  • Its not that the USA has more blue on blue incidents than anybody else, its the fact that they always let banjo playing inbred pig fucking pilots off any charge! Yeeha Bubba!

  • Comment removed

  • Keep in mind these were National Guard units. RAF units are darn good but the USAF units that initially began the AFGH conflict were the creme of the crop. This is unfortunate and the A10s were flying high because they had just finished a strafing run.....in which they climb to a safer altitude to avoid AAA.

  • And after that incident, USA jest became a british target of opportunity, (unofficially of course) friendly fire my fking ass.

  • USAF at its finest... RAF walks all over there ass for skill.

  • @SubZero1703 Why are you hating so much? It was an accident you fool

  • @GamingMusicVideos1 You need to fkin ask?

  • @SubZero1703 How about you leave it to the people who know what they are talking about...it wasnt the pilots fault you idiot it was the fault of the JTAC. But I doubt you even know what that is! Ha.

  • Orange rockets? Yeah orange rockets. (this guys shitting with me.) Alright let me look. Awwwww shit. um...there were orange rockets. Fuck thats gotta suck.

  • The A-10 was designed as a low level nap of the Earth attack aircraft, so it's always interested me that the USAF rarely uses it as such. Even in this vid you can tell that the A-10 is being flown way too high. Our Tornadoes are designed for a similar roll and we always use it to its specifications. Why is the USAF hesitant to use their A-10s in low level rolls? I'd say it's down to bad training. If the A-10s in the vid had been flying at the right height they would've seen they were British.

  • I'm British and frankly all of the people having a go at the Americans need to grow up. It was a fucking accident! Sad to say, but shit happens. Not long after this happened our ground troops killed a couple of Danish soldiers with friendly fire. As I said, shit happens and these guys have to live with this on their backs for the rest of their lives. Recriminations lead nowhere!

  • @PBSmithy Trouble is the Americans keep having "accidents". Once can be seen as an accident, twice can be seen as carelessness, any more than that is just incompetence. Even as far back as WWII Americans have been infamous for having "accidents", so much so that they had a saying back then which went something like this, "When the Germans fired the British ducked, when the British fired the Germans ducked, but when the Americans fired EVERYONE ducked!"

  • @Bubo25

Wikiepedia has a list of notable "friendly fire" incidents from many wars - including Iraq and Afghanistan. British troops are VERY widely represented. I repeat.....recriminatrions lead nowhere. Unless, of course, you have some ulterior motive for attacking American troops!

  • USAF = apes with guns :(

  • No freindly fire in WW2 ?? Dont be ridiculous, the phrase 'the fog of war' was coined from that era. Freindly fire is part of warfare and always has been. If you watch the full length versions of this footage you'll see that the pilots repeatedly ask if if there are any freindly forces in the area and are told multiple times that there are'nt and given the all clear to attack.

  • do not listen to that bbc reporter saying "an air national guardsmen with no previous experience" he doesn't no what he is talking about and the media love to stir up a hornets nest. He would not have any knowledge of classified training as the us pilots do not discuss their training or experience so he would not be in any position to even know about it. he's clearly talking out of his ass. These reporters are just looking for ways to spice up incidents that have happened

  • My thoughts and feelings go out to the British guy, his family and the pilots. BBC didn't show the part LIGHTNING34 or MANILA HOTEL said that there was no friendlies in the area. They were just following orders.

  • This is why we should,nt be allied with America.

  • this is normal in war...people who have been there or in any war know this.....friendly fire is unfortunately is not rare....

  • you cant look at the body because its full of radiation thanks to the a10s Depleted Uranium rounds... FTW!!!

  • You guys act as if friendly fire never happens. it sucks but it does. you cant dwell on it forever, as if you want punishment for it. its just how war is. and those of us who havnt been to war dnt even understand the entirety of that.

  • As a former USAF member, I'd like to apologize about this as we need all the help we can get these days and friendly fire incidents need not exist with modern technology on the battlefield.

  • First he laugh ....then he cries .

  • "A-10 vs Brits" u sick fuck

  • the title is sick for fuck sake take this video off now and re-name the title if you have any respect whatsoever.

  • It somehow sickens me that the humans are happy killing an enemy and are unhappy with killing an friendly. Both of them they don´t know, but because some rich murderer is saying they have to go killing and this are evil people, they are happy doing it. It´s sick!

It´s time we come together! Not with beeing dumbed down zombies, smiling no matter what, like the nwo idea propouses, but we want to and understand!

  • do i hear laughing at 2:20?

  • who the fuck is this guy talking at the start of the video ?? where the fuck is your respect u fucking fuck up !!! i wonna see the body of your mother after shes been raped by big black bubba u cunt ! dis respectful mother fucker !

  • "when we see the body of the man blasted apart" well we dont show that shit on TV we arent fucked up, its called respect for the dead unlike your fucking yank jouralists

  • What ever happend to accuracy. They need more experienced pilots

  • fucking yanks got away with murder

  • Cowboys on wings.

  • and this isnt the first time the US have opened fire on british troops. it seems they have a shoot first and worry about it later. " it sucks" fucking too right it does, and then the US goverment trys to cover it up.

  • as a former member of the forces ex staff and royal eng, i do feel that this does happen and the price he is paying ,he done wrong he now knows this it does happe n but my god he really did screw up the pilot and he must feel saddnees

  • keep in mind people

that PILOT is a victim to!

  • Wow this sucks, I cant believe they let him fire without making sure they werent friendlys!! this pisses me off... That pilot was pissed!

  • im british and i think our goverment shud stop licking us arse man and im goin to the army careers office on thusrday to join the light dragoons cant wait

  • I got to 2:32. I cant fucking believe this for anything. What the fuck is the technology of the US come to. If I was a fighter pilot, or anyone, wouldnt you get close enough for confromation of the enemy?? They mistake British Forces, almost Identical to USA?? Wow, I feel sick. God Bless this man, and all of friendly fire victims... Coming from a US Marine who has been there.

  • There was a German saying in WWII....'When the British bomb the Germans hide, when the Germans bomb the British hide...When America bombs everyone hides'

...This is always happening. It just goes to show all the money in the world doesn't mean a thing if you lack experience, and are led by cowboys...

  • @rogan71 If you listen the pilots were not experienced yet... and who ever gave them confermation to fire played a part in it... Hopefully are military will learn from this..

  • To ALL go to wikileaks(DOT)org and watch how the US treat civilians including journalists. It made me so angry I had tears in my eyes. The pilot was NOT in any danger and neither was anybody else, make your own mind up after you watch the video.

  • @piacono This was horrible and im not going to try to argue that fact, but it doesnt matter if the pilot was in danger. thats not why he fired. He fired because he thought they were enemies. Do taliban foot soldiers pose a threat to a-10's? no. but none the less we kill them because they are the enemy.

  • @mahalcat Hi mate sorry it has been ages since I wrote this comment that u replied to. If you want to see why the US have so many probs with shooting the wrong people go to wikileaks(DOT)org they show Apache chopper pilots/gunners laughing as they shoot unarmed people. They try saying that the civilians are carrying weapons when most of them are not. The people they shot were journalists for Reuters and that is the ONLY reason we have seen/heard about it.

  • @mahalcat What upsets me is ALL friendly nations have a Friend or Foe electronic systems. They are supposed to allow aircraft to pick out friendly forces from enemy forces on the battlefields. But apart from these systems you can hear on the radio that the UK vehicle had orange markings to denote it was a UK Army vehicle. The US airmen thought the orange markings were from missiles, well instead of firing first, fly lower and check, or would that risk THEIR life/aircraft TOO Much?

  • "we are in jail, dude"... you should be in fucking school, morons, not fighting in country you prooly cant even show on map.

jesus, ppl are realy stupid (to go to war)

  • they didn't misinterpret anything. the people at the base messed up, big time. you can hear them ask about the orange markings over and over.

  • Typical Gung Ho Yanks, more concened about getting a kill, than making sure its NOT their allies.

I would have shot them down with a stinger. they did the same in WW2 they killed loads of Brits etc, thats why on the D-Day landings we had to make sure that no USA air support was there as they would have killed too many Brit soldiers.

  • @piacono So you are angry about them killing a Brit but you are saying you would do the same to the other side of the coin. With that attitude I'd bet you'd make the same mistake. I'm sure the pilot has enough guilt, thats punishment enough.

  • Yes my anger at watching my friends die would have clouded my judgement. If I had a stinger, I would have used it there and then. Friendly fire or NOT!

  • @elite128 punishment enough? the pilot was promoted soon after this incident, thats real punishment!.....

he should have been court marshalled. both the pilots and the forward air controller...."i think they have orange rocket launchers on the back of their tanks!!" most retarded thing ive ever heard.....

  • @abhiginimav I stand by my argument. Do you really think these men will be the same way? knowing they widowed a British woman and others is pretty fucking awful enough.

  • @elite128 someone raised a good point. they were more concerned about going to jail or getting c/marshalled than who they just killed when they said "o shit were going to jail" i dont think they were as concerned about the others before their own asses

  • @abhiginimav I could make the same argument when the guy said "I feel like I'm going to be sick." Nice try though. Its really indiscernible what their true thoughts were, lets just leave it at that.

  • @elite128

LOL yeah you have you family killed and see if you have the same opinion. They should of been punished end of story.

  • @chrisdef15 It would be kind of hard because I'm the only one of my family members who is in the military....but I know my family would be forgiving.

Nothing is worse than a bitter unremorseful heart. Maybe you should take

    that to heart.

  • @elite128

The point is the same whether they are or arent.

And you must live in a dream world, every country in the world has prisons for exactly that reason, if someone does something bad they are punished, you dont just let them go and forget about it.

  • @chrisdef15 friendly fire is not punnished in here

tho you will be suspended and send to a psychology instance

to make sure you wont kill your self ore do any more stuff that can accidently hurt others

sending accidental kills to jail that follow procedures is kinda stupid to me

i would blame the procedure and demand it be changed

  • @klote2314

    Someone should be punished.

Someone fired or gave the order to fire without verifying there target. By any defintion that is incompetence and should be punished.

  • Comment removed

  • @piacono oh like UK in WW2 was so good at never killing any friendlies. Lot of US soldiers even said the same thing to u guys. The RAF kept bombing US forces many times in Mortain, France because your pilots mistook them for German columns. In Exercise tiger, Royal Navy dropped live ammunition killing 308 American Soldiers. Go to Wikipedia, type up "friendly fire" and you see shitloads of UK friendly fire incidents in WW2. Don't believe me? check out the citation numbers and get a book yourself.

  • @Hperman09

You are correct and cold as it might sound to some-it will continue to happen because the biggest flaw are us humans because we're not perfect.War isnt orchestrated like a book and situations can change in minutes so nothing can ever be certain. These pilots never intended to kill allied troops and shouldnt be convicted of anything.Im British, but can see it from both sides without any prejudice.

  • @vegas2004 I'm only talking about WW2(because this guy i'm replying thinks called USAAF(which was called back then in WW2) is useless) and yes the pilots never intended to kill allied troops and shouldnt be convicted of anything.

Just like how war in Iraq/Afghanistan UK Soldiers were never charged for killing 2 Danes, UK tank Commander Steven Roberts, 3 Afghans, the list goes on.

No soldiers were pretty mean to do this. Friendly fire are unfortunate part of war.

    i agree with u.

  • @Hperman09 WW2 was how many years ago? Lets think about how many technological advancements have occurred in modern warfare since the early 1940's. Probably would take 5 minuets to tell these pilots that UK forces were distinguishing themselves as friendly with orange panels.

  • @helloimcow I said to that other guy that WW2 UK had never had any FFs. In this vid, the UK FAC told the pilot 3 times that there were no friendly forces in that area. It could have been orange rockets, So they had to engage before they did as far as they were concerned . The intel was bad , as there was no blue square around friendlies. After all, the pilot was come back that they were friendlies and he was shocked and cried. It's just one terrible mistake between two communications.

  • this report of friendly fire is an attempt to distract the viewer (TV) from the fact

WE DONT NEED TO BE THERE

  • This is very sad but a fact of war, do you think us brits have never done blue on blue, think again. You can tell from the video that the pilots didn't want this to happen but this is war. There are many steps taken to stop this happening, but like everything in life you can never stop it all as none of us are perfect.

  • Believe what you want and deal with it in your own way. I'm sure, if you tried really hard, that you could hate the US too.

  • Typical media crap. The WHOLE incident is available, including the lead asking battle management TWICE if there were any friendlies as far north as they were and describing in detail what they saw to the ABMs. It's an awful miscommunication and has been part of war since there has been war. Suck it up and press on.

  • Its not the fact that it happened, its more that the US denied it happened,The mother of the lad that was killed wanted to know how and why he died, but the US refused any comment, making a statment of "We have no record"....then a UK tabloid(The Sun) managed to get proof, and the US were found out to be lying to there closest freinds and allies. They later said they had tried to cover up the attack as it would appear bad for the morale of the US citzens..

  • For now i forgive the american pilots. I mean atleast they wernt like Hahaha dude that was freindly haha unlucky.. But they were sad and angry sort of thing so... Anyways.. Im starting to think the us MEAN To kill British soldiers.. I meann uhh .. The US Are a good army but.. Its happening TOO Often. Oh well i suppose aslong as were allies were cool.

  • more british soldiers killed by americans than iraqis,WTF

  • Pilots devastated? Bullshit.

  • comm say there no friendly's, i seen the full video why this tv news didn't show that

  • No..infact hey were given a medal and now train other airmen...and the fact that they have LARGE orange pannels on them...every one knows in the Field Orange is Freindly...

  • I like how the spin it to sound like America is fucking dumb.

It was an accident, very horrible, but it's war, friendly fire has been around forever.

  • Shit happens in war, a tragic mistake unfortunately.

  • Not the pilots fault, bad intel. But you know, it's not like the British havn't ever had blue on blue before, every nation has i'm sure and nobody feels good afterwards. I hate the media.

  • Good ole fashioned BBC spin!

See, even the Brits are incapable of being objective.

  • Are you trying to suggest that ALL Brits are incapable of being objective or did I misinterpret you?

  • I guess I should have said "British Media."

... or ANY media for that matter.

  • What is with all the dumb pilot talk its not like they are not well trained or idiots it was a mix up in the intel they had. They identified the yellow panels as missiles instead of British soldiers, if you notice the pilots asked if friendlies were in the area and they were told that they were 800? metres away. It doesn't seem trigger happy so mush as misinformed

  • Sad.

  • Very.

  • Oh My God, I can not believe that it actualy happened im a 13 year old from the US and id just like to say i extremely angry and just pissed that that would happen all i have to say is im so sorry i knew one of the pilots personaly and he almost killed him self litteraly im so sorry and god bless those brits and espesialy the one that died i cant eve imagine how messed up that is :(

  • @Wawaweewaj well, this is what you get when sending semi-educated kids into combat. children with big guns. this is image of US army.

dont get fooled by jewish propaganda. war is bad, you know.

  • i think the title of this video is wrong i mean what the fuck

  • cant really blame the pilots, they were sent out there with next to no training, they werent told that there was friendlys in the area, and im guessing no body bothered to tell them orange panels = friendly, my anger is directed at the arse holes that fail to train people properly just to save money or whatever excuse they come up with before sending em out to combat. then having the balls to try and hide their fuckups

    R.I.P. Hull

  • Kinda sad us shooting our own allies. But war is Hell and mistakes do happen.

  • the sound of the a-10's gattling gun going off sends shivers down my back.

  • perfect examples of american mentality here. i really really doubt you lot would be so mute of the situation if it were an american convey strafed by British jets.

still no justice for the victim of the world famous American idiocy that infects so many of you.

why the hell did we enter this fucking war?

  • No, but I would remember the time you mowed down hundreds of un armed protesters in Derry. Let's not blame this on mentality. Shit happens. And everyone in this situation should feel like fucking shit.

  • ive seen the sit happens argument so many times. well with american blue on blue incidents, shit seems to happen alot.

and im not aware of any incident of the british mowing down hundereds of protesters in londonderry.

you have to admit at least that the americans do this kind of thing alot compared to other forces involved.

  • What really fails in your comment is "mentality". I would LOVE to see you get into and fly one of those aircraft. You have to be a super human to do so. Ever heard of the song Bloody Sunday by U2? I suggest you look it up on Wikipedia.

  • your one of the troubles worst critics probably a 3rd generation plastic paddy not even old enough to know what realy went on

  • Can you please re-phrase that? That made NO fucking sense.

  • Comment removed

  • dont get me wrong ive been to the US and i love Americans but nothing piss's me off more is idiots (especialy so called Irish- Americans)slagging off the British when they they aint got a clue what realy went on during the N/Ireland conflict ,

  • Don't tell me I don't have a clue. I lived in Cobhem for several years.

  • The only Cobhem ive heard of is Surrey,England lol

  • Yes, I lived in Cobham, Surry for several years.

  • What a heartless comment you fucking douche.

  • Their first combat experience is killing a friendly soldier, who happened to be only 25 years old.

Gotta feel like fucking shit right there...

  • its true tht its just like the americans to go in guns blazing like tht without rly knowing FOR SURE wots down there, but yer i think better technology should be employed in siuations like this to make sure it never happens again. just a fukin tragic accident n i actualy do feel for the pilots to...there job is rly 'monkey see monkey do', n they should have been told before tht blues wer in that area.

  • nah how could we brits be as funy as you? i mean that comment was pure class. please reply back with some insult for me, so i can laff sum more.

  • the jibberish we speak? haha. We speak English, same as you. retard

  • that sucks =/

  • the a10 is a rather unsophisticated aircraft. Blame our MoD for not fitting IFF equipment like the us have and for relying on "orange patches" (visual ID). Also, why are we wasting £ on stuff like the eurofighter when our troops arent even given basic equipment like flak jackets by the penny pinchers? This leftest labour govt of ours (the enemy within)...

  • What angers me about this is not only the event itself but the fact America, once again, tries to hide this stuff from allies. It's bad enough that the incompetence costs lives but if that happens, have the balls to come clean about it in future.

  • they shouldnt be put in jail it wasnt there fault they need to put the flag on a panal not some color if you can see the flag and understaand its ur guys then this woudnt happen they werent cowboys its called misinformation it happend to the us to when we where attacking baghdad a flight of a 10s destroyed a striker group that was on the other side of town it happens like the famous saying WAR IS HEll

  • Orange panels were mentioned a number of times before they shot...

Seemed like they were always in doubt. So they shouldn't have shot.

  • Or how about all you fuckin' americans wear glasses?

  • You ever seen those Big orange panels on humvees fucknut? It was an agreed method of visual identification between the international forces, Along with IR strobes (night ops) and Smoke (if you were caught in blue on blue).

The guys in the cockpit were told that there was no friendly armour in the area, and they were not aware of the significance of the orange panels and they were not trained to identify friendly armour

Thats the real tragedy, people being sent to war with no real training.

  • "were in jail dude" "Argghhh"

  • LOL, yes Orange panels is what we all used. The AirForce Pilots are just too fucking dumb and never learn to id enemy equipment Vs. friendly equipment. All those brains and lots of education and never make up for Common Fucking sense in the AirForce. I watched an AirForce Pilot kill several army soldiers in Nasyria in 03. Fucking Dumb Air Force Pilots.

  • Agreed, Bluebrum,

This wasn't an act of malice, but rather a lack of communication and situation clarity. Unfortunately, it turned out sour for them.

I'm an officer candidate, and hope to fly the A-10 someday, and I'm sick of people saying that this was deliberate, and of people trying to start conspiracy theories, etc. Unfortunate things happen in war, people. We and the Brits are still friends.

Here's something to keep your interest, everyone. Russians buzzing our destroyers and carriers.

  • i agree 100% with BLUEBRUM and USAF, rather than insulting each others armies and each other we should be supporting each other and more importantly our boys in iraq and afganistan as they deserve credit for fighting for peace and we have no idea wat war is like and how easy to make mistakes it is, also the bombers were not exactly happy about this incident. i will admit as a Brit i was pissed off about this but its war and this thing happens. UK AND USA 4 EVER!

  • During WWII about 25% of US casualties were from friendly fire... War is horribly stressful, dangerous, and is waged by people who are tired, and scared.

War is really rotten. It is a grave responsibility to send young men off to war, and courageous for brave men to sign up. What happens is partly luck, and partly following through.

  • buster thet what you write is wrong, US'a force atack the Britih force !!

  • Yet you still covered it up..

  • i thik this is one more intent of uk to make the US look bad as always they have done it

  • They are...US always FF

  • you have to understand that the pilot that you called idiot the hq gave him and order to take out the tank it was an accident am not american to be deffending them but i see that that was an accident i bet you he got more brain than you to you be judge him

  • The pilots were improperly briefed in my opinion. They were also messed up by the fact that ground controllers failed to inform them about the prescence of friendlies in the grid they were working. This was a tragic incident, which has had plenty of company in prior wars. The blame does not lie solely with the pilots, but rather with a overall system which failed to take important steps before an engagement was authorized.

  • everyone seems to think they just wana kill kill kill the truth is they didnt know....its not like they just saw some vehicals and blew them up... they checked them out, multiple times, discussed the sighting and took out what they thought were BAD guys, war is hell and good people die, they wernt proud of it

  • FAIL

  • they didnt mean to do it, its a war accidents happen

  • yea i gotta agree. the people running the staging are the untrined 19 and 20 year olds.

  • and all they want to do is kill kill kill - like they are playing some videogame. And they dont have a clue about iraq. Many of them think iraq is involved in terrorism.

  • good idea..to do that a lot of people would have to die.voting is only an illusion now believe me.

  • that might as well be on x box live

  • its what weve come to expect from the yanks i suppose, after all, they did kill 3 times as many british forces as the iraqis did during the war...

  • it was intel failure!!! the pilot ask for a confirmation, and he even went in low and slow to check, "orange panel down there"

and "little if any training"?? thats bullshit, dont blame the pilots.

  • a little revolutionary war payback! just kidding that is really sad. well i don't know about the british, but the iraqi's call the warthog the devils cross. if you see it coming at you can kiss your ass goodbye.

  • SAS...ye yank pussies...Game over!!!...SAS

  • Its a fucking tragedy. Why does everyone have to act like assholes about it. Americans and British.

  • Yeah, I don't think he slept very well that day(s).

But why did the Britsh government insist that the tape didn't exist? Seems like a coverup to me..

  • because if we saw it then we'd kill all americans >=]

  • You still have a 200+ year old grudge with the USA. I think we kick the UK's ass there to ; )

  • usa kickin the uk's ass? dream on

  • We should get to see what war is really all about, and what our weapons do to people.

  • Hey - US forces can kill their FRIENDS!!

    You think this is SMART??

  • why would u wont to see his body?

  • 4200 rpm of fun.
