I gave this video a thumbs up. Check out my new review site. We just put a review out there on our channel that can make your Youtube marketing go viral. Get more views, friends, and subs.
Were almost at the end! The CG Whiz competition ends at midnight tonight, so if youre going to enter act now. We wont count any entries posted after 00:00 31st October.
To enter, all you need to do is post your portfolio as a response to our video. As a reminder, the winner of CG Whiz will get a place on one of Escapes 3D training courses, plus work placement at visual effects company The Mill, plus theres online courses, behind-the-scenes tours and subscriptions for runners up.
yup. this is awesome, how are they going to check for authenticity of reels? like if someone has experience or doesnt? i've already seen a few reels that have been made by people with industry experience posted here...
Just an idea. For those of us who don't win... it would be great if there was some way to get critique or feedback on our work from professionals in the field. Things to work on, areas of improvement, etc...
If there are a lot of entries then this would only work with perhaps the top 50 or so.
Thanks for your suggestion. We are going to be considering it over the coming days and will be confirming soon if we can do this and to how many people we will provide feedback.
Hi, i am in awe of everyone that has posted a video. I am also frustrated as its what i would love to do but just don't have the skill or money to do the course. I am saving and hope to do it at some point. Well done to you all, anyone who has tried 3D knows how much effort and love you have all put into your work. thank you.
hey i want to thank all of you at escape studios and The Mill who have organized this facinating competition....it has really given a big hand for people like us who are in countries like SRI LANKA and who loves animations.this has also given me the oppertunity to look at different types of projects.and its great to see that the competition is hotting up.and i wish all the contestents good luck for their progress in the competition. This competition is brilliant, I have uploaded my entry and have been getting some really encouraging feedback. I think that even if I'm not one of the lucky ones, the competition has allowed me to view other work by artists that otherwise I would never of had the chance to see.
Good luck to everybody, some of these entries put me to shame...;)
I am not sure if I am eligible to enter the competition. I graduated Kingston University last year. While I studied at I was freelancing part time at 3D company and freelancing form home. After my university course finished I went full time and I still work full time on architectual visualisations. I am 90% self tought working mostly with 3ds max therefore your competition, Maya course and most importantly Mill placement is soooo interesting to me. Am I eligible to enter the competition??
The competition is not open to anyone who has done professional work or is a freelancer. Otherwise it would not be fair to students, graduates and hobbyists.
But don't despair, we will be running our famous Escape Awards later in 2010 and will be rewarding professionals and freelancers then. Keep an eye out for them as we will announce the date around Christmas.

Hi there,
So long as you've not worked in the 3D industry before, then you are absolutely fine to enter the competition.
Look forward to seeing your entry, good luck!

Thank you.
