I don't know if it would help if the cameras would be straight above of the cue or if the cue could be moved below its "eyes". Maybe some of the miscued shots could be eliminated that way as well as more accuracy gained on long shots.

- Congratulations; but now you should concentrate budgets to be able to buy the Elumotion 2 hands for example; so he will be able to achieve lot of more tasks... Just imagine a robot who will be able to cook for you, clean the room, wash your clothes; bring you something to drink and then play pool or chess... for example. I think after that every respected millionaire will love to buy your humanoid robots. 10% of 9.5 million millionaires = make the numbers... The God of Humanoid Robots :-)

@luisbeck007 I believe the PR2 is designed to be an open robotics platform, thats both the hardware as well as the OS and software, adding a proprietary component would defeat that.

Since the platform is open and modular another group could add the hands for research.

Cost is also an issue, the PR2 is like $10k, the Elumotion RT-1 which is only an upper body robot is around $288k. Don't know how much just the hands are but not cheap. I would prefer to see Willow Garage make their own hands.
