I love that story. In the movie "Jesus of Nazareth", Herod in this scene was torn apart when he heard she wanted John's head. Heron came to love JTB, and i find it interesting and a blessing to see the revelation of the sewer in this story. We reep what we sow. The laws of the universe are unchanging. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Good Word. God Bless.
It is not lawful for many believers who have divorced and remarried while their original spouse is still alive, as Phillip was still alive while Herodias took a second-husband, Herod.
Sadly, hardly anyone in the church wants to face the cold, hard facts in which Yahshua Jesus says, "Whosoever marries a divorced woman committeth adultery." Rather than looking at sins within the body of Christ, so many point to same-sex union being a sin, while failing to see their own sin. Ezra 10.
