The coolest Ifrits are FFVIII and FFX Ifrit.... FFIX looks like that one cat thing from Godzilla... King Caesar I think it's called or some shit. I dunno, look it up lol, you'll see what I mean.
I think it's like....FF VII & VIII took summons to the absolute craziest levels so there was really no topping that unless you waited for next gen. And even FF X didnt do that as they opted to just have you play as them instead of making them appear in such grandious form. Same with XI & XII. I think only Crisis Core finally returned to that era (on purpose since it's a prequel probably).
yeah. all ultimate summons I've seen except KotR fail. (5 AND 4 DON'T COUNT, BECAUSE BAHAMUT SERVES AS THE ULTIMATE SUMMON IN THOSE. 3 is not mentioned because I've not played it.)
6: you hurt your party as well, and it's damn near impossible to survive.
7: long animation for 13 VERY high damage hits! Epic win for this one.
8:Sure, it can break the 9999 damage limit with one hit, but so can other abilities, which don't take ANYWHERE near as long.
Ifrit in FF10 is the best by far, dont really like the one from 9. But FF9 had the best Bahamut, i think!

aftwork for monsters in ff8 was way better. ifrit, griever eden, diabolos. all sick designs. they went downhill for ideas in this game
