard to be taiji, but you can see the taiji influence since its not as hard as baji, so thats why i guessed HsingI

try get a softer practitioner of taiji, better yet...bagua!

  • hell yeah!

  • awesome!!!!
