Dr. Doom has conquered whole planets, including earth. He defeated (through genius, force of will and a little luck) over-confident cosmic deities. And in 'Secret Wars' he made Ultron his robotic bodyguard/slave. Dr. Doom is also listed by almost every writer ever to work at Marvel as one of the most dangerous villains ever. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby have said as much in interviews, and since they co-created him, their opinions matter more than that of any raving comic book fanboy.

Kinda dumb honestly , In the Comics Thor has went to Doom's strong hold by himself ..took out all the doombots and kicked Dr Dooms ass. Without a power up from an outside source ...Doom poses no real threat to the Avengers. Now if Doom gets access to some magical artifact or has some powerful villians that help him thats different because he is a genius and is dangerous but , just on his own with his own resources he can't take on the Avengers ...he can't even take on Thor.

And Thor got beat by ultron, who is no where near as powerful as Doom. Ive found that characters power levels fluctuate depending on who the comic/story is based on, how many ppl are fighting with them, and how many are against them. Doom will totally be able to fight the avengers by himself

I'm not sure. Wolverine appeared as Logan in a Captain America micro-sode. The X-Men are hinted at in the Masters of Evil episode, in the "Exclesior" newspaper. And Spider-Man makes a cameo as Peter Parker in The Avengers: EMH comic book. I don't know if he'll appear in the show however.
