In general you should be careful with caterpillars. Their hairs / spines / setae can be venomous.

Quoth Wikipedia:

"...approximately 12 families of moths or butterflies worldwide can inflict serious human injuries ranging from urticarial dermatitis and atopic asthma to osteochondritis, consumption coagulopathy, renal failure, and intracerebral hemorrhage. Skin rashes are the most common, but there have been fatalities."

Yey! Identifying this cute little critter turned out to be easier than I expected.

It is called a Hickory Horned Devil (Citheronia regalis), which becomes a Regal Moth (a.k.a Royal Walnut Moth). It is harmless and the spines are not irritating.

Random factoid: the adult Regal Moth has only vestigial mouth parts. It must mate and lay eggs before it starves to death.

I think the other one (0:20 to 0:25) may be a Yellownecked Caterpillar but I can't be sure.

It is probably also completely harmless but details about it are more resistant to my Google-Fu.
